Description of Work: Went in during the week, wasn't busy. Tried to get some answers on some fruit trees, and some other trees. There was a person working out by the trees did call for assistance two times, but after 40 minutes I gave up. They are very expensive, so I do look for some service, questions answered. I had picked up a couple hundred dollars worth of plants, but I just put them back and went to Home Depot Nursery. You have to look over the Home Depot plants, but for the most part associates answer you questions and the plants that I have bought there are of good quality.

I've purchased 6 trees, vegetable garden plants, seeds and their brand of fertilizer over several years at Mesquite Valley . The staff is helpful and the nursery has excellent pamphlets for planting, fertilizing, etcetera that are helpful for the novice, are brief, accurate and to the point. I've also had some bug problems and the guy they have on staff to diagnose problems is very knowledgeable, friendly and prefers less toxic solutions to the pests, which I prefer. The return policy is less generous than the "big box stores" but the plants are healthy, robust and pest free. Also, you get great care instruction pamphlets so if you kill it it's very likely your fault. I like the nursery staff, the quality of their plants, and will continue to use it and recommend it.
Description of Work: I purchased 6 trees (Australian Finger Lime, Moro blood orange, Minneola Tangelo, Red Flame Grapefruit, two Chilean Mesquites) and garden plants over several years. Help in dealing with a pest problem.

The staff made recommendations based on the amount of sun versus shade the pots on our patio recieve. We purchased a number of different perennials and well as some herbs. The staff gave us planting and watering instructions. We are very pleased with the plants we purchased. You will pay a bit more here for their plants.
Description of Work: We went to Mesquite to find perennials that would do well in pots on our patio. The staff was very helpful in directing us to plants that would do well in pots both is sun and shade. The plants throughout the nusery were displayed beautifully and despite the summer heat, they all appeared to be very healthy and thriving.

Was looking for a Crape Myrtle shrub that would be harmonious with the other plantings in my garden. The nurseryman showed me a shrub that would match my color needs and the shrub he suggested was just perfect. Shrub planted and doing well.

We bought two large Trees in 24 Inch Boxes .A Texas Ebony and a Velvet Mesquite we paid $75 to have them transported to our home. Went down there twice to make sure we are picking the right Tree with right branching to our likes . The Sales Person was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful in selecting, and "seemed " to know what was important to us .On arrival the Texas Ebony looked different and I seen that some bottom branches been cut off. I was told while moving the Tree for Transport a Branch snapped and they cut this one and others on bottom . He did not do this in a reckless manner and meant well . So far so good . We did pick this Tree for the unique branching which was gone now.We did already arranged for Blue stake ( they are the ones who contact and make all Utilities and cables to be marked so they don't get damaged while digging ) and had hired someone for next day to bury the Trees . I was given the option for them to take it back . Do a other 3 hour round Trip plus Gas Money have the Guy who buried my Tree come back again and pay him extra. And who knows them as well for second Delivery. I called the owner and ask for a Discount and she was very rude and unprofessional telling me without listening that I am just trying to get Money out of her for no Reason .She could have said we don't give discounts in this Situation !!!! I told her to talk to the Salesperson who knew that I was very specific about Branching and to the delivery Man who told me what happened and why and that she could call me back and apologize. As expected she did not. .I should have real their www.yelp.com comments

I like their plants because it is grown locally so the plants are used to the area and I've never had one of their plants died yet. Usually the plants die due to too much sun, but their plants are of really good variety. They just leave everything outside nothing is covered, like in some of the other places they always put netting over the plants to keep them in the shade, but they put them outside in the sun so they do well. Also they're honest, when they say the plant is a full sun plants they really are full sun plants. Although their plants are a little expensive, I think it's worth it. Also they have 3 arborist on site ready to answer your questions.

I went to Mesquite Valley to choose a replacement for my dead citrus tree. Jody not only showed me their choice of citrus trees, but allowed me to taste the fruit as well. If you want a specific plant for your landscape, Mesquite Valley is the best.

As always, I walk away with much more than just plants: I learn something from them every time I visit.
Description of Work: Mequite Valley Growers is like the mother ship for gardeners. Just going to the nursery is a wonderful experience--so many varieties of plants and such artful design elements. I always come away with so many ideas, and the staff is happy to share their expertise whether you buy something or not. They will spend the time to educate you so that you can do even difficult landscaping tasks yourself, and have professional looking results. Anyone new to Tucson or taking on a gardening task should definitely make Mesquite Valley Growers your first (and maybe only) stop.

They have excellent stuff. I didn't spend a lot. The service was very good. They were very thorough and very knowledgeable. They are probably a little bit expensive but not much. The quality of their plants is excellent, so you get a very good plant. I haven't had any work done by them. Their responsiveness is excellent.

This nursery has to be the best in Tucson. I have been to numerous nurseries and Mesquite Valley, hands down, has the best selection of plants. We are in the process of slowly adding new landscaping to our home and any questions that we have about existing plants, what to plant or when to plant are always answered whether in person or on the phone. All the plants that we have bought from Mesquite Valley have done very well and we have not had to return one as of yet. Even if you live on the other side of town this is worth the drive although they get very busy on the weekends. Some of their prices may be a bit higher than if you were to go to a big box store, however, the quality and selection is much better and I always appreciate their helpful advice with Arizona's tricky planting season.
Description of Work: Retail nursery which stocks everything from pots, trellises, flowers, shrubs, trees, cacti, citrus, annuals and perennials.
