 + -1 morewn and would be back on the 23rd and do job on 24th. Called for estimate on 8-7. Gave estimate on 8-18. picked up deposit on 8-9. Said he would do job on 8-13 Called and said he would do job on 8-14. Called and said he would do job on 8-16. Did not show up. I called him and his message said he lost phone. Sent and email and siad he left town and would do job on 24th. Found new number on new ad and called him. Said he was still out of town and would send me a check. I am not holding my breath.
Description of Work: He was prompt when it came to getting deposit. two weeks later never showed up and he says he is out of town and will send me a check. We will see.

 + -1 moreBen took 2 weeks to give us an estimate and another 2 weeks to start the work he always has an excuse for being late or postponing date,ex. sick, its raining, had to finish another job and so forth.the first day he had to leave after about 15mins to go to ace hardware to buy something he "forgot" and returned about 45min later. He then said he would be back tomorrow to finis the other room but never returned his supplies are still here. When my husband called him to as him when he would be finishing the work he acted like he didn't know what he was talking about but would be here tomorrow. Tomorrow never came. Never received estimate for 2 motion lights.
Description of Work: electrical outlet installed in laundry room where there was a previous one but removed, check a malfunctioning plug receptacle, install new outlets 2 closets with chain pull light holder with plug, run line to entertainment center with the cable hookup extension. give estimate for installation of two outside motion lights Total estimate $500.00 but gave him $250 down.

 + 0 moreAlthough Ben had the flu which caused him to postpone the job for a few days, he kept us updated and got here as soon as he was feeling better. He finished most of the work in one day and only had to return for a couple hours the following day. The job went smoothly (except that our cable wire got cut while trenching for the plumbing - but he fixed it quickly.) He's a nice young man, we feel comfortable having him work here, and we have him on our radar for even more jobs.
Description of Work: Ben replaced our garage door opener, poured some cement, and did some plumbing work so we can now turn the hose on and off from the back yard instead of going around to the front.

Description of Work: Ben took one look at our garage door and saw why it wasn't working. We really should have seen it ourselves. Only needed to replace a bolt. The charge was minimal and we liked him so well that we have already scheduled additional work we want done.

 + 0 moreBen brought a garage door company owner with him who happened to be available from a different job Ben was doing. While Ben could not repair the door opener, the estimate I got from the garage door company was fair. The garage door opener was installed the next day, earlier than anticipated freeing up my weekend. While Ben did not perform the work himself, he called later that day to find out if the job was completed to my satisfaction. I appreciate working with local companies and having someone such as Ben who, if he cannot do the work himself, has connections to other service personnel. And then he follows up to see if work is done. I'll call upon him again when I need handyman or other home maintenance work done.
Description of Work: Owner Ben Pagel responded promptly for my call for help. My garage door opener no longer worked. I chose Ben because he was local, and offered other services besides garage door repair.

 + -1 moreI am happy with price and what I have, I am not with the service once the job is done, invoices, finish, follow up.
Description of Work: At first I had a great timely response and then it got to the typical service provider unprofessionalism. I was happy with the work done, but now I am noticing that the finish is not that good, board not screwed very tightly, kennel door not close enough to the other edge in order to close, he had to add a metallic bar so it closed. Ben ditched a few days without calling. It took me 3 calls at least so he come and cleans up. Now I am angry because I have been asking for the invoices for over 2 months, and he still did not give them to me. He is a very nice guy and wants to be right but when I have to call an average of 3 times to get things done and when I keep on having promises on getting invoices and I don't, then I don't trust the guy any longer. I don't really feel like calling a fourth time for them. Make sure everything is done exactly as estimate says. Mine was not, I was happy with what I have and still am but, it what he did was not exactly what he said he would do. He rebuilt a garden shed for me. I was going to re-hire him for a lot more stuff, but I am not after all. He promised I would have my invoices 3 weeks ago, I am still waiting, that is for me a red light. You can hire him for work that does not have to be very meticulous, for remodeling and serious stuff, I would not.

 + 0 moreMy garage door wouldn't open or close. The electronic opener had failed. I called Ben and asked if he could replace the opener or if I needed to call a garage door company. He said he could do it. When he came out, he discovered that the door itself, was needing work or replacement. He suggested working on the current door, rather than replacing it, thus saving me money.
Description of Work: Replaced the garage door opener and reinforced the garage door. The door is getting old. Screws were loose and one panel needed a length of metal to strengthen it. The less desirable option would have been to replace the entire door with a new one. The current door will now go for awhile longer, thanks to Ben's efforts.
