Description of Work: JB Soria performed roofing work for the previous owner of our home and the warrantee was transferred over. My direct experience with this roofer is difficulty in communication with him. It would take days for him to return calls and e-mails. I had sent him an e-mail regarding a leak, with photos and it took him almost 2 weeks to respond. At one point I was at work and started to receive pictures on my phone. He was at my house, on my roof, and I had no prior knowledge he would be coming. (He did send an e-mail at 6am that day saying he would try to stop by and look at an issue I had regarding a leak, but since I did not check my e-mail (nor do I have the capability of checking my e-mail until I get home from work), I had no prior knowledge of him stopping by.) This hampered things as the area he fixed was not the nature of the leak. Since I was not home to point out the issue, he had no clue where the leak was coming from and just guessed and made a (free) repair. I did attempt to e-mail him again, with additional pictures of the leak area but have never heard back from him. (I ended up fixing the leak issue myself.) There was great confusion as to what work was covered by the warrantee. The aforementioned leak NOT being covered. There are many "soft spots" on my roof that make me worried when I step on them, but he claims that these are normal. Long story short... Even though I did not personally hire him, the problems I had with attempting to contact him regarding warrantee issues make me feel that I would not recommended this roofer.

Description of Work: I'm a seasonal resident and returned to find some minor interior ceiling damage. Thinking it might be a roof leak, I called John to get an assessment. He checked the roof and said it was ok and bent a roof vent to keep water out. No charge! He easily could have told me it needed some work, or at least charged for what he did. He's an honest guy. BTW, the problem didn't turn out to be a roof leak after all.

Description of Work: Had noticed some soft spots on an outside stucco wall, after having some windows and doors replaced. They had also showed me where they thought the leak on the top of the wall was, and needed repair. I found John's number on Craig's list as he has over 30 years of experience, I decided to give him a call. I was afraid it was going to be small a repair for him, but he said "no problem, I'll be happy to come out". He arrived as scheduled, and spent about 45 minutes on the roof, showed me where it seemed to be, and repaired the spots. He also went over the entire rest of the roof and patched some potential problems without me asking him to do so. By the way, I have a flat roof. He just took the time and did the small job as if it was a larger one. Very professional and courteous. I would recommend him to all members for small remodeling jobs or any work needed that you would like a qualified (more than a Handyman) specialist to do!
