Kokapelli Painting LLC

DO NOT HIRE!  I googled for painters in the Tucson area, found Kokapelli painting, called and set up a day for the owner John to come over to provide a quote to have our kitchen walls painted (not the trim or ceiling).  We received a quote/estimate that we like (he even brought a portfolio binder of a pictures of previous work) and was extremely nice and polite.  We accepted the proposal with an initial date of service of 9/4/12 for a half day's worth of work for $220 or $240 (to include kitchen island), with a double coat of paint with us supplying the paint.  The day of service arrived, painter (than later painterS) were here for 11 hours and left. ELEVEN HOURS and  they LEFT WITHOUT FINISHING THE JOB AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO OUR KITCHEN.  The walls were completed UNpainted in areas, single coated in others with initial white paint showing through new paint, there was paint on ceiling, our refrigerator, trim and floors.  There were multiple dents in our walls that they tried to glob paint into and over to hide .  There were chunks of drywall missing in ceiling of the archway that separates the kitchen from the family room.  We now even have two major scratches on the side of a kitchen cabinet where the finish was scratched off.  We called the owner John and complained, he came out and said he would make it right and fix everything and rescheduled for 9/6/12.  The owner John, along with another painter showed up that day, worked for about 45 minutes and the owner abruptly stated he could not finish the job.  He stated he underestimated everything.  He stated he just couldn't do it and left.  No money was paid to the company but our kitchen was left with damage that we are now having to fix.  We now don't only have to finish painting the kitchen we have damage that needs to be repaired.  What a horrible, horrible experience.  DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.  They appear professional, kind and polite but the end results speak for themselves.  Here we are days later still trying to fix and clean up their damage to our kitchen.
