It worked out fine. It was adequate and I don't have a problem with it. I didn't have to call them back. The deal was for one unit but I had two, so it cost me twice as much. They came out within a couple of weeks; it wasn't forever and it wasn't the next day but it was timely. I thought the price was very reasonable. Quality was fine. What irritated me is they want you to sign a contract. They just want guaranteed money coming in your pocket throughout the year and I said, "No, I'm not interested in signing any contracts" They give you that low price to get in the door and then they want you to sign a contract so that they could come back and make sure it's working. I've had no problems since then, so I guess everything works.

I was impressed with how quickly we were contacted to schedule the appointment (less than an hour). Prior to the appointment, Jason with ID contacted us to let us know of information we should gather to make the appointment more effective. I really appreciated this because I had the time to put together the information prior to the appointment. | |Jason arrived at the exact scheduled time and was very professional. He took the time to ask us what WE wanted to learn about our home's efficiency and what improvements we were thinking of doing. He measured the exterior of our home and inspected all the ductwork. He then used several computer programs to show us what improvements would net the best energy efficiency for the least amount of money. He spent a couple hours with us discussing all our options. He could have made the appointment into a high-pressure sales pitch for an a/c unit (we currently only have evaporative cooling), but he just showed us what our options were and answered all our questions. | |Jason really impressed us and even though installing a/c is not in our immediate plans, we now have a great understanding of what improvements to make (like adding insulation to our attic space) to make our home more comfortable in the mean time. We definitely will use Intelligent Design when we are ready to install an a/c unit!

It was very good and scheduling was easy with them. They called to let us know that they were on their way. We found them on Angie's List and would recommend them to others. Their technicians are knowledgeable and professional.

I enjoyed my experience. Jason was personable and enjoyable to work with. He made sure he understood what I wanted and gave me all the details with my quote. I knew what it would cost, the time frame and exactly what would happen on the day of installation. They were considerate of my time and needs. The installers were efficient, did a thorough job and cleaned when they were done. I felt like I purchased a service with my product, not just an AC/heating unit. I would recommend this company to anyone needing heating and cooling services.

Before the install, options were laid out very clearly for me by Lance. I made the decision on what equipment to purchase. Then Lance tested the airflow in the house so that we could have a before and after reading on the duct sealing, in order to qualify for rebates. On the day of the install, the technicians were very polite and clean. They put down mats and tarps to make sure none of the equipment scuffed my floors. They obviously knew what they were doing and installed, tested and finished the job in one work day. After the install, Lance returned and tested the air flow to make sure the ducts were all sealed correctly. He explained the system. Very professionally done.

Replaced the capacitor on my blower motor and then noticed that the fan may be going bad. But instead of simply telling me that the fan needed to be replaced, they took their time and called the manufacturer to get the specifications on the motor to make sure that the motor was indeed going bad and should be replaced. It turned out that the motor and everything else was actually in good working order and did not need replacement. I really appreciated that the technicians took the extra time to fully diagnose the situation instead of finding the simplest and more expensive direction. I also signed up for a maintenance plan and they gave me a discount on this call. I am impressed with this company and would definitely recommend them to others.

they identified a problem and fixed it. plus demonstrated how to save on service. They appeared knowledgeable--time will tell. Out of 4 appointments, they were prompt on 2, had to be rescheduled for 2 after I initiated the call.

I am very happy with the service provided to me by Intelligent Design. My HVAC system was approximately 14 years old and was poorly installed when the house was built. The Intelligent Design technician pointed out the issues and recommended a more thorough evaluation. Lance arrived promptly the next day and conducted the tests and reviews he needed to decide what was the best next step for me to take. He was very thorough in how he explained the system. Answered all my questions and at no point was attempting to rush the appointment. I also never felt like he was attempting to sell me more system than I needed. I actually felt very well educated, which lead me to feel confident in my decision to purchase a new system. The installation went very smoothly and professionally. Any questions or concerns that came up throughout the process were handled promptly and professionally. Replacing an HVAC system is an expensive and potentially stressful process. Most don't get up in the morning looking forward to that type of purchase. I am very happy with the work that Intelligent Design performed. Really love my new HVAC system and still feel very confident and have no regrets about the decision to make such a substantial purchase. Look forward to significantly lower energy costs. It was a great experience and they will be our AC company from now on

It was okay. They told me that I needed to replace my unit. They really didn't do too much of the service itself. They were trying to get a sell out of me and I didn't purchase anything. It was okay but I felt a little pushed to buy. They didn't add any refrigerant or anything like that, they were trying to get the sell. Based on the price, I would probably not use them. Update 5-13 - The owner of Intellegent Design came out to see me and brought his service manager. They provided a free service on my current A/C and provided some suggestions on how to proceed with my current system. I have decided to get a quote for a new system from them. I am very impressed with the dedication to the customer satisfaction and look forward to recieving the new quote. I would highly recommend them, and plan to use them for all my future HVAC needs.

This company, and their $62 coupon for an AC inspection and tune up, is a SCAM. Stay Away. This is the second time I've updated this review. Originally, I gave them F's. I gave them B's after the owner came out. After receiving no information, I am restoring the F rating. Background: On or around November 10, 2013, I directly paid through Angie's list for the $62 AC tune up with this company. They came out on November 11, 2013 to do the work. When they arrived, there were two individuals. One of them went directly onto the roof, the other walked me inside to "change the air filter." He kept me in there talking for about 10 minutes while the other was on the roof. After we came back outside, the man who had taken me in identified himself as "a trainee," and "the sales man." He spoke to the guy on the roof, who told him that they found "secondary issues" in the form of a blown capacitor. I know nothing about AV systems, so asked the "salesman" what that meant. He told me that it most likely isn't just the capacitor and that the entire coil is probably ruined. I asked what that meant in terms of repairs, and he told me that I could be looking at $2,000 in repairs. While he was in the truck, I asked the guy on the roof whether there was an issue with the coil. The man on the roof told me "no," and i immediately looked at the "salesman" through the corner of my eye who rolled his eyes at the technician. The "salesman" then began telling me that the capacitor was blown, and that it was a $200 part. He said the contractor was an additional $200, so I was looking at $500 parts and labor. He then said that they would give me the parts and labor for free if I joined their AC maintenance club. He volunteered that AC companies are valuated by the number of club memberships they have and not total service receipts. He told me that either I pay $500, or spend $240 on top of the original $62 to join the membership program. Reluctantly, while being hard sold, I joined to avoid paying $562. I googled the parts, and found that a capacitor is $30 brand new retail. A contractor is $15. I wrote the original review with all Fs for defrauding me. Shortly after writing the review, the owner called me and wanted to come out and talk. He came out and verified that they did indeed put a new capacitor in the AC unit. They offered to return the money, which I declined because I appreciated the owner coming out. I declined the refund, after the owner had me call one of their "competitors" to find out what they would charge for doing the same work. The "competitor" they had me call said $362 (on the mark). I expressed concern that what I was told was that it would be $500 for parts and labor, not $362, unless I joined their maintenance club. I also expressed concern that they said they were taking the parts with them. The owner asked me to give them a higher rating on Angie's List, which I said I would. I changed this review to a "B" rating, noting that their estimate was approximately 180% of their "competitor's" quote, but that with the membership it was cheaper. They did take the contractor, but I found where they left forgot to pick up the capacitor. (It was dropped on the side of the house.) I am having my home placed on the rental market while I move abroad for work. Today the property management's maintenance service came by to go over some upgrades i'm having them do. I told them the story. He's a certified AC repairmen and had a capacitor tester. He tested the capacitor - NOT A D*** THING WRONG WITH IT. The goo that he told me was "a leak" was lubricant they put on the capacitor to keep it from corroding. He told me that's a frequent scam in Tucson with utilities maintenance "clubs." They charge you a fee to tune up your hardwire then, hoping you know nothing about the service or hardware, tell you there are secondary issues. If you read the reviews on here, every single one of them, despite being "A's," say "I purchased the coupon, and they found secondary issues..." The $62 tune up is a joke. There was nothing wrong with the capacitor. They still have the contractor, which belongs to me and is probably in your AC unit, and on top of it all they lied about the cost of the parts. THE COMPANY IS A SCAM. STAY AWAY.

Job well done. technician showed up on time, explained the work to be done and invited us to watch work being done and ask questions.

I purchased an Angie’s List Big Deal for this service and it was okay; they were nice. They said I probably need to get my air conditioner serviced, but I can't really afford that right now. They were great and were also nice guys.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal and I purchased 3 of them. It was good. They did a good job and they were punctual. I was pleased. I would recommend them. It was a good Big Deal.

They arrived on time. My renters were present. And they were polite and professional. They put 2 #s of refrigerant in my compressor. All in all a good experience.

I can sum it up in one word, EXCELLENT.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It didn't go that well. The technician came out but he didn't end up even using it and charging me for basically a service call. Basically, it was a waste of purchase. He marked that up as a service call rather than an annual maintenance that was called out in the Big Deal that we purchased. I purchased it just because I thought that would be a way to save on that service but they didn't end up using it. Despite the fact that it didn't work out with the Big Deal, the fact that he communicated with me multiple times over cellphone even when he was on other jobs just to coordinate when I was going to be there and helping me troubleshoot the issue before he got there, I think that was the biggest benefit. The fact that he communicated with me above and beyond just for coming out for the call.

The service tech showed up on time and cleaned one A/C that would not turn on and found it was just a blown fuse that he fixed, he noticed I had 2 A/C units and asked if he wanted me to service the other one and if so just buy another coupon to save me money. He was very helpful and even helped out my plumber that was there alone moving a Hot Water Heater. Great Company I would refer them to anyone and I will definitely be using them again on my other House Flips!

Overall service was excellent. Service technician (Joel) arrived when expected and was friendly. Spent about 45 for inspection, cleaning and added coolant. Would definitely use this company again.
