Absolute 5-star service from the Mr. Electric Service Professional Matthew Y. Called for a quote to replace three outlets, with new GFCI receptacles as the home built in 1963 was not wired with grounding wires on an outward facing wall. I share this context as material condition of the wiring, wall outlets and panel boxes are much more challenging to work with after ~ 60 years. Called Mr. Electric on 6/4, Matthew arrived and provided a quote on 6/5 – we approved the quote the morning of 6/6 and Matthew was out that afternoon to execute / complete the project. Couple key points: Matthew was an absolute professional, no ifs, ands or watts about it! Never felt upsold, he explained all of my options and clearly walked us through the pros and cons of each option. Matthew was patient and confident. For example, the faceplate screws on one outlet box were cut off and required a punch and to be drilled out….Matthew handled it like a pro and all three new outlets are level, work wonderfully and he conducted a thorough site cleanup – also very important, the quote was more than reasonable. Shout out to Mr. Electric and thank you Matthew for the great service.

I was pretty disappointed with the follow through. I called for emergency service with a quote for 99 and told to expect a call within 24-48 hours. The dispatch center called me three days later and asked if anyone had been out to service our address. They apologized and took full responsibility that our service claim ultimately fell through the cracks and that they would send someone out same day. The technician then quoted me 290 because it was after hours and on a busier day. The dispatch center tried to help by having the manager call me to see how things got mixed up. Ultimately I was told I could pay the new price, schedule a service for 3+ weeks out, or kick rocks. At this point, my trust is gone. I wish that it would have just gone as planned.

Tim w/Mr. Electric came over to my apartment to give me an estimate on an outlet repair. Although I didn't hire him, as the work would cost more than I was prepared to spend on this particular project, I will definitely use Mr. Electric again (and request Tim), as he was an outstanding service technician with exceptional professional manners. I'll even give Tim and Mr. Electric, the company, as referrals to friends who may ask.

The technician opened the dimmer box in the wall, worked on it and told me he hightened the intensity of the light. He turned the lights on, said: “Look, they’re ok now, so I can’t do anything else!” We paid $250.00 and he said the work would be under warranty. That same evening I turned the lights on and 5 minutes later they dimmed down all over sudden without anyone touching the dimmer! The company Mr Electric is not willing to come out and do the job right. They want another $279.00 for coming out and exchanging the dimmer! After telling them that we want them to come out and finish the job we paid already for, they offered to do that for an additional $129.09!!!! The work is under warranty and they should do what they promise....BUT THEY PREFER TO COMMIT FRAUD. Truly disgusting.

Tech (Zack) spent about 10 minutes in house while I showed him problem. He then went outside to Main box, checked a few things and told me I needed a new main circuit breaker. He then gave me a price of $647.84 for repair and gave me scare prices of additional things of &950, & &3000 up to $5000. After price quote, I assumed he was giving me fair price for work involved and he knew what he was doing so I ok'd work. He then called TEP to have meter removed and went to HOME Depot (about 25 min) to get breaker. TEP arrived while he was gone & waited for him. They removed the meter and Zack said "I'll have it fixed in 10 minutes" & he did. I went inside-lights were back on-went outside & Zack asked if all worked-I said "Seems too". He left. Apparently he was supposed to do a safety check also but didn't. The next day I was told I was "gouged" as price should have been under $250. Talked to "Brad" (owner?) about reducing my payment since only spent about 1 hour at house but he would only give me 20% or he would be losing money. I said not good enough & offered $250. Again, he repeated spacious argument he would lose money as profit was 20%. Apparently he needs & $600 per hour hour to make any profit. If he received $250 from me he still gets his 20% profit but is not overcharging a person not versed in electrical requirements & told of various other expensive possibilities. This is out and out price gouging of a trusting customer. Beware. I have invoice showing installing of breaker with no other work or material and cost to me of $647.84. Do not use the contractor. I am also filing complaints with AZ registrar of contractors, B.B.B. & his Franchise issuer.

They charged me $225 to estimate the problem. I already knew the problems. He fixed one and MISDIAGNOSED the other which sent me out for hours looking for a part. I finally went to ACE and bought the part I knew it needed (not the one they told me it needed) and fixed it myself. When I complained they reduced the price $50. All the guy did was re-align the chain in one fan.

Response from Mr. Electric of Tucson
Ms. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for letting me know what your experience was like. Upon my research I found that your original bill was $212.75 and Kelly discounted it to $149.00. This is a DISCOUNT OF $63.75. I show the job was done ON MARCH 22ND 2017. Our tech went to your home two times once when he troubleshoot one ceiling fan and put together and installed another ceiling fan and a second time to install and repair the first ceiling fan he troubleshot before. This was all done for $149.00. The first trip was for approximately 1 hour and the second trip he installed another ceiling fan for you which took a little over one hour. This is a cost of approximately $74.50 per hour. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY HUGH DISCOUNT that was given to help alleviate this problem and still cover some of the work time when he installed both ceiling fans for you. Because Christopher had put together and installed installed two ceiling fans and made sure that they were installed correctly to code and upon speaking to you back in March when you seemed to be happy with the service it was never escalated to me. Both my technician and my CSR have been dealt with. Please call me tomorrow between the hours of 9am and 2pm and I will personally try to fix this.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], I have checked our database and we do not show your name or address in our customer database. Our customers are very important to us. We are a reputable company who has been in Tucson since 1994. We are professional, provide quality service and warranty all our work. Please contact me immediately so I can investigate and resolve this issue. If you can let me know what name and address you used when we went out it would help me research and resolve this situation since I'm not showing that you are or were a customer of ours and your review is so negative it GREATLY CONCERNS ME. We are a smaller office, with 2 girls and keep copies of all our invoices in a computer database so we should show you in there if we did work for you but you are not showing up either by address or name as our company having done any work for you. Are you sure it was Mr. Electric that came out? We warranty all our work. If you had an issue and called us our protocol is to send out the Electrical supervisor to review all the work done and then repair/rectify the situation. Our electricians have a minimum of 11 years experience and a maximum of 35 years experience so they are very capable of finding any issues and performing their jobs very effectively. We are a very professional company who provides quality work . If you have a problem you could just call us. My name is Rachael you can reach me at 520-795-5940. I can help you.

The technician showed up exactly when their scheduler said he would. He looked at my electrical panel and inspected the 3 outlets I wanted grounded, then quoted me a price of $1200, which I thought was a bit high but not outrageously so. However, he refused to even consider running the wiring through the attic and insisted that he had to run conduit around the outside of the house and punch through the wall to the locations of the existing outlets. He decided this without even looking in the attic or determining how the existing wiring had been run. Unfortunately, I was desperate and did not have time to get any other estimates (I needed a grounded electrical outlet within 24 hours for medical reasons), so I told him to go ahead and do it. What he neglected to tell me is that he was going to run the conduit along the middle of my wall all the way around 2 sides of my house. I had expected he would have ran it along the ground or under the eaves so that it was at least partially concealed from site. I should have asked, so this was at least partially my fault. To make my experience with the company even worse, about 18 months later, their internal bill collectors started calling me claiming I had never paid them, even though I had paid with a check the same day they did the work. I had to send a copy of my bank statement showing the funds withdrawn from my account and a copy of the check showing they had endorsed it before they would quit calling me on a daily basis.

VERY favorably impressed. I called the provider for service after 8 pm on a holiday weekend, explaining the problem to the answering service. I was told that a technician could come between 9 and 11 pm. The technician, Damian, called me back promptly, to determine the specifics of the problem. He then called again before his actual arrival, keeping me updated on arrival time, which I really appreciated. He arrived at 10:30, just as he indicated on his last call to me . Damian was friendly , courteous and cheerful, despite having come all the way across town late on a holiday weekend night, for a repair that was not , technically, an emergency. He was extremely knowledgeable. I was impressed with the methodical way in which he approached the problem. He completed the entire repair, within the exact "diagnostic cost " estimate he had given me when he arrived. No idea of typical costs for this type of service but I felt the price was quite fair for the time of day and length of job and there were NO hidden charges. Well worth the money to have gotten it taken care of that same night. While he was there, despite it being after midnight, by the time the repair was finished, Damian cheerfully offered suggestions for another, less pressing electrical issue I mentioned. Will definitely call on him to do this repair at a later date.
Description of Work: Flipped a circuit breaker around 8 pm and was unable to reset the switch, leading me to assume there was a short. Unable to open or close garage door and had power out in several rooms, but not the entire house . The technician did an orderly and thorough troubleshooting and found the source of the problem (which was nowhere I would have thought it would be located). Repaired the necessary wires, put everything back and neatly closed off a faulty and unneeded electric switch, to avoid future mishaps.

Damian came out and did an estimate for me. I told him to go ahead and do the work. He was professional and polite and cleaned up after himself. Damian ran phone lines from the outside of my house, up thru the attic, down into the garage and into the room in the place I requested for the jack. He installed the jack and tested the lines so everything was ready for the phone company to put my land lines in. I will use Mr. Electric again happily.

Damian called with a time he could come out and give me an estimate for the work. He came on time and inspected the areas, and told me what would be required to do the work and the approximate cost of the work. I needed a phone line to run from the phone box up to my attic, thru the attic to the other side of the house. thru the wall and have the 3 line jack installed. Damian installed a phone line from the box, up the wall, into the attic and down the inside of the wall in the office. Damian then sealed around the hole where the wire was going into the attic. He then cleaned up and I paid for the services. Damian was polite and professional and knows his work very well.

We had purchased a house with old wiring that was not up to code (nothing grounded), and it also had a lot of bad DIY wiring by the previous owner. We had Damien come give us an estimate, and he was very nice, professional, and thorough in looking at everything we wanted to update. He closely inspected all our old wiring and electrical boxes. He went up into the crawl space and determined that he could do the majority of the work without cutting holes in the walls. His estimate was higher than the others we had received, but he also had discovered things about our old wiring that the others had all missed and that would have made the outlet grounding alone that the others quoted ineffective (because there was no grounding to our entire system at all). Damien was punctual and even would call us when he was on his way. He worked tirelessly for 3 days, basically rewiring our entire house, and eventhough it took more hours than he had anticipated, he never attempted to charge us more than the initial estimate. The work was beautiful and he cleaned thoroughly before he left. When there was something I had thought he was going to do that he hadn't realized I had wanted done, he came back immediately and did it, no questions asked and no additional charge. Several months later, we hired Damien to install ceiling fans and a bathroom fan. Again he did a great job and was very professional. In my experience with Mr. Electric, they are friendly, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. They do seem to be a bit more expensive than other electricians, however, they also seem much more honest and technically skilled - you are getting a higher-quality service.
Description of Work: Grounding of wiring throughout house, installation of GFCI outlets in kitchen and baths, replacing other outlets, adding new outlets, removing unwanted landscape lighting, cleaning up DIY wiring by previous homeowner, etc. Installation of five ceiling fans we provided, installation of new bathroom fan.

This company figures their prices by a corporate book, which is probably why they are so high priced. Just not what you want from a Tucson company.
Description of Work: We called for an estimate for three small electrical jobs: install new remote control for ceiling fan, rewire yard pole light electricity, and cap off outside electrical outlet. The "technician" who showed up was polite, but he was more of a salesman than electrician and wanted to sell us an additional surge protection and "Advantage Plan" warranty. The estimate was free, but we had to pay $170 ($188 minus Angie's List discount) for a diagnostic test for him to confirm that there was electricity at the outlet -- this service was overpriced and inaccurate. We felt that the estimate even without the extras was very high, so we found another electrician listed through Angie's List.

Response from Mr. Electric of Tucson
We are so sorry that you were not pleased with our performance. At no time do we ever want our customers to be dissatisfied with the service they receive from our company. I took the liberty to look into your invoice and found that the time spent on your job was 2 hours and 14 minutes. As you very well know most electricians charge by the hour and round up to half hour increments they also charge a trip charge just to go to the appoinment. With our company you will never be charged a trip charge and our price is all inclusive. You were charged $163.00 for a little over 2 hours of work and this does not include any type of trip charge. Thats $81.50 per hour, rounding down, this is actually lower than most electricians charge here in Tucson. OUR GOAL IS NOT TO OUTPRICE THE COMPETITION but to FAIRLY PRICE FOR THE CUSTOMER. THE PRICE YOUR QUOTED NEVER CHANGES ITS NOT AN ESTIMATE ITS A PROMISE! WETHER THE JOB TAKES 2 HOURS OR 10 HOURS YOU WILL NEVER PAY MORE THAN YOU ARE QUOTED. Please call me, I would like to further discuss this issue with you and make this right. Our goal is to provide superior customer service. I look forward to hearing from you. Mr. Martinez made an estimate for the work on 9/9/2011 and did the work on 9/14/2011. He was extremely professional, polite and worked making a minimum of dirt and noise, and he politely answered every question and explained what he was doing at every step in the process. While other electricians had estimated the work with cuts and wholes in the sheetrock, Mr. Martinez actually went into the ceiling crawlspace at the time of the estimate and determined that no sheetrock cutting would have to be done. When he completed the project (in three different rooms), there was no evidence that he had been there except for the expert completion of the work! We have future electrical work planned for the coming year, and we will request Mr. Martinez specifically for the projects. Overall, we had an excellent, professional experience from estimate through completion.
Description of Work: Substantial electrical work was preformed for wall wiring, three new ceiling fan installations, and new switches in multiple rooms. Wiring was done through the attic crawl space, ceiling mounts and new switches were created, and the fans were assembled and installed.

Seemed that the wiring itself was uncomplicated but the new track lighting was somewhat more complicated to install as it was not just a fixed track but an adjustable(bendable) one but the tech did an excellent job and took his time in installing it. He also did two small tracks in our laundry room. Would definitely have him do any other work that we might need.
