Took more than 12 hours, so they were here a very long time that day. And, the workers were all polite, calm, informative and patient when questioned, and obviously highly qualified. Even though a lot of hours were spent in this horrendous heat on my roof. Details of work done are above. Haven't received home fuel bills yet, so can't report now the effects of the new system and duct seal work.

Another company was recommended by my neighbor. They rechecked the two capacitors and found that they agreed that they did not meet factory specs. They charged me $88.00 for the service call and $31.00 for one capacitor. After discussing real life expectations of the other, which would have cost $71.00, I decided not to have it replaced. Had they done so the entire cost would have been under $200.00. My advice to Angies List customers is to do your home work before having a company come to your home regardless of the type service. I had checked various "complaint" websites such as Yelp. Ignoring the blathering and screaming I looked for things specific to my expected service and found that "hard start kits" came up over and over again. Then I looked up hard start kits on Amazon and other sites to get the price. That led to pricing other capacitors including one that is sometimes referred to as a "run capacitor". After getting these prices you should not expect a local contractor to sell you one of these units for the rock bottom Amazon price but it should not be more than double that price. Also remember that the service company establishes the "Big Deal" price seen on Angies List and certainly no company advertising there would use artificially low teaser prices to try to sell other services; therefore the diagnostics are already paid for at a fair rate. t

It went very well. I was just real impressed. they gave me a packet to now I have all the information on my air conditioning unit, it's great. I felt better knowing I had this place to call. What they did was great. They solved all my issues that I had going on and repaired what needed to be repaired. Price was something I agreed with, it wasn't something outlandish. I like the idea that I know someone now and they know me, and I can call them whenever I have a problem. I have lived in this house for 5 years now and have called out several other companies that never addressed the issue. They came out and they fixed it right away. They are the only ones I'll be using now.

Chris was on time, provided a clear explanation of the work he was performing, gave examples of potential problems and signs that would indicate those problems for the future and completed the work without issue.

First, I didn't get other quotes. This is a mistake. Be sure to call other companies and get a competing quote. Second, they advertise 24/7 emergency service. It's been just over a month now and I've already had to call them twice because the system wasn't cooling. I've had a parade of technicians through my house on their schedule. I've had to take time off of work (unpaid) to let them in and lock up when they were done. I've also had to let in the dry wall repair people to fix the hole they poked in my wall during initial install. Now I've got another hole in my wall and don't know when that will be fixed or how much more time I'll have to take off of work. As a single woman, I'm sensitive to who I let in my home. The good news is that every one of the company representatives (all men) I've had in my home was pleasant. This is even though they had worked long hours in the hot sun. I do appreciate that.

He showed up early in the time period agreed upon, Was very professional and friendly and seemed to know exactly how to check everything, which made me confident a good job was done. Whereas Sears hesitated to go on the roof, he didn't hesitate a moment. I think that is important for checking out air conditioner. 110% satisfaction.

I bought this house, and there was a part missing on my AC unit, and it had no starter unit outside, and it was going to make the lifetime of my AC much shorter. So I bought the contract,and they come out and fix it for 10 years, and if something is broken then come right out.

My AC fan broke and our house was heating up in the 100 degree heat. I called Saturday night for emergency services. No one called me back until the next morning. At that time I was told I would be first on the list for Monday and that someone would call me. Monday came and no one called. Meanwhile other companies were calling right away and I told them all I was working with intelligent design so I sent them away. Still no one called from intelligent design. I called them and told them my issue and that I had called Saturday night. They said they would call me back. Again no one called so I called back yet again and the person had no idea who I was. She said she would find out and call me back. After waiting an hour for her to call I went with another provider. I was really disappointed a how disorganized intelligent design was given their reputation. My house and pets were suffering in the heat and it was awful to feel like this company did not care at all. UPDATE: I think the sign of a great company is not that they make a mistake (as above), but how they remedy the mistake. After my experience was made known to Intelligent Design, Andrew, the owner, immediately contacted me. He made no excuses for what happened, other than to explain their side of it and the overwhelming demands they were facing that weekend with the excessive heat. He was very apologetic and very professional. Lastly, he offered me a free year of service for my air conditioning. To me, this is a clear indication of an excellent company and I am now open to using them in the future.

We were impressed with the professionalism of Kris. He is very knowledgeable in his field. We know we made the right choice going with Intelligent Design AC and Heating.

After the initial call, Reggie came out the next day, inspected the AC and realized it was not cooling properly. The "A Coil" needed to be replaced. Because it was Memorial Day weekend, they would return on Tuesday, May 27th at 10am to replace A Coil, which was fine. Reggie sent a new technician to our place but he did not get there until 3:30pm. Reggie came in later to see how the guy was doing and just left! The utility closet door had to be removed and some of the door jamb. The utility closet is adjacent to our main bathroom and I noticed the technician closed the bathroom door, because he was working with a torch tool. The technician worked on it until 9:30pm (he did apologize and I did feel bad for him). He stated he would return after a morning meeting. After he left, I looked into the bathroom and there were ashes/cinders all over the sink, floor and toilet! I informed my husband when they return tomorrow, I expect them to clean it! The new technician arrived at 11am with no Reggie. My husband told him I was not happy the way he left the bathroom. He finally was able to get the air conditioner working and left around 2pm that day. He didn't clean up his mess, nor did he put the utility closet door back! My husband had to put it back. The AC works great -- thank you!!! Even though they found the problem and my AC is working great, I do not know if I would use them again, because to me they were not very punctual and left a mess to clean. I am very appreciative they did find what was wrong with the AC and they fixed it, so thank you!

I am writing this review to impress upon those seeking a reliable air conditioning company that you need look no further than Intelligent Design. We had two new units installed by Intelligent Design in April of 2014. These units were to replace the original units on the house from 1985. From the beginning it was a pleasure to deal with this company. I interviewed 5 different companies. One was way overpriced. Another two sent me a basic replace what you have contract which had a reasonable price but no education on what we had or any possible options.... Another company had no follow up. None of the other companies gave me the sense of security that they would be around for the long haul or stand behind their product. The good news is that Intelligent Design offered us a full explanation of our current system and tested for air flow and balance. Andrew offered three different options to meet our budgetary and air quality needs. This company absolutely gave us a competitive price and included some extras like the clean air filter, new thermostats and upgraded mounts and sound buffers. While we didn't choose to go with their top of the line recommendation, they didn't pressure us and respected our budget based decision. Intelligent Design made the financing of our project easy and without a hitch over the phone. Our install was very difficult on the second story roof in a very tight space. Their crew had their hands full with the install and handled it with excellence. They were all polite, professional and a pleasure to have in my home... And I mean EVERY individual person with this company was excellent. On the day of the install my husband noticed some different equipment on the truck than we had planned on. When he called Andrew with his concerns the response was immediate and a supervisor was sent out in minutes to double check on the equipment and installation plan. Andrew made a follow up visit to show me again how to install the filters and manage the thermostats. I am confident that this company will stand by their product and continue to offer us excellent maintenance. I know that if I have any concerns at all that Intelligent Design will be responsive and professional. I plan on calling upon them in the future for a tankless energy efficient hot water heater. It was fine. I spent an extra $600 above the deal.

Took me through the A/C system outside and checked parts. Replaced capacitator which was minimally functional with new one. Good service. Wanted to sign me up for a contract but I declined.

It was good. They inspected my cooling system and they showed me how to clean the coils. I’m satisfied with it and everything. I did feel a little bit of pressure to purchase a contract as far as maintenance contract. Obviously they want you to use their service again. It was just a little bit of overkill on that.

I had my AC up and running within a couple of hours on a Monday night! Jessie was absolutely the best tech I have ever had to my house ( and there have been quite a few over the years!) Cannot say or thank you enough. Will definitely recommend this company. Thank you so much!

Told me the issues with my AC. This company was great. I did not use them for the actual repairs because thei r estimate was much higher than others.

It is hard to find service providers that you feel completely at ease with and are confident are giving you the best service in their area. Would never consider another provider. Wonderful company!

The provider arrived on time. He actually moved from Arkansas not long time ago. I can tell he loves his current job and he enjoys his work. Will definitely use the company for future AC service.

Kris was great - he showed up on time, was friendly and professional, and got right to work. The AC unit is pretty new and is in excellent working condition, so other than inspection and testing the unit just to make sure there are no problems heading into the summer, there was not much else that needed to be done. I would be happy to call on ID and Kris again in the future!

Eric, the Service Manager, showed up when he said he would and provided excellent service, He allowed us to watch him do the repair work, and took the time to explain what he was doing and why at every step along the way. In addition, he spent a good amount of time with us explaining the maintenance plans that Intelligent Design offered. He demonstrated how to properly clean the coils and recommended that we do it once a month during the summer months to ensure that the efficiency would remain high. My wife and I were both pleased with the service received and look forward to a long relationship with the Intelligent Design team in the future.

I found Intelligent Design on Angie's list and chose to use them to tune up my AC system. I chose them because they are the best rated company on Angie's list for AC and heat. The technician showed up on time and he was very clean and neat there was no mess left behind. He found that a capacitor needed to be replaced and I decided to do that with them. Later the owner came out for me to show me the routine service plan they offer and I am now on their club membership. I sit on the board of my HOA in a community of mostly elderly and I am now going to be referring Intelligent Design to all the home owners in my community. I am very happy with Intelligent Design and I recommend you try them. They are a company you can trust.
