Description of Work: I just bought my home in June and Liquid Assets had been servicing the pool. I had Steve out to show me all the pool equipment as I have never owned a pool and asked him to keep doing the weekly maintenance for the time being. He indicated that my filters had holes in them and should be replaced. He suggested installing a DE filter as they require less maintenance and quoted prices for both that as well as cartridges. However, he did not explain clearly enough that a DE filter means replacing my entire filter machine, which is working fine. He suggested I also replace my pool brush and filter basket, I agreed, and said he would bring both the next day, which he never did. I was then out of town for a week and came back to a green pool. Steve had assumed that since he showed me all my pool equipment and how to use it that I wanted to service my own pool, even though I specifically asked him to keep doing so. I am also interested in converting to salt water so Steve quoted me a price, which I was satisfied with. I specifically told him I would like to be present for this work. We scheduled a time and I called him that morning to get a more specific time. He had completely forgotten that he was installing a salt system for me. As I also asked him to drain the pool while we were converting. He said he would bring the pump by within a few hours. That went by and he hadn't shown up so I called. He said he had forgotten that somebody else had his pool pump and that he would bring it by later that day. I went to dinner with friend and came back at 9pm and he still hadn't come. I called him to sever the relationship. I understand business people are busy and have many clients. What I can't accept is agreeing to a scheduled time and not even being called to let me know something has come up. As I told him I wanted to be there for the salt install, it is frustrating that Steve seems to think his time is more valuable than mine when he forces me to wait for him to arrive at a scheduled time and he can't even call or text to update things to say he needs to reschedule. Steve seems to know what he's doing, but he does not seem to take adequate notes on what a client is asking of him. It is frustrating to pay someone and have to constantly keep track of them to make sure they remember what services you've requested. To his credit, I have not yet received a bill from him.

Response from Liquid Assets Pool & Spas LLC
Although I do not agree with the member's point of view. I did make several attempts to appease him to no avail. I regret his posting of this review. Please note that the member's business originated with the sellers agent (not through Angies list) who employed me to assist in making emergency, same day, repairs so that the member could close on this property purchase.

I initially called Steve because the pump motor was not working. He found the problem was the capacitor, and replaced it. He could have sold me the whole motor but only replaced the problem part.. While he was here, I had him replace the fill-valve and we found that the pressure vacuum breaker was split from last winter's freeze. He also replaced 0-rings on 3 vales that were leaking and found that the backwash valve had a number of deteriorating parts.. Our underwater light was not working and he replaced the bulb and gasket. He also cleared up a presistent yelllow alge probelm. If you use the company, understand he is a one man operation and does not carry large amounts of parts on his truck, requiring a return trips. Overall a good experinece at a good price.
Description of Work: Replaced underwater pool light builb, Replaced backwash piston and other valve O-Rings, Replaced fill valve and pressure vacuum breaker damaged in freeze, Replaced pump motor capacitor, Treated alge

They came for the pool start-up after the initial work was finished and we did not see them for a month. We called, they checked their logs and then told us they would not charge us for that month and someone came promptly to clean the pool. The following week the pool was a mess because of heavy winds and debris blown into the pool. They did not arrive on the day they were supposed to come, nor the following day, which was a Saturday. When they did not show up again on Monday, we got out the vacuum and cleaned the pool ourselves and called them on the phone to tell them we were canceling the service. They did not follow up on our call, and we have not heard from them since. They were nice people, just perhaps overwhelmed.
Description of Work: Original pool clean was okay, grouting was good. The problem came when we signed up for monthly service which they promised would be excellent, they would come any time we needed them, not just day of service, would clean pool each time.

I had another company assess/give me an estimate for fixing my pool filter and pump. They told me that both my pump and filter were extremely old and both needed to be replaced at an estimated cost of $1500! I had Liquid Assets give me a second estimate and the owner of the company identified to me that my filter and pump were fine. The pump was just to powerful for the filter. Something that I had never known. He gave me a few different cost options and I chose to have them replace my sand filter for a DE filter which was compatible with my pump. I ended up paying $700 for purchase and installation of the new DE filter. I was able to get rid of my pool service and simply use cholrine tablets, and my pool has looked great since I had them do the work. Liquid Assets is an honest and knowledgable company which will get the job done at a reasonable price!
Description of Work: Liquid Assets replaced an old sand filter with a new DE filter.

Description of Work: I got in touch with Liquid Assets and they were here the next morning. They took care of the problem, contracted to service the poolweekly and the prices were comizer the same as our last pool service. I especially like the fact that they are near by. So far they are just fine.

GREAT! After waiting an average of a week to 10 days for the big companies to call back, I called Steve and he came out the next day. He did the sand change for less than others quoted me, and he continues to work hard to find the source of our dirty pool. He is dilligent, professional, and a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend him highly enough

Stephen from Liquid Assets met me at my house for a free consultation. He evaluated my pool pump, filter and Kreepy Krauly. He indicated that my pump & filter were in good condition but that my Kreepy Krauly had one part missing & several parts worn out & that the bad parts were the reason my pool was so dirty. He advised me how much the parts would cost and that if I contracted him for monthly pool service he would perform the repairs for free. My pool also had extensive mustard algae growing in it. I met with Stephen on Tuesday and he had my pool spotless on Friday, so that I could use my pool over the weekend. My Kreepy is working like it did when it was brand new!
Description of Work: Liquid Assets evaluated my swimming pool, explained the repairs needed and completed the repairs in a timely manner. They also chemically treated the algae in my pool and had me swimming by the weekend.
