The technician was prompt, professional and friendly. He installed 4 lighting fixtures. One was particularly difficult to install but he was able to perform the necessary adjustments to get the job done. I'm very pleased with the quality of the work from the inital estimate to the actual work. I've always had a good experience using Handyman Connection.
Description of Work: Installed 4 lighting fixtures. 3 chandeliers and one wall sconce.

Wow! Ed was amazing. He came right on time and got to work immediately. The work was done done professionally. Ed was even patient with three young girls who had a million questions for him. I will not hesitate to call these people again. what a great job. This would have cost my twice this to get it done separately.
Description of Work: Reset 3 toilets that had not been put back right after a tile job. Patched three fist-sized holes in drywall. Patched dozens of smaller dings in the drywall He textured the patches and repairs so that they look just like the rest of the wall. He replaced my sticking doorbell and did troubleshooting that helped me know what was broken in the system He replaced and even insulated a broken reverse siphon valve for my irrigation that froze this Jan. Finally, he patched a hole in my eaves that a woodpecker had made and he even went the extra mile and made the patch match my house so I will not have to climb to my second story and paint it. THANK YOU ED!! I will call this company again in a heartbeat!

I wont be contacting these folks for any other work. I will find a company that values their customers and will actually return a phone call.
Description of Work: I contacted this company twice, once via email and once via phone (having to leave a message), and the company never got back to me. I can understand if your company is busy and you cannot take on a new job, but if an individual contacts you for a quote at the very least, contact them and let them know that you cannot take on new work at this time.

The man who wrote up my order was very nice, however when the workman showed up he was very unprofessional. He would only work for a couple of hours then disappeared. I found out he was out getting new estimates while my home was a wreck! My furniture was all over the place! I finally I asked if they could pick up the pace. The next day they sent a second person to help him. I noticed the second individual had no clue as to what she was doing. Finally, I just asked them to leave because they were not doing the work during this time I called Handyman Connection twice to express my concern about the poor work. I decided to finish the work myself, I knew how to do the work but didnt really have the time. That is why I hired Handyman Connection. The owner showed up at my house and was upset that I was doing the work. I explained that his workers did not do the work I hired them to do. The job was supposed to be 2 weeks, after a month it was still not finished. I had to tear out some of their work and redo the whole job myself. Eventually the owner did discount what I paid by half.
Description of Work: I hired handyman connection to do work on my home. I had exposed block on the inside of my home, and I wanted them to cover it.

Response from Handyman Connection- Atlanta
I'd like to address the member's post as owner of Handyman Connection here in Tucson. The work in fact was performed July 2008, not November 2010 (nearly 2 1/2 years earlier than he asserts). The timeline of the work itself was 2 and a half weeks, not the month that he also asserts. The scope of work did include attempting to match the new drywall texture to the other walls. Since the original is a hand-done texture, it is impossible to match 100% because of its' nature. When I inspected it during my visit, I was unable to detect any significant difference in the original texture versus the work performed by my craftsman. The member took it upon himself to redo the texture on his own rather than give me the opportunity to correct it to his satisfaction. This nullified any obligation of warranty. Since the substantial portion of the work was performed by us prior to the member deciding to do the work on his own, we came to a mutual agreement that he would pay half of the price. He agreed to this and we settled the account. I am having trouble understanding that nearly three years after the work was performed he has decided to post this and not disclosing the true date of the work. As owner, we proudly stand behind our work. If there is a problem or concern, I must either have the ability to correct it or come to a resolution on the final bill. Since I was not given the opportunity to correct the work to his satisfaction, he and I ultimately came to a mutual agreement on the final bill.

They were prompt in coming out to give us the quote. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and seemed fair. We haven't had any work done yet, so I don't know about the quality of their work. The quote was for about $886 for the whole thing, and there was quite a bit involved. They gave us a 10 percent off.
Description of Work: We contacted Handyman Connection to get a quote for some tiling, some interior painting, fixing a shower door and a couple of other things.

I initially called the Handyman Connection because of all of the positive reviews on Angie’s List. Called regarding a sewer smell in the upstairs master bathroom. Dave came out and explained that the probable cause was the fact that we only used the shower and not the tub. We should run water in the tub at least once a month to keep the trap full to trap the sewer gasses and not let them back into the bathroom. Dave said no charge for that information. We then asked for an estimate to fix the shower tile where mold was visible. My personal opinion was that the whole thing should be torn out. Dave gave us an estimate for $275 plus materials to scrape out the bad grout, replace and seal with mold preventing material. With the Angie’s List 10% discount, this would be $249.50 plus materials. This was a great price and we scheduled the work for the next week. Dave did that work over two days the next week. It took him less than 2 hours the first day and about an hour the second day. The final bill for that work was 272.68. We are very happy with the result and it looks 100% better. It was Wednesday the previous week when Dave came out the first time and gave us the shower repair estimate. The next morning, Thursday, the downstairs toilet started to leak water around the base when the toilet was flushed. I called Handyman Connection and they said Dave had an opening at 11:00 AM the same day. I told Handyman connection that I had Pueblo tile that looks like Saltillow tile. Anyway, Dave came out and brought a thick toilet ring to replace the leaking ring. Dave wrote an estimate for $75 plus materials. Dave pulled up the toilet. There were tree roots that had grown from between the tile and the foundation over the wax ring, distorting the ring and causing the leak. At first we thought the roots were coming out of the sewer, but it was clear when Dave pulled them out that they just reached about a foot or two down the drain and were not connected to anything in the drain. Dave asked if we had salt. Dave indicated that the roots would not cross a salt barrier. I provided a nearly full package of salt. Dave set the new ring in place and filled the space around the outside of the ring with salt about 3/4 of and inch deep. Dave set the toilet back down and hooked everything up, and tried it. There was still some leakage. Dave said his original plan was to use the new ring on top of my old one since the tile was so thick. That was out of the question since the old ring had been discarded. He said he would go to Ace Hardware and get a second (regular) wax ring to complete the repair. Since that toilet had been making weird whistling noises, I asked if Dave could get new Fluidmaster internal parts and replace them as well. He went and got parts, came back and installed the new Fluidmaster parts, put the new wax ring in place, set the toilet back in place, bolted it down and tried it again. Everything works perfectly. Dave grouted around the bottom of the toilet and did a very neat job. With the extra trip to the store for parts, the estimate was increased to $100 plus parts. The total came to $125.07 with parts of $18.08 and tax of 6.99. I am extremely satisfied to have that job complete for $125.07 and very happy with the result. Thus the Shower grout was $272.68 and the toilet new insides and new ring $125.07 for a total of $398.74. I believe this is a great price for the work.

My shower door collapsed on me and I thought it was a goner. Ed C. showed up and performed, what I truly believe to be, a miracle. That door has never worked so well in all of the years I have lived here. He did tell me that the wheels should be replaced to avoid this problem in the future, and I will have them replaced by Handyman Connection, He was here and gone in less than 15 minutes. I was extremely impressed and grateful. There was a slight "oops" with the scheduling. This has NEVER happened with this company before, they have always been punctual and given a courtesy call prior to arrival, so I thought "it happens" and I got over it. When I called to see what the delay was, they were completely honest with me, and yes, they made it right. This is why I will ALWAYS be a customer of Handyman Connection. Do yourself a favor and call them. I have never waited more than a day or two to have someone here. I have even had a same day appointment. They do everything and they do it well...
Description of Work: I just needed my shower door frame either torn down completely or fixed and the doors remounted. Ed C. managed to fix what I thought was going to be a tear down and he did a wonderful job. He secured the frame at the top and put the doors back on the frame. He hit the wheels with some lubricant spray to keep them moving until I can get them replaced. I will be calling them for that job as well as any other job that we may need done.

I needed a replacement door, but it couldn't be put in until some rot at the bottom of the doorjamb was repaired. Dave came right on time and gave me an estimate for the repairs. I agreed and called in to their office so he could pick up the materials at Lowes for me. He picked everything up and did the repairs and install in less than half a day. He did a nice, neat job.
Description of Work: Fixed some rotted wood on a door jamb and then replaced the door. He also picked up the door and other required materials at Lowes (separate cost of about $300).
Description of Work: I own rental property and frequently call handyman connection. They are super easy to work with, very responsive. The most recent experience was the result of a break in and it was important to get the window frame fixed quickly. They took care of it, gave me some good security advice. Their prices are a little high, but I know they will stand by their work (I've had several things that needed a return visit). It's important to me to have someone I can trust. I'm out of town a lot and have no qualms with having a renter call and have Handyman Connection come out and take care of the problem in my absence
It has turned out really well. I was really pleased with it. It looked very good.
Description of Work: We had new carpet put in. The door was too low. It was scraping the carpet. We had Handyman Connection shorten the door and refinish the door itself. We had them resurface a wall and paint over that. Two years ago they replaced a chandelier in the entry hall.

It went really well. We really liked him a lot. He seems really knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about. He made it a point of telling me some of the things I could do myself by diong this this and this. He wasn't trying to shove off the work, he was just trying to save us money. I appreciated that he told us how to do it instead of charging us to do it himself. He said he would be more than happy to do it if we wanted to but it was so simple to save money by ourselves that he told us what to do. It must us feel like he was very trustworthy. We plan on hiring him in the future.

There was one false start. The first handyman assigned for the disposal job did not show up. I called back and the owner was very apologetic and asked for another chance. I agreed, and the next person arrived exactly on time, did the repair perfectly and charged a very reasonable price. Since then I have used their handymen for an electrical repair that was done expertly and very reasonably. The guy had an opportunity to overcharge me and I would not have known the difference, but he explained a very simple fix that I could do that saved me $60 dollars. I will definitely use Handyman Connection again.
Description of Work: Once had outdoor lights fixed. Another time had disposal replaced.
Matt showed up on time and completed the job quickly and cleanly.
Description of Work: They ( Matt who is extremely helpful and pleasant) installed 2 ceiling fans/lights. He also looked into the possibility of installing pendant lights in my kitchen. I am currently awaiting an estimate for this work which I plan on having them complete. On the 'phone they are always very friendly and helpful and they will always be my first choice for any services I require that they can complete.
