Rite Way Heating Cooling & Plumbing

A/C not working even after I had cleaned the clogged filter (darn cats). Rite-Way has been doing maintenance on my units since they were installed in 2000. Serviceman said ice had built up in the coils due to the blockage and was able to resolve that issue. However, also stated that unit had very bad rust and everything needed to be replaced. No option for repairs was given. Sent out salesman with slick colored printouts and computer spreadsheets who told me I had to replace everything for a minimum cost of $10,760. Said they had 5 teams doing installations every day. This was a red flag for me, because they want to keep those teams occupied. Due to that and the high cost, I decided to get a second (and third) opinion. I had two separate (small) companies come out to evaluate my unit, Fix My AC and Tucson Valley Refrigeration. Both stated that they could not find any significant rust and that the larger companies tend to push new units once the 10 year warranty expires.

They were great; they did the job, I paid for it, and they left. The person who came out was very knowledgeable, he thought he know what the problem was right away, he pinpointed the problem and replaced it, and now it works fine. The cost was mainly the part that he had the replace, so it is hard to tell how reasonable the price was. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll pay whatever is necessary rather than have a propane leak in the house. He was very responsive and he was here right on time.

After making my decision to go with Carl's. we signed the contract. It was detailed, covering what each expense was for. This is a 1954 house, so upgrades were necessary, including the electrical panel. The list was thorough, covering all that needed to be done, including pulling a permit for the Electrical upgrade and installing the A. C. Kevin let me know I had the right to have the city inspector come out within six months from the date of completion. The Electrician, subcontracted through Carl's, Rick Villalobos owner of LOBO Electric LLC, was very kind, patient, and knew his job. He came a day earlier to prepare as much as he could to save time for the final upgrade and for the TEP inspection the next day. He spent more time, about three hours, than planned. He was very considerate of my time, realizing I would need to leave for work before he was done. When he was finished, he left the backyard as he found it and closed the gate securely behind him. The next day, everything went smoothly. There was a period of time the power was turned off, but everything went as it was explained. The day of the A. C. installation, Aug 18, went very well. As usual, the workers were very respectful and understanding. A close friend died that day, so my son came to be here while the unit and the furnace was installed. The workmen were understanding, stayed on track, laid tarp from the door to where they installed the furnace and thermostat. When there was no tarp, for instance the initial visits to plan what system I would like, Kevin and his staff wore disposable booties over their shoes to protect carpet and rugs, preventing tracking in debris and dust. Each employee was knowledgeable and professional, friendly, yet keeping professional boundaries. They did an excellent job, with great respect to the home. They cleaned up after themselves and went over and beyond by replacing the vent cover on the roof to the exhaust vent from the kitchen. Carl's secured it so there would be no leaks during a storm or windy weather. The also cleaned up tar from the closet shelf underneath the cover to the attic left by the roofers. They also covered an opening from the outside to the attic, left by roofers who failed to recover it when finishing their job. This company was honest, forthright and consistent from the get-go. The city inspector who inspected the finished work to make sure it was up to code, stated, "You can't go wrong with Rite Way, the same company but different name. The ventilation duct work was also checked for leaks, fixed by using a sealer, Aerosol, distributed through the system by pressure with state-of-the-art computerized read-outs. The technicians, Tim and Ray, were very knowledgable and professional, showing passion for their work. Tim supervised. He was very impressive, no doubt an expert at his trade. He gave me more information about my A. C. system. He also helped me understand the purpose of replacing the grill covers over the vents from swamp cooling, to necessary registers used by A. C. The cost was minimal. They also let me know the previous duct cleaning by another company was inadequate. In the near future, I will schedule Carl's to do the duct cleaning. They said they are as thorough as they are with the duct sealing, which took about four hours or so. Everyone I dealt with through Carl's were kind, patient, HONEST, caring and considerate. No surprises. They were able to partially finance me at 5.9% fixed rate. My credit Union took care of the rest with 7% fixed rate. I feel fortunate, grateful and secure that this job was fair and excellent in quality. The furnace and A. C. system is very quiet. The thermostat has an L.E.D. touch screen, installed with care and skill just where I wanted it. The product and the company are tops. For security and trustworthiness investing in these kinds of services, like the city inspector conferred, you can't go wrong with Rite Way aka, Carl's Service LLC.

The house is a rental so the tenant was anxious to have the A/C working properly Carl's responded quickly to my call for service and repair the a/c unit in a timely manner.

They were about the same as everybody else. Overall, they were average. Their responsiveness was fine. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They were on time. I wouldn’t consider using them in the future.

We had completely neglected the AC unit outside and it eventually quit. The service tech showed me exactly what had happened, exactly how to take care of it in the future, and what to look for when a fuse was blown. He did mention their service contracts but it wasn't a hard sell at all, he was a truly professional, knowledgeable, very nice young man. I would most definitely use Rite-Way again. They aren't the bargain of the century, but I was looking for a fair deal from a knowledgeable professional and I did get that.

Our experience with them was good. We were actually very happy with them. We had several people come out and give us quotes. Rite-Way was professional when they were here. They put things on their shoes as they walked in. They were courteous people. You could tell the difference between them and the other companies. We didn't have any problems when they installed the air-conditioner. The price was okay. I am sure we could have gotten a better deal elsewhere, but it was important to us that everything got done right. They were good on responsiveness.

The workers arrived on time, were clean and courteous, and did a great job!

I have used them for many years with good results so I would be willing to recommend them. I bought a 3-year contract with them so I didn't spend anything. We use them regularly. They call to make the appointment to come out twice a year. They make a reminder call. They always keep their appointments. The men that have come out have been efficient and courteous. I haven't had any women come out to do that kind of service. I really haven't priced a lot of other companies so I can't tell how their price compares. The quality of work is excellent. The one thing that they always do that I really appreciate is when they come in the house they put booties on their feet so that they don't bring in any outside trash. If you are the one that cleans the house, you appreciate it. They will be coming here in a couple of weeks.

The technician arrived slightly ahead of time (their personnel are always prompt) and went right to work, taking time to explain parts of the process that may not have been familiar. I just have had a lot of different service from them recently and although I've spent a good sum of money with them, I feel that the price has been fair and the work has been top quality. This company is obviously committed to good service from the telephone personnel to the on-site techs. Over the past 8 years or so that I've worked with Rite Way, they have really come through for me, even in the very heat of summer when I know they have been overwhelmed with business. I cannot say enough good things about this company and recommend them whole heartedly.

I choose them after serveral bids because of the saleperson who came to the house. He looked over my unit, went into the attic to look at the ductwork, checked the outlets in the house. After all this he was able to provide me with an estimate and to let me know the efficiency of the units they sell that would work best for my house. He was just wonderful, the company should be proud to have him on their staff.

Earlier once they said they would be here at 8 and did not show up till 10. That was very annoying. Now they have changed their attitude and now they are much better at providing good customer service. I have a five year contract with them. It appears that they did the right job the last time they came. I have not had any complaints. I don?t have a problem with their work but their punctuality. The last time they were on time.

Bidding was extremely professional / photos on condition of all old roof units. Options included different price levels for units. Competitive maintenance package submitted as well. Not only was this the best price for the quality of equipment but the bid was very complete and professional and delivered in lightening speed. I took four bids and the last bid trickled in 3 weeks later.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! From the first visit to get an estimate, every representative from Rite-Way was honest, professional, punctual and extremely knowledgeable. Everything was taken care of to include permits, materials, and clean up. The day we had it done, they called before arriving at 7:30am. They worked non stop and asked us if we had any question of concerns. We did have a problem with the air not blowing in the bathrooms. One of them got into the duct work, found the problem, and now every room has equal air flow. They were upfront with every "might" and none of them came to be, but if they did, we were prepared. They fixed the furnace floor, registers, and connection messed up by the person who installed it and brought everything up to code. They were professional and respectful of my home, and I will tell everyone I know to use them for any HVAC needs!!!

We received quotes from several contractors, these guys were by far the most professional though not the cheapest (the lowest quoted $400 dollars less). Every step of the way, the servicemen went beyond expectations. They replaced duct work, gauges, re-sized vents, leveled our closet, patched up a wall, overall they spent 10 hours (had to return the next day to finish) for a job that was quoted for 6 all because our builders left gaping holes in our interior. They did not charge us beyond the initial quote. In the end, we got more than our money's worth. I would call these guys again!

The service in 2009 went well when they fixed the errors from the previous work done in 2008. We had a condensate pump installed and the work for them coming back cost us $150.00 which was for parts only. I am rating Carls Service for 2009 and not the subcontractor we had in 2008.

When they finally came the work was good.

It was fine. We signed a maintenance agreement with them.

They installed the original unit on another property and when it rains it leaks and when I call and they won't return my calls and when they do they tell me to call my insurance. The price listed is for installing the original unit.

They were very good. They were punctual and did everything they said they would do! It was expensive.

Very badly. Overall, service technician was not properly trained. It took many calls to get them to fix the unit properly. After this time the following was discovered. 8/1/07 - technician had taken a 20" X 25" filter and cut it down to 20" X 20" and taped together. Why he did this since the filter was only 26 days old is still a mystery. 12/07 - had another company come out to service the unit since heat pump was not working. He discovered the new circuit board installed by Rite Way didn't work and had been bypassed by the Rite Way technician to work the a/c unit (aka the new board didn't work and they knew it). 12/07 - I contacted the company and they will replace the circuit board I purchased from them. I'm very disappointed with their service and will no longer use them.

Stated they would be doing work at 8am, did not show and when called stated they might not show up until after 9am.

They did a really good job. The installation went well and the system works exactly like they said it would. This was a high efficiency system and my bill is now half of what it was. I would use them in the future.

I really don't have anything negative to say about them. They were a little expensive but did a great job. They were very professional and always answered any questions I came up with.

They are reliable and I have used them for years. They were on time and courteous. When they came in my house, they put those little booties over their shoes to keep my floors clean. I was very happy with the service and I would recommend them to other people.
