John Harlan came out to give us ideas and our quote. He was very easy to work with and get a hold of when we had questions. The workers always showed up on time and were very friendly and helpful. They were able to answer our questions while the work was being completed. Everything was completed and we are very happy with our final product. Santa Rita wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but we are very happy with the quality. The guys had to do alot of extra work jack hammering concrete near the edges of our fence, so we could place our sprinkler heads right up against the fence and have good water coverage. It's been 7 months since the work was completed and our grass looks great! When it rains, the water drains right out of yard like it should. After seeing all the work it involved, my husband was really glad we decided to hire Santa Rita instead of completing the job himself. I had bought several plants and trees to plant in the backyard. Santa Rita planted them for me at a man hour rate of $35/hr. That is a great deal considering how difficult it is to dig a large hole here in Tucson. We are still planting around our pool, and it so easy since our drip irrigation line runs throughout the yard now. Now we are ready for some lighting and stepping stone pathways in the backyard. I just called John out for another quote.

I tried to reach this company several time to have them come out to my home for a quote on landscaping. Each time I called, nobody answered the call. I left several voice mails and never received a call back. Very disappointing considering them come so highly recommendation on Angie's List. It finally got to the point, I thought maybe they had moved out of the State however I just recently saw them driving in town. Other companies are out there who are willing to work with you!

Chose not to use them. But their basic design was good.

Did a great job of laying out the plan for upgrading my yard. Now, I am getting the final cost estimate for implementing the plan which will cost near $30,000.

The work went extremely well. Jerry Bell was the project manager and he provided excellent on-site supervision and outstanding communication with us. Jerry is to be commended for the attention to detail he gave to our project. He made the difference in in our work being good and being "flat out great"! Cecil Solis also did an excellent job leading the work crew. Cecil is a talented craftsman with masonry and pavers. Jose Avila was a tireless worker. Everyone at Santa Rita was talented, professional and personable.

They just wanted me to take a picture of the area I wanted landscaped and they would do something with the picture. I was not interested in taking pictures to them to get a landscape design, usually they come out and look and see to do this type of work.

The design and construction were very professional. The owner was really responsive to all my questions. I knew the price would be higher than other companies but I would rather to have a high quality experience rather than being worried. my overall experience was great. I wish they could help me with maintenance but they only do design and construction.

They did satisfactory, i thought they were a little expensive at the time.

As far as the design work and architecture is concern, they’re doing a fantastic job. They’re going to plant trees and flowers. They’re doing stonework for us. They’re completely redoing our courtyard. They’re pretty involved. They have such good marks in Angie’s List. One of the reason is they gave a preliminary look. They have a good reputation as well in Tucson. It’s been wonderful. They’ve been very timely. They’ve been extremely patient working with us to make sure that the final plan is exactly what we want. They’re very flexible. It’s all good. I assume I will use them again after seeing this project.

The designer worked with me on the plan, I changed it four times and he was extremely patient. The flagstone went in first, two very profession men put that in with no problems like they had been doing it for years. Then the landscape crew came and did all the rest. Great to work with as they made sure to ask me if they were unsure about something. The install went very smoothly. When it was complete the Supervisor came by to make sure everything was the way I wanted it and to show me how to work the timer. He also brought a book with a map of where the irrigation goes and instructions on water and fertilizer etc. I have various companies work on my yards before but no one as good as this from start to finish. They get an A+++ from me! I love my new yard!

They did an excellent job of the design. Garrett was very professional and knowledgeable. However, I tried to express keeping the cost low when we first met. If I were to follow the design presented the estimated cost to install the design was $15,000 - well beyond what I was willing to spend. Garrett mentioned the ability to subtract from the design and provide some of my own labor, etc to cut down the cost. I couldn't see any way of dropping the cost enough for me to invest in a landscaping project. While the design was fantastic, I didn't want to invest in the fulfilling the project.

We met with Rich Doering and went over our ideas. Rich came up with a great design taking our suggestions and choosing plants and trees to meet our goals. He was great in letting us discuss and alter these selections. The entire landscaping team including the gas and electric installers were great. Very professional. Jerry the supervisor kept us apprised of the scheduling. Everyone worked well together making the finished product beautiful! The only negative was working with the management of the subcontractor for the awning. The installers were excellent but the salesperson was difficult.

Because previous work in 2010 was good I called for a consultation on a similar project. The person on the phone said that I would need to come to their office to discuss the project. I insisted that on a previous occasion a landscape designer came to me, at the job site, to review the project. I asked how it was possible to design a project before seeing the site and the scope of the work? The response was that I should draw a plan of what I wanted and bring it to there location. If I knew what I wanted I wouldn't need their services. I think my mistake was telling Santa Rita Landscaping up front that this was a small job. I guess there not interested in small jobs. I'll not bother them again.

It was fine. The plan was just what they advertised. I think that they are a very ethical company. We liked the plan, so we bought the landscaping. I feel a little at a disadvantage; we bought it in January and it seems to me that we didn’t meet until March. Our overall experience with them was good. We had them come out. They were here for three days. With regard to price, I have no opinion on that. I think that it was good quality.

We met with Rich and we went over the plot plan and different materials, etc that would meet the HOA requirements as well as please us. We discussed plants and trees we liked and what we did not want as well as our price range. Rich told us it would be about two weeks to complete the design. True to his word he notified us the plan was ready for us to review within the time frame he estimated. The plan was beautiful!!! Our new house should be completed in April and we are anxious to get the plan implemented. Rich thought the work would be completed in three weeks once they are able to start. More to follow after the landscaping has been completed!

We have zero creativity but Garrett asked the right questions and came up with a design that fits us perfectly. Workers were very skilled and meticulous.

From my first interview with Rich Doering, Senior Design Consultant, to the final clean up, the entire process was a winner. Rich actually listened to my list of wants and maybes and followed through completely on the final plan. It was not a totally uneventful situation as I had to adhere with HOA requirements and demands. Rich was a cool customer and kept the entire process rolling as smoothly as whipped cream. Then there was the team that arrived to start the transformation. What a fabulous bunch of guys. There were Jorge, Ramdu, Felippe and Ernesto who were hard working, knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating. I?ve lived in Tucson for more than 20 years and have never had better workmen complete any job. When the work was done, except for a fabulous, natural-looking backyard, you would not have known all that work went on because everything was as neat and tidy as the day they arrived....maybe ever more so. I would highly recommend Santa Rita Landscaping, in fact I would urge you to call them if you want a beautiful, worry-free job.

It all went exactly as promised and better. I have never encountered a better-managed or trained organization. The work was exquisitely planned out, given the difficult logistics of material delivery, specialists-scheduling, etc. All members of their working team were extremely polite, gracious, and hard-working. They responded promptly to every one of our requests. And everything was completed in the promised time and in the promised way. The end results are wonderful. We spend as much time as we can enjoying the beautiful lighting effects on the vegetation and also sitting near the fire pit and experiencing the wonderfully-random effects of the spiraling orange flames. Included in the price is a thorough and expert walk-through clarifying maintenance and operating procedures. Certainly, the design element of the project cannot be overestimated. We could never have come up with such a professional and aesthetically-gratifying design on our own. It was worth every penny.

Santa Rita Landscaping Inc. was contracted to landscape our background. And while there were disappointments with regard to the artificial turf that required replacement, an issue regarding the gas grill and pathway, they pale in comparison to the more serious issue of the natural gas line running from an exterior wall of our home to the newly constructed natural gas grill. The contract documented that Santa Rita Landscaping would run 16 LN. FT.of gas line with trenching and permit for the natural gas line from the home to the gas grill. During research of the permit activity of our home I was shocked to discover that a permit had not been applied for or issued. Therefore, no pre-cover inspection of the trench or pressure testing of the gas line, a code requirement. Santa Rita Landscaping was immediately contacted and a representative of the company informed us that the "gas line installer" stated that a permit was not needed. The representative went on to say that we were charged for a permit and that a reimbursement would be made to us, which I declined, because I had researched this issue and I was certain that a permit and inspection was required. I also wondered why at the time the unidentfied gas line installer said that a permit was not needed I was not told and offered the refund at that time. Santa Rita Landscaping has acknowledged that a permit is required and a permit has been issued. They are moving quickly to remedy the issue, whcih will require removing the patio pavers, exposing the open trench for inspection and making any repairs, which will be inconvenient, and will ceate additional dirt, dust and noise. More importantly, my wife and I used the gas grill for the first time very recently not knowing that a permit and inspection disigned for our safety had not been made to protect us and our home. There are several free sources of information available to the consumer. Had I not accessed the one regarding the permit activity of our home, this issue might not have been discovered until we went to sell the home or worse.

It went exquisitely. One ponders where to begin in extolling their virtues. Let's start with the preliminaries: --We met with their co-owner, Garrett Ham, to discuss priorities, artistic inclinations, features, and the budget. He promised to get back to us with a detailed schematic plan within two weeks: he did it in 10 days. --The plan was comprehensive, comprehensible, and wonderfully detailed. We were excited. But the quote for the plan was over our budget. We asked him to scale it back $5,000. --Within a week, he had done so, and yet his plan still offered us the prospect of what we had wished. We had a number of finite requirements: low-maintenance; focused lighting of a large organ pipe cactus; a new water feature; a fire pit with contemporary design elements; and a complete cutting back of our overgrown trees and shrubs. --They scheduled the project sooner than we had thought, and we loved the fact they did. All of our communications with their contacts were professional, productive, and prompt. --Their logistics were beautifully handled. Everything (portable toilet, topsoil, gravel, scattered rocks, boulders, plants, new trees, drip irrigation equipment... etc.) was delivered exactly when needed and promised. --They came at 6:00 a.m. in the morning, but never awakened us with their necessary sounds before 8:00 a.m. --Their landscaping "team" was always polite, responsive, and productive throughout the 12-day process. They worked together in a way we might wish our Congress to perform. And they were so proud of their work that, on the last day they were there, they brought their families over to see the results. --There's more: once done (exactly on time), Santa Rita sent its representative to do a complete walk-through of the finished product, including instructions on how to utilize the drip-irrigation system, the light timers, the plant feedings., the filter cleanings, ..etc. etc. etc. --When we got the final bill, there were no surprises.... PERIOD. Everything was as promised. --NOW.....when we sit out back in the cool early mornings...or sit near the gas fire pit in the early evenings...we are enchanted with the results. Santa Rita provided everything we had anticipated and more... ."more" because their inspired design for the yard was far beyond anything we might have cobbled together on our own. " more" because the sweet horizons of our back yard enchant us... we have to find an excuse to come in. The trickling sounds of water, the random lapping flames of the fire pit, and the lambent moonlight effects on our secret paths convince us that we are in a new place. --My wife and I are not optimists or cheerleaders or (normally) reviewers. However, Garrett Ham and Santa Rita Landscaping have renewed our faith in local capitalism. The entire experience left us with an optimistic glow. --Is $22,500 a surpising amount of money to spend on a cosmetic experience? Yes. But it added value to our home, and we feel that we received a far more generous result from this wonderfully-expert and finely-managed company. Dave Buus and Karin Lorentzen

We met with Garrett, one of the owners for about 1 1/2 hours for the design consultation using Google Maps images of the property and photos we had taken. We were carefully interviewed about our needs, preferences, and budget. Because we had a limited window of opportunity when work could be completed, the design was finished in less than a week and we met again. Garrett went carefully over the design and proposal which included detailed drawings, suggested plants with a full page description of each plant with photos and characteristics. A detailed budget was also proposed. We decided to do only the backyard and made some modifications of proposed plants. Santa Rita Landscaping had a full work calendar but they managed to work us in on a cancelation in about 10 days. The crew arrived early in the morning and were quite friendly. The leader of the crew talked over what they were going to do and made sure any suggestions or requests we had were taken care of. Later in the day of the first day, the project manager came by and checked on the progress of the work and discussed the project with us. An oversight in the design was discussed and a solution agreed upon very quickly. All the work was completed on the second day and the crew left the area very clean. The project manager came out on the following Monday and we went over the entire project including the detailed owners manual which included seasonal watering schedules, the warranties, services, etc., and ensured we were satisfied. We noticed one plant was a different variety than designed and they are in the process of changing it. Garrett called after a few days to ensure we were happy. The one glitch in the process was an oversight in the design where existing pavers were drawn in where they did not exist. The designer never came out to the home site to look at the property and relied completely on photos and satellite images. This oversight left an open space which necessitated the purchase of additional plants. Overall we are very happy with the project and would highly recommend this very professional company.

In times past, this was a major player (contractor) in Saddlebrooke. He was the first to be mentioned by the development office, so we interviewed him and one other. I found that he took forever on the plans and introduced species that we didn't want. That in itself is fixable, but when he started belittling others and stating that XYZ Pool co was not QUALIFIED to work in homes of this scale, then the arrogance and atitude became too much. Especially, as the LESSER pool company was doing most of the homes around us. When he brought in his own pool man to draft and submit a proposal without even asking us, then I knew he would not get our business.

It went very well. The design was created and then reviewed and fine tuned by us and Garrett Ham, VP, several times before we moved forward with the actual work. Their crew was professional and completed the work within the time frame given to us. After the installation was finished, if we lost plants or had any problems Santa Rita's service department resolved these to our satisfaction. We are very happy with the design, installation and all aspects with Santa Rita.
