Description of Work: I bought an Angie's list special including a heating/cooling tune-up and up to 2lbs. Of coolant. I have 3 zones, but they honored the price, since the deal didn't make it clear that it was $55/zone. I also ended up purchasing a two year maintenance contract for $1240, including not only maintenance of heating/cooling, but plumbing as well.

Description of Work: I have had Intelligent Design Air Conditioning and Heating service my three furnaces. I had one faulty board that burned out a fan motor and a second unit that wasn't draining properly shorted out another board. The parts were replaced and a better draining system and kill switch was installed to insure that a similar problem wouldn't recur. During the process they also inspected my entire air conditioning system and showed me how to properly maintain my a/c units. A subsequent trip revealed that my heat wasn't working properly in one furnace. This was quickly diagnosed, repaired and was done free of charge. Overall, they are a quality company with competent service people and are very responsive. They don't come cheap, but this is a case where you get what you pay for and I am happy to lend my recommendation.

Description of Work: The one complaint I have is that I didn't receive total honesty on the purchase of the contract in that the main, top reference that they use in their sales literature is no longer a customer nor has been for some time. This particular reference was the main reason I purchased the contract. I didn't find out until after the transaction that this reference, a large commercial customer, had ended their business relationship with Intelligent Design over some unsatisfactory service. Leaves them open to some possible legal action if a person wanted to press the issue.

Description of Work: Intelligent Design did an energy audit. They checked sealant and tightness of the house by evacuating air and used an infra-red monitor to check for hot or cold spots. We reviewed the electrical and natural gas costs of our air conditioning and heating. With our tax status as retirees, we did not effectively qualify for sufficient tax credits to justify large cost upgrades such as solar power. The only work that will be done is me sealing the small air leaks we found.

Description of Work: Purchased a HVAC checkup through Angie's List. Unfortunately, this provider was very slow to respond to email inquiries and slow to schedule their visit to perform services. I will not be using them again.

Description of Work: they did a diagnostic, which they didn't charge me for, while the guy was up there he actually saw the issue and fixed it at no charge, since it was an easy fix. They are great to work with.

Description of Work: We are preparing for a remodel and had concerns that the airflow from our HVAC was not adequately reaching the other end of the house where our Master bedroom is. We wanted someone to come and evaluate our existing system and advise on whether we should be adding a 2nd zone especially with the anticipated additional sq footage. IDS came out and checked airflow and temperature, rebalanced some registers and assured us our current system is quite adequate - no need for a second unit. We felt very happy with their knowledge and thoroughness.

Description of Work: We had a service performed that I did not think was up to standard. A different technician was out to our house for another matter and promptly got involved. Reggie fixed the immediate issue and really knows what he is doing. After learning of this problem, the owner of the company, Andrew Dobbins personally got involved and went out of his way to make sure things were done correctly and completed to my satisfaction. As a result of the good work by Reggie and the follow up with Andrew, we selected Intelligent Design to replace the AC system at our daughters home. Total cost was over $14,000. Andrew continued to follow up and had another one of his excellent technicians, Dean, come back out to make some final adjustments. I have been very impressed with the quality of the service and the people at Intelligent Design from the tech's to the owner! I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Thoroughly checked my roof mounted Rheem Package unit. Lowered the Amp consumption by replacing two bad Capacitors. Added a special lubricant to quiet the compressor and it now runs more quiet and efficient. Technician was very knowledgeable and professional and nice. I am highly satisfied with this company. I recommend them!

Description of Work: Checked A/C. Cleaned A/C with water and hose. Looked at furnace. Told me I needed a new A/C now or REAL soon and made recommendations. I was introduced to their maintenance plan as he proceeded to try to sell me the highest SEER rating A/C unit. I have knowledge of the A/C REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT process and do not trust anyone who immediately wants to sell me a unit with 16 SEER rating without going over other SEER's. I wanted to trust these guys, but it's summer and felt I was being pushed!
