They did an excellent job. I have used them in the past and their price was much more reasonable than others. I would highly recommend them and I will use them again.

I recently moved into this 4200 s.f. home and wanted a routine maintenance performed on the heating system as winter is approaching. I had no issues with the system, but just wanted routine maintenance. I have two HVAC units. According to the previous owner, this company, SAYCO, previously maintained these HVAC systems. Sure enough, when i called to schedule an appointment they had the previous owner's name. In addition, they told me the last maintenance was completed in 8/2009. I was scheduled for the first appointment at 8:30AM, and I took the morning off from work. No one showed up by 9:30AM, so I called the office to find out that they had transposed two of the digits in my phone number thereby calling the wrong number that morning. They were able to send someone out within an hour to service our HVACs. When the serviceman went to work on the HVACs, I watched him the whole time especially since this was a new system to me. Here is what he did...he opened the front panel to the first unit and applied a large yellow device to the wiring; turned the HVAC on and off; flipped some toggle switches; and then told me that everything was working fine. After some questioning, he told me he adjusted some toggle switches to maximize the efficiency of the system. He then proceeded to close the panel and moved on to the air filter to remove it. He found that he brought the wrong size air filter for our unit and did not replace it. However that was the air filter size noted in their records from previous visits. He called the office and told me that he would return first thing the next morning to replace our air filters. I asked if he was going inside to check the thermostat, and he said "no." I also asked if he would be cleaning or lubricating moving parts in the unit, and he said "no." Then he moved on to the second unit and repeated the same procedure. Total time at my home: 60 mins. The next day, I got the morning off and waited. By 9:30AM he had not shown up, so I called the office and spoke to the same woman who always answers their phones who gave me sarcasm when I asked when he would be arriving saying that it wouldn't be until "later" that day. She said she would call me before he came out. By noon it seemed I was going to lose a whole day of work, so in an effort to do something meaningful I chose to take my wife out to lunch. Therefore I called SAYCO at noon and asked what the likelihood was of the repairman coming out between noon - 2PM. Her answer was that he would not come out "until well after 3PM." I questioned whether she knew this when I called in the morning and she replied in the negative, but I do not know if I believe her. I told her that was angry, and it was only at this point that she apologized. No one from the office called me by 4:15PM, so I called, and the same woman told me he would be out in 20mins. The job got done at 5PM. In summary, the punctuality issues and customer service issues are less important to me than the quality of work that I paid for. I do not believe the quality of work was worth the cost at all. In a previous home I owned in La Paloma, I've had another company service our 2 units every season. Each service call lasted about 3 hours and included cleaning, lubrication of moving parts, and inside check of the house to ensure that the thermostat is in optimal working order. In fact when I sold the house in La Paloma this past June, the inspector told me the inside of the HVAC units looked new. On this service call from SAYCO, I gather that all he he did was check that the HVACs were drawing the appropriate amount of electrical current. He did nothing else. I could not in any good conscience recommend this company based on the quality of work I received or the overall customer service experience.
Description of Work: I recently moved into this home this past summer, and I hired this company (previous owner utilized this company as well) to do a routine check on the heating system in preparation for the winter.

I decided to get new systems with the rebates through Carrier, who they service, and our electric company. Their service was excellent. They came out ahead of time and consulted with us about what we would need. They gave us a lot more information ahead of time than some of the other companies. We were able to get a highly efficient unit with a very good internal thermostat. Everyone who came out was prompt, clean, and careful. There were various workers at my home throughout the installation. They were able to stay within the budget. The estimate was very good and there were no extra charges. Everything is working fine. When I called to schedule the appointment and I said my name they were able to recognize me. It is a local business and they remembered me. I have already scheduled for them to come out and turn on the humidifier and I plan to use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Sayco Heating & Air Conditioning installed new heating and cooling units. They also installed a humidifier on the furnace.
