+ -1 moreWhile thier price is a little higher than others, overall the people at Pioneer are great and truly provide the best quality of work. We ran in to a hiccup with one of thier drywall contractors, and did not agree with how they completed the work. The person from Pioneer was great, came over to look at it. They said the way the work was completed was okay within the industry, but since I was the customer and did not like the way it was completed, they tore it out and started over. There was no extra charge or anything. Will I use them again? Absolutly!
Description of Work: Removal of concrete shower pan and subfloor (about 2 foot of concrete), replace and relocate shower drain. Install new showerpan and re-drywall entire bathroom.

+ -1 moreWe were satisfied with them. They did an excellent and professional work. We have been using them for several years. We had some major plumbing problems and they fixed them very well. We had a waterwheel which was nearly $700 and that had a leak under the house. They came immediately and didn't charge us extra. They just did a fantastic work. Instead of going under the driveway where the path was, they just left that there and started a new path on the side of the house which was really short and went straight to the point which saved us thousands of dollars. They were extremely professional and their price was just really reasonable. Their service was excellent. Their price was fair because of Angie's List.

+ -1 moreI contracted with Pioneer to install a short gas line into my kitchen for a new gas range. The quality of the installation was excellent, but with this company you pay by the hour - not the job. So I ended up paying for numerous trips to the truck and lengthy searches for parts. They gagged a little when I presented them with the Angie's List 10% off coupon, and after a lengthy telephone conference with the front office, I was presented with a bill just $5.23 less than the original sight-unseen estimate of $400 received over the telephone. No surprise there. (This paragraph was my original submission to Angie's List.) After Pioneer Plumbing received a copy of the above from Angie's List, I was contacted by the General Manager (Jim Foster) who reqested an opportunity to examine the project in person. He agreed that the price was too high and should have been priced at one man for two hours, rather than two men for 2 1/2 hours. I was issued a refund check on January 18, 2012 As a result of the quick resolution of my concerns, and Jim's professionalism, I have amended my original report as indicated above. I would definitely use this firm again.
Description of Work: Installation of a short (approx) six ft, 3/4" gas line from the gas meter through the exterior wall of the house into the kitchen to connect with a new gas range. One tee, one nipple, several elbows, one pipe, two pipe hangers (attached to the exterior wall) and a valve with a plug.

I will definitely call Pioneer again when it's time to do more. (No trouble with the 10% discount, either.)
Description of Work: Disconnect a failed traditional hot water heater, rootle my main sewer lines (I do this once a year) install a new hose bib, install an outdoor shower faucet, connect an on-demand hot water heater, and replace a toilet flush handle.

Description of Work: Except for what I consider overcharging, my experience was good overall. Details follow. Pioneer took my call and answered all my questions thoroughly. They provided a breakdown of charges I could anticipate. I set an appointment for 1:30. The plumber arrived at 1:45; not bad in the world of home repair. I had a wet spot in the carpet in my master bathroom; I knew it was coming from inside the wall. The plumber removed the sink counter top, the base cabinet and cut out a section of dry wall. He found that the original lath/stucco company had missed the stud when nailing and driven two nails into the water line. It had taken several years from when the house was was built, for the nails to rust and start seeping. The plumber cut out and removed the line and replaced it with a new section. At that point, his work was finished. He sat down in the living room and prepared the bill. He finished writing at 3:46; exactly two hours and one minute from when he arrived. His bill was for 2 hours and 15 minutes; an additional $23.00. When I asked him why there was an additional quarter hour on the bill he said he was required to charge for the time it took to get to his next appointment. What? Change your prices, but don't tell me you're charging me for driving to your next customer. The company did remind me to print out the coupon for savings. I think this must be their way of recovering the price discount. Bottom line, they arrived roughly when they said they would, they knew what they we're doing and they didn't take longer than they should have to do it. Except for bumping up the price at the end, I'm pleased with the work.

+ 1 moreThe work was started on Friday afternoon by digging a hole about 6 feet deep to reach the mail drain line. Ray and Shaun broke through the pipe in order to clear the blockage and were able to snake and flush the line to restore drainage from the house. At that point it was late in the day and since I chose to have ground level cleanout piping installed, they had to order the appropriate parts and planned to finish the job on the following Wednesday (12/7). Unfortunately, we experienced heavy rains during the next two days and the drain line to the city sewer became clogged with mud that had washed into the pipe. On Monday morning (12/5) I called Pioneer to ask if they could come that day to flush the line again. I was very pleased and surprised when they said that a crew would be at our home that afternoon to not only clear the piping but to also install the ground level cleanout piping. Jesse and his partner arrived right on schedule and finished the whole job, including filling the hole in the ground and raking the surrounding area so that it was almost impossible to see where the work had been done.All in all, I feel that Pioneer Plumbing, Inc. is a superior organization, from Betty in the office who was very sympathetic and helpful, to the men who actually did the work. Everyone involved was pleasant, polite, courteous and professional. I hope we never have this kind of problem again, but if we do I'll definitely call on Pioneer Plumbing again.
Description of Work: With my wife about to come home after an extended stay in a hospital and a rehabilitation facility, both of our toilets and showers were backed up with water because of damage to the main discharge line to the city sewer line.

+ 0 moreFirst Kendall came and gave me an estimate. Unfortunately, since my water heater was installed so long ago, the code had changed and he also had to install new pipes and valves. He quoted me a price that would not exceed $1200 depending on whether complications were encountered during installation. He was very professional and helpful and did not charge for the estimate. The following week, Kendall came out to do the install. He was willing to come earlier, but since my old heater was still working, I preferred the later date. He did an excellent job, was very courteous and professional and while he worked he educated me about the water heater and showed me how to drain it every 6 months to keep it in the best shape. The cost ended up being $300 below the estimate, and I paid $900 which included the 10% Angies List discount.. I was happy with the price, since I consider it a fair one for the material and work done. I recommend this company and Kendall highly.
Description of Work: I had a new gas hot water heater installed since the old one was over 15 years old.

On time and although the cost was more than expected, it was my ultimate decision to replace the valve and position everything inside the boxes above ground for easy access in case there are future issues. Further, as a vendor on Angie's list, I had noticed on their page that there was a 10% discount coupon. I printed the coupon before Cliff arrived, but realized after he completed the job that I'd forgotten to have him factor in the coupon. I called their office and explained this and was promised a 10% credit to my debit card. While I haven't seen the credit yet, I fully expect it either has or will be processed.
Description of Work: I had a water leak that originated in the area of my water meter and it saturated the ground and street in front of my home. I contacted Pioneer and they responded sooner than the estimated time I was given. The technician, Cliff was extremely knowledgeable and set out immediately to locate the source of the leak. Fortunately, he found the leak in short order and it was very close to the meter. He also noticed my Pressure Relief Valve was buried and should not have been. The function of the valve was suspicious and after listening to the explanation, I agreed to replace it. Cliff repaired the leak and within 2 hours was finished. He returned, as promised early the next morning and installed a new valve and meter box with a cover to match the existing box.

+ 0 morePlumbing backed up on a Sunday, the day before a major family gathering at our house. I called three different plumbers, 2 of then never called back. Pioneer called back right away and dispatched someone to the house within a couple of hours. The plumber tried to use the septic clean-out, but we couldn't find it. So he had to remove the toilet to unclog the drain. There was some sort of bandage clogging the drain, which he showed to me. He was friendly, efficient, took care to clean -up after he was done. I'd definitely use Pioneer again.
Description of Work: Plumbing backed up, and flooded house on a Sunday. Pioneer responeded promptly, were friendly, courteous, professional, and efficient. He had to remove the toilet to unclog the pipes

I did not even want that water softener because my husband is not supposed to have salt, and he even helped put it into a garbage truck for me. He referred me to another company saying that they would take care of everything, and they did. He was real sharp. The price was reasonable, and the quality of the work was great. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

+ 0 moreThe company did send a plumber out that afternoon and he did resolve the immediate problem. My disappointment is due to the fact that they did not look any further than that one spot. On August 26th while at the house, there was another issue with the other toilet. I suggested that my daughter-in-law call the company back as it appears to be related. I thought there may be some form of warranty. She did call and had to leave a message and wait for a call back. When she was able to actually speak with a gentleman in the office, he informed her that they do not warranty ANY of their work. Needless to say I will not be using or referring them to anyone again. I will be going with another company for my water treatment system.
Description of Work: Pioneer Plumbing was called to resolve a problem with a clogged/overflowing toilet at my sons house. I had previous experience with this company re: estimate for the installation of a water treatment system. The tech that came out was very professional and I felt this would be a good company to use for the above problem. It took several attempts via phone to contact the office. Once I was able to speak with someone in the office, they assured me that someone would contact my son and set up a time for that afternoon. They held somewhat true to their word, as I had to call a few times to make sure they were actually coming out due to the fact that several hours went by before my son received a call.

+ -1 moreCalled to make an appointment and was reminded to print out the coupon on Angies List to recieve a 10% discount on parts. Was told a technician would arrive between 8-8:30. Stan arrived promplty at 8:15. We discussed the water heater replacement and how it would be done. He answered a few of my questions and was polite and extremely professional. Work was completed cleanly and quickly. Stan explained the new features of the water heater and maintenance. He was very patient, courteous and knowledgable. I've used other plumbing companies and never felt the need to call any of them back for repeat business. I've since called Pioneer back for help with a separate issue in my guest bath and was just as satisified with the service, cost and professionalism. Stan arrived again on time and asked me how my water heater was working and if I had any issues or questions. He fixed my leak in my tub and told me about the options on how to proceed with our faucet replacements (apparently I have an old style valve that is no longer made). He even suggested where I could find them in town and what to look for to insure it would be compatible. Again, he gave me options before proceeding and completed the work quickly. I would highly recommend Pioneer and will call on them again for any future plumbing needs.
