Intelligent Design Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Solar, & Electric

This was an Angie's list Big Deal. The technician came out promptly, did the work efficiently and gave me the report. Apparently there was a concern about a potential problem with the 15 year old a/c unit. The report said there was a weak cap (I don't remember what cap is short for), and that the unit might possibly not make it through the summer. I was not in the position of buying a new furnace and a/c unit at that time which was at least $6000. Fortunately the a/c has worked all summer without any problems. I normally have my heating and cooling service done by Russett, the company that installed our systems initially, but this time I took advantage of the Angie's list Big Deal. I will go with Russett for a new a/c installation, possibly before the hot weather next year. They have been an excellent company and I will continue to use their services in the future.

I was referred by my daughter to Intelligent Design. I got a total of 6 quotes for replacing my system. I went with Intelligent Design because I believed they were honest and efficient. I was very impressed with the presentation at the time of the estimate. The technical detail that the estimator was able to explain to me was great. None of the other companies took the time and consideration to explain the details of the product that I was going to be selecting. I was also very impressed that they did not offer only one brand of product, and carried the products on hand so that I could do an installation quickly. Once I decided to choose them for my new system they booked me for an emergency installation because my evaporative cooler was broken. The installers came on Saturday morning and worked tirelessly all day to complete the job. The installers were very courteous, respectful, sweet, clean, and professional. I could not ask for more from the workers. They also answered all my questions even when they were busy working. I really appreciated this. As a business owner myself and a single woman I probably wanted to know more details than most. The owner came for a final inspection after the install to make sure I was happy with the work. I highly recommend this company. They are trustworthy and likely the BEST company in Tucson!

Tech was very responsive and seemed truely conserned about the issues I was having with my system. Went above and beyond the value of the coupon. He also recommended a home energy audit and home warranty agent for my new home.

My husband was present with the service tech the entire time, and he was very happy with the service that was provided, as well as their promptness and thoroughness. We really appreciated that the service tech did NOT try to push & sell other services and/or materials like other companies we dealt with in the past did. We were very impressed by the service techs that Intelligent Design employs and would highly recommend the Company to others.

My system has a very slow leak that no one can find. So slow that it takes two years or more to need anything. So when it gets down I need service. He arrived on time, called ahead, quickly provide the service my unit needed. After checking he did not ask to do extra service that was not needed. I.E. he was quick and to the point. The kind of service I like.

We were very pleased with the process and the results. As with any home improvement situation, there were a few hiccups, but those were very minor and addressed promptly and with great attention. Scheduled activities were always on time, service workers were friendly and very upbeat, pleasant, and professional. The initial installation took just a few days, with a few return visits for the scheduled roof work and a couple of tweaks. For one minor hiccup, Andrew sent us several gift cards in apology, but we are seasoned re-modelers and expect the unexpected, especially in an older home. Andrew himself spent many hours with us before, during, and after to be sure that we understood what we were getting and that the job gave us the expected results. We were chosen for a random TEP audit, which we passed with flying colors. The end result is that our home has been more comfortable this summer than it has been in the previous 3 years of living here, and we expect that the same will be true with the heat this winter. I have already recommended Intelligent Design to several neighbors, and will continue to recommend Andrew and company to anyone expressing interest in HVAC work. I don't think we've ever had a contractor be so attentive to details, with quick remediation of minor issues, and so communicative! Absolutely deserving of an A+ rating!

Andrew and one of his employees came to my home on time at a time that worked best for me. He took the time to first get to know me and what I am looking to do. My current system works but is old and does not satisfy my current needs. He checked on my current system, performed pressure testing of the home, walked me around the home and was actually able to show me air leaks with his infrared camera, took extensive measurements of home size, window sizes, insulation etc. With this information Andrew showed me many options which he could offer. I was very much interested in the New Lennox 25Seer Heatpump with Solar. As I was not in the current financial position for this unit (I did not know it even existed), I asked about waiting a bit. Andrew understood and gave me some recommendations on improving my current system until a time when I can make the upgrade. As I am very particular on how I like things done on my home, it was very reassuring to have someone totally willing to design a system with me who understands what works... and what does not. (Duct Sealing, Zoning for different parts of home, Air filtration and humidification) I hope to soon have Andrew over and finalize a design and get it installed. Look for my update:)

I was referred to Intelligent Design by a fellow firefighter who has worked with this company before. Andrew came out for his appointment for a consultation and was on time, he explained what systems were available and did the proper measurements on my home. He set up another time for us to meet and to discuss pricing options for each unit. He was very though with he assessment of my home and my needs. His prices where on par with other companies that I had estimates with, I chose Intelligent Design because they came highly recommended and they also showed professionalism that other companies I talked to did not. My installation experience with them was great, the crew showed up on time and ready to work, they started promptly and were polite and clean. I have no complaints with their professionalism or work ethic. They were able to get my new ac unit up and running in one day, they left my home/yard clean. Intelligent Designed called later on in the week to ask how the unit was performing and asked if I had any concerns and I was able to schedule a final walk through with the owner at my convenience to make sure the job was completed to my satisfaction. I will definitely use this company again and have already recommended them to several of my family members.

I bought the Angie's list big deal and was contacted within a couple of days to set up the appointment. I was able to get an appointment for the next week when I wanted it. My A/C had not been inspected for at least 5 years, but was still working well. Michael the tech arrive promptly on time and was very professional and answered all my questions. He noticed a potential problem (my unit is about 20 years old) and offered some suggestions. He added some freon which was included in the deal. This deal definitely saved me some money over a regular inspection call and since my unit uses the old-style freon which is now very expensive it saved me a lot more besides. I also received a follow-up call by the owner later. I would definitely consider using this company again.

The technician was prompt, courteous, and went above and beyond to clean my unit off.

Along with previously stated work Joel suggested a whole home air purification system based upon his observation of my wife's need for supplemental oxygen. Currently we use two stand alone systems which use a great deal of electricity as well as expensive filters. This system would give better coverage of the home for less money .He suggested that we install a whole home surge system to protect the compressors and oxygen concentrator. He left information with us to read and help with making these the decision to do these upgrades. He was polite, informative and not the least bit pushy. The air conditioner is now cooling much better and we are left to decide if the upgrades are doable.

We have 2 rental homes and as luck would have it, both homes had air conditioner problems within a couple weeks of each other. The one home that my daughter rents needed a new condenser. She had called a company and when they came out the first time we had a repair of $300 then the system broke again and they wanted to sell us a complete new system. We were very hesitant and skeptical, so we called Intelligent Design. They immediately diagnosed the problem and the cost for considerably less. They fixed the problem and now the AC is working perfectly. On our other rental, we called Intelligent Design right away because they took such good care of our daughter's home and they came out right away and replaced the capacitor. We were very pleased with the response time for both houses and the honest and professional way they took care of our homes. We are now recommending Intelligent Design to everyone we know. It is hard to find an honest HVAC service company. Now that we have we won't be calling anyone else.

We love the new systems that we purchased. We are experiencing more even airflow in our home and they are much more efficient and quiet. We are looking forward to the savings in our energy costs. We were very impressed with the installation team. They worked into the evening to insure our new system was completely installed in 1 day! We also have a couple of rental properties and Intelligent Design responded quickly and fixed the problem in both our rental homes air conditioning units. We are very impressed with the level of their expertise, quick response time and professionalism.
