Our flat roof needed repair and recoating due to cracking of the elastomeric coating, which was rolled over foam. We also needed 4 new skylights. We originally considered replacing the roof with metal, but that proved to be far too expensive. We contacted several companies and received various quotes for recoating. One of the metal roof manufacturers recommended Sam Kimmel Metals. The owner, Sam Kimmel, discussed our original desire to put metal over the existing coating; Sam explained the issues and expense of doing metal over a flat roof. He also explained the issues regarding recoating over the foam. (Mentioned that foam will crack again and require more maintenance sooner). Sam told us that imbedding a fabric-roofing layer into the coating creates a much better sealant on the roof that won’t crack. His quote was in line with the others and we appreciate how he took the time to explain everything to us, and value added in the fact that we were able to speak directly to the owner of the company. We also wanted new skylights as the original aluminum with plastic domes needed to be replaced. The quote Sam gave us for upgraded skylights with insulated glass was by far the best price of anyone by a long shot. There were no hidden fees or surprises in his original bid. Sam and his crew came out on day one to prep for all the work they were going to be doing over the week. Then every morning, as he told us, he and his workers were here before 6 am and worked on replacing the skylights and imbedding the fabric layer the first two days. The last 2 days they were here only for a few hours since all the heavy work was complete by then and they were just building up the coating. Sam PAYS attention during conversations and followed through on special requests we made without requiring follow up on our part, this is very rare today! We can’t say enough good about Sam Kimmel Metals. When we looked at the final work, we were amazed at how every detail was covered. We will be recommending Sam to everyone we know.

Sam and crew powerwashed my roof and resealed it.That part went good.Only complaint I have is when they washed it white sealent came off roof thru scuppers and stained[white]drainage large rocks that were next to flagstone.Large rocks are now white and they tried to powerwash them but thet are beyond repair.Called and left texts but no response.I should have filed a formal complaint but I didn't.Very un professional company .I would think twice about hiring them.!!

Sam was recommended to me by one of my most trusted contractors, who was not able to do the job himself. Sam contacted me promptly and gave me a quote, which we agreed on. He then asked for half of the amount to start the work, and had his crew on m y roof the next day. The work was completed in under a week, and Sam came by to inspect and pick up the second half of the payment. I was very pleased at Sam's customer service, responsivenes, and professionalism.

Sam (the owner) came out and gave a quote, and a schedule. He and his crew arrived to do the job a few days ahead of schedule, job went smooth, no problems, we love our new metal roof. Excellent service

I went with SK to install a new metal roof. Sam was extremely courteous and kind throughout the planning process. He answered phone calls immediately, arrived on time, and finished the work ahead of schedule. He and his staff cleaned up afterwards. He frequently sought out feedback and made sure I was happy. I don't recall ever having a contractor of any type be as customer service oriented.
