+ -1 moreBasic alarm service with old technology....they do call when alarm goes off. I usually know first as I get email notification. No cameras, no windows, 1 key remote....seems expensive when there is bettr technology. They wanted to sell me upgraes....for hundreds and hundreds of extra dollars.
Description of Work: Installed door alarm, motion sensors....had fire alarm...but removed it. Had a 3 years contract....currently month-to-month

+ 0 moreProtection One was very quick to install the security system get paid and to get the monthly check. The account was open for over four years and we have tried to get it closed for the past two years (since 2009). Protection One was not willing to help and not follow through on the request from the customer (us). I have finally contacted the local news station for help in getting this account closed. and will contact Pima County social services for vulnerable adults. This company is suppose to be providing security services and they are making my mother a nervous wreck. Please be careful in authorizing monthly EFT check payments to this company. Once they get the OK they won't let you close and release the authorization and close the account. What a nightmare!!!
Description of Work: We are going through an issue with a National and local Tucson Company that provides home security monitoring called Protection One, 2505 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson, AZ 85712 520-323-6565 www.protectionone.com.My mother (87 years old) has been trying to cancel her account since 2009. Protection One has refused to honor her request and continues to withdraw $35.00 from her checking account monthly. She had finally given up. The people at Protection One have used scare tactics, told her that they would do things and did not. Finally this week, when I (her son) began to help her I found out very quickly that this company was not going to honor my mothers wishes by closing the account and continue to take her money against her wishes. Today I spoke to a woman named Tanya at Protection One in Witchita, Ks and told her I was going to the Pima county social services for vulnerable adults and to my mothers bank to get this account closed. Tanya said she was closing the account today 9/15/2011 and no more money would be withdrawn.I am/was very concerned how this company lied and would not honor the wishes of my mother for the past two years. It was not until I requested outside intervention that the company began to pay attention to our request. I am very disturbed by this and how vulnerable my mother's checking account was to this company. We will see that if they follow through with their commitment.My mother was not willing to stand up to these people (I think they new it) and I believe she is and was and is being taken advantage of by Protection One.Thank you for your time.

+ -1 moreThe rep showed up on time and explained the paperwork and program. The system was installed as ordered. Customer service was nice and answered questions, helped me walk through the practice session and set up on-line access. The Smartphone program is a handy feature. The availability of add-on options is nice, though pricey. I haven't had any alarms that required a response time to call me. There was a system power outage in which I got an email notice on while away...however, no email to confirm power was back on. I had to get a friend to go over and check the system, which had stayed active. The CSR was very nice to walk us through checking the system to make sure it wasn't equipment failure. Another confusion is billing...it's quarterly and somehow I have a credit...no one can tell me when I'm to get a bill next (automatic billing) and what the next quarter's amount will actually be. I guess I'll have to wait until it shows up in my checking account, which more than likely get bounced as I don't know the date it'll get posted.
Description of Work: Installation of home alarm system, hardwired with battery backup. Remote access from Smartphone and any computer. Upfront cost of $500. There's a monthly monitoring fee, which I added the remote access also.
