SEQUOIA SPAS

It was a floor model spa and they had given us a significant discount, which made it worth it. They wanted to get rid of it because they had newer models coming in. It was a Dimension One Spa that they had delivered. It worked fairly well for about a year, and then one day when I had tried to turn it on it was unresponsive. The control panel for the spa was subject to being harmed by moisture, and the spa has moisture. In the four and a half years that we have owned this spa we?ve had four control panels replaced. We are now on our fourth or fifth control panel. They come out reluctantly to have it replaced. The person that owns Sequoia is a bit of a curmudgeon. He is reluctant to be responsive in a customer friendly manner, and sometimes it takes some persuasion. He initially wanted to charge us a $35 trip charge on warranty calls for his repair man even though the repairman lived within a mile or two from where we lived. I had to contact the manufacturer and they had reprimanded him for charging us because warranty work was to be done for free including the repairs. He has been fairly responsive since then. We?ve had some other minor problems too with the spa. We have a five-year warranty on it, and my concern is that once the warranty expires the repairs would be really expensive. I would not use Sequoia Spas again.

After telling us the estimate for repair, the owner again said we would be better off buying another Spa and said he had a used one for about that price. We went to the store. I was flabbergasted, the used spa was a piece of junk sitting outside in the back, no top and full of green water. It appeared it had been their quite a while. The salesman then showed us new Spas starting at $5,000 and up. We left and asked the salesman to tell the owner to call us to see about fixing our current Spa. We received no call. We called again and then stopped back to the store about a week later. The salesman again tried to sell us a new Spa. We again asked to be called and to have our equipment returned. No one called. Since they had our motor and controls we could not get another quote and get it fixed by someone else. I believe telling us they had a nice used Spa at the same price was intended to get us in the store for a bait and switch. Our motor and controls have never been returned.
