Description of Work: Peter and his helper, Benjamin, returned to paint the front (east) and side (north) of our house as requested. They removed the old metal bird spikes that the birds had bent and made nests in, cleaned off the bird poop, removed or covered the window solar screens, spray painted the stucco, painted the trim, installed new plastic bird spikes, cut wire mesh and stapled and glued the mesh over the attic vents to prevent bees from entering, and then painted the chimney and exhaust pipes on the roof.

Description of Work: Peter and his helper painted the south and west exterior sides of our home (they were in the worst condition because of sun damage). They had to remove the sunscreens on our windows and the bird spikes above our windows before painting. They installed new bird spikes as the old ones were bent (I learned that the large birds can bend the metal ones, but not the plastic ones). They sprayed and then backrolled the stucco and brushed on the paint over the wood. They also cleaned and then applied two coats of a waterproof material I bought from Ace that I supplied for the floor of the balcony. I also supplied all of the Behr ultra paint.

Description of Work: We purchased a two-story stucco house last year, hearing from the inspector that we would need to paint the outside sooner rather than later. When the monsoon season came, we notice that the outside of our house stayed wet in spots. I had heard on the Rosie on the House radio program how important it is to keep your house well painted to avoid water infiltration. We wanted to start by having our house caulked and got Peter to give us estimates for both caulking and painting. We told him that we wanted to have him do the caulking now because there was not only a huge bee nest under the eave of the roof when we bought it, but we also had to have a bee nest removed this past summer. We had heard stories of bees building nests inside attics and people not knowing about it until the honey began dripping down inside their walls. Since our house seems to attract bees, we decided that the caulking should be done without further delay. Peter caulked around the eaves of our house and all of the other cracks around windows and drain pipes. He is a conscientious worker and he charges a reasonable rate. We had received a couple of estimates last year and one was twice the amount that Peter estimated for painting our house and the other was a little more than half. Judging by how well Peter did the caulking, we believe he will also do a good job painting our house.
