Mac Book Pro 2009 & iMac 2012 edition needed repairing. I worked with Jack & learned it would be more expensive to fixe than they were worth. Jack was able to back up my super important files on an external Hard Drive and saved me a ton of heart ache. I truly appreciate the honesty and professionalism. I will be purchasing my next iMac from Simutek

I am very satisfied with the service and pricing that I received. I've visited Simultek twice in the last month. First, my new iPhone locked me out after an overnight download of some kind and I couldn't get in. Two weeks later I took my Mac in to have it diagnosed and they gave me a very clear and honest assessment of the problems. My Mac is aging out, just like myself! They also ran a couple of programs and cleaned off a bunch of Maleware. The old girl is running better and I think I bought myself a little time to save for a new computer. The staff here is well-trained. They know their stuff and don't "mansplain" to an old lady. Will Return.

I downloaded a file from a trusted friend who later I found out his email was compromised. I called Simutek who told me to bring my computer into the store. I tried to pack my iMac into its box but was not strong enough to fit it in. I will be 80 years old in a couple months. But, I took my case in order to protect it thinking someone might help me. When I got to the store a representative came up to my car and I told him the information. He seemed to be in a flat, dour mood and not very helpful. I asked him to help me put it in its box but he said they did not have enough room inside the store. Before I left I noticed another representative carrying out an iMAC it its box to the customer's car. I do want to add that a very nice guy called me when I was on my way home to assess the situation with my computer. I felt it was in good hands. The next morning I spoke with Jack who told me that I could come to the store to pick up my iMAC. I drove to the store and the same guy waited on me as the day before. His attitude was not very nice. He told me the cost and I gave him my credit card. He later came out with what I thought was my iMAC and put it on the floor in back of me. I said something to him but he ignored me and went to another car. Finally, I had to keep calling him to tell him he did not return my credit card which he then retrieved. As I was driving home, every time I stopped my monitor would bang against my back seat. I stopped in a safe place to put my iMAC on my back seat. It was then I noticed that it was a yellowish color and the screen was filthy. Also, there were yellow, dirty, smelly dust balls on the bottom of the intake screen. I noticed the stand was covered in a dirty dust also. I am a non smoker and my computer is always spotlessly clean. I called the store and a woman answered and since I was halfway of a long way home, I told her my concerns. There was no number on the computer or on my receipt. I took it back to the store and the same woman took my computer. She came back in a few minutes with my real computer and a new receipt. She told me that it was my iMAC. I noticed this iMAC had a spotless screen with only finger marks on top and it was very clean like I kept it. I felt that this lady lied to me although I cannot prove it. I did email the store and told them what happened but they never answered me. Since this store is the only one in Tucson who handles Apple products I would have to take my computer there again to be serviced. I have mixed feelings regarding this. I do have to say in all fairness that I had a hard drive replaced in my old computer and they did an outstanding job. I realize everyone is stressed because of the corona virus. Why was common decency and honesty replaced in my situation?

Simutek went above and beyond. When they removed the failed battery they noticed a problem that went beyond the battery. They weren't sure of the reason before they tore it apart, but said that whatever it was they would repair at no cost to me, just in case they could have caused the problem. They put in an entirely new logic board in addition to the new battery, at no cost to me. And this was all same-day service. A special shout-out to Kate who was such an attentive sales/service associate, and to the technician who did the work. I'm a big fan of Simutek!
Description of Work: Replaced MacBook battery, which was still under warranty, but also replaced the entire logic board.

Description of Work: Replaced hard drive In iMac. |Someone greets you instantly Judy inside door. Not crowded like Apple Store and they know their trade. Fast service and communication? I am basically a computer illiterate and they explained things down to my level. I recommend them to anyone for Mac problems.

I was the one who had a bad experience with a Simutek employee and wrote a negative review Sept. 15 expressing my disappointment, frustration and anger. Altough I kept hearing good things about the outfit there was no way I was going back into that store to stress over a rude employee--it's a small shop to avoid anyone. But I was in dire need of assistance with my vintage computer and a couple external hard drives going down and even the Apple store pointed me there so I gingerly called up to scout it out. Didn't take long to find out the offending staff member was no longer with the company for just the behavior I encountered. It's a whole different place without the bad seed and I'm just sorry I had to cross his path to throw me off. These guys (and Martha) are all great--very helpful, above and beyond. I would recommend Simutek to anyone else in the market for a Mac. The Apple Mother Ship up the road is a pretty busy place so it's nice to walk into Simutek and talk to real folks without an appointment and a big, hectic crowd. I will certainly do business there again as my go-to Mac experts.

I went in there to spend $2600 for a new MacBook Pro and was given information that was wrong wrong wrong--Tom said my Adobe Creative Suite software would not extend to a second computer and I disagreed and said it licensed two but he said and quot;No No No, only one.and quot; Spent the next hours trying to determine the truth--after reading the 2-license info online I called Simutek to tell him it was 2 and I could email the info to him and he said no need because he's right, I'm wrong, only the Master Suite not the Standard suite will license to 2 computers and he used to work for Adobe and and quot;I'm giving you this help for free.and quot; Big help. Very antagonistic, stubborn, unprofessional, and just wrong wrong wrong. But to make sure I could use my expensive $1200 Adobe software on a second computer I went through the gauntlet trying to contact a real live person at Adobe--they bury phone numbers to greatly discourage real contact--and when at last got through and talked to a supervisor I got my belief confirmed: CS6 Standard does indeed license 2 computers if they're Macs. Simutek just cost me 4 HOURS of my day and themselves a $2600 customer and any of my future referrals. Will happily drive farther across town to go to the real Apple Store, La Encantada, and strongly suggest others do as well. The person actually assisting me, Chuck, didn't know about licensing but was very helpful when looking at used and new computers and took time to explain the new technology and address all my questions even though more customers were coming in the door. Although I was helped right away both times in the store I give a D for responsiveness--after the first visit I decided to buy the computer and called to ask how long it would take to set me up on a new one with data transfer and when would be a good time, my call went to voice mail and they never called back. I can only surmise that they really don't want to sell expensive products to customers ... ???

I am sorry to hear about the experience you had at Simutek. First, you were absolutely correct that Adobe CS can be licensed on two machines. I would have believed all of my staff was aware of that fact. You have pointed out a need for my business and I thank you for taking the time to do so. We have been in business for 34 years and have strived to achieve the highest levels of customer service. Our customer satisfaction rating with Apple is over 94%. Our google reviews are 4.5 out of 5 stars and our yelp reviews are 4 out of 5. In your review you point out the good work Chuck did, as well as the poor work done by Tom. I wish there was a way to prove to you that your experience with Chuck is the norm. The aberration that was your experience with Tom will be addressed internally. He can be educated, trained, and coached to meet the standards to which we hold our employees. The lack of a return call is inexcusable and I could review every outgoing phone call to verify if an attempt to call you back was ever made. Frankly, your review implies there is nothing I can do to earn Simutek another chance at your business, so I will not ask you for the additional detail I would need to research the call. I will address that issue with each and every member of my staff individually. I hope my response indicates that we do "want to sell expensive products to customers," Further I hope it indicates that the amount you spend is far less important than the experience we want you to have.

I went in to have an older model mac book pro repaired. The screen was grey but I could use an external monitor ok.The person who helped me diagnosed the problem in less than 5 minutes, a bad LCD screen. And get this, she told me that for my use, it might be better just to buy a nice external monitor and use that versus repairing the LCD screen. So, although I ended up not getting my mac serviced there, I came a way feeling that this was a great repair shop and I will definitely bring my mac in as they need repair.

I am extremely pleased with their service.
Description of Work: The mouse pad built into my Power Book G4 stopped working. The owner of Simultek, Richard, advised just bypassing it & sold me an external mouse which I attached to a USB port on my Mac. He told me it would be very expensive to repair the built-in mouse pad. At the same time he fixed my inability to import to iPhoto. He "rebuilt" the directory as I waited & then my laptop was able to import my photos from my camera. The $20 was just for the cost of the mouse. I had minor problems addressed over the past 5 yrs with my laptop, & Richard & his staff have always been very helpful in resolving the issues at no cost or very minimal labor cost. In 10/2011, I bought a new Airport Extreme at Simultek & I had some difficulty with connecting it for streaming Netflick. His technician over the phone helped me by explaining which numbers the Blue Ray needed to connect & I was then able to resolve the problem. I am extremely pleased with their service.

They are awesome. We originally took the computer to the store and they were going to charge $1000 so we ended up going down to Simutek. Part of the problem with the laptop was under warrantee and the technician knew that it had been recalled. He fought with Apple to make them pay for it so he got the laptop fixed for free. It took about two weeks sending the laptop back and forth. My son puts music and things on his computer and they made sure that no files would be lost. He got another repair done on the disc drive that Apple wanted to charge $390 and they only charged $280. Instead of $1000 to have everything fixed, I walked out of the store having paid $280. I was so impressed that I ended up buying an iPad through Simutek. They called me up when it came in and they stayed open late for me because it was my birthday. You don’t find many people like that. I told everyone I know about the business. They are a small business and they sell all of the Apple products.
