I got them off of Angie's List. They were very professional and they knew what they were doing. I didn't feel there was anything that they could improve on.

They cleaned up after themselves and I refer this company to others. They showed real respect for the homeowner by putting on plastic boots before they came into the house and also washed their hands outside before they came into the house. I will use them again in the future.

Very professional , fast service (they scheduled the service call for the next day), reasonable rates. Unlike other companies, they didn't try to sell an expensive service contract or unneeded services and products.

They were excellent. My experience with them was wonderful. They answered their phone right away and arrived within an hour. This happened in mid August and I live in Tucson, Arizona. They came out real quickly, took care of the problem and were very honest about some future work that I would probably have to have done. I have no complaints what’s-so-ever.

Our very old furnace has not been working properly for some time. Symptoms were that the furnace would come on when the thermostat indicated but the fan/blower would not come on so we were using gas but getting no heat. Another company had been out previously but was unable to fix the problem. Finally called Hamstra on Monday morning thinking I would have to set up an appointment later in the week or the next week, but no, they were able to send a technician that afternoon! I received a call early in the afternoon to tell me that Matt would arrive within approximately 30 minutes--he did. Matt checked out the furnace, did a carbon monoxide check of the house, and diagnosed the problem. He didn't have the part needed with him (like I said the furnace is very old--maybe 30-40 years) but he contacted the office where they located the part and delivered it! The furnace has worked perfectly since Matt's repair.

My experience with them was wonderful. They were prompt and worked in a timely manner. They were informative and had good recommendations and suggestions. Their price was what it should have been. I have been very satisfied with their service. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

The Hamstra salesperson was very no-pressure and offered us several options, giving us the benefits of each. He came the day after our unit failed and we ordered the unit. Scheduling the installation was the hardest part as our old unit went bad the first really hot week in the summer in Tucson. There were a few complications during installation as parts of the indoor unit were not labeled on the outside by the manufacturer. The installer initially put it in upside down, but was at our house first thing the next morning to fix it. He was very apologetic. It worked beautifully. When our house was hit by lightning a few months later, followed by a neighborhood power outage, the mother board and motor of the unit were fried. Hamstra came out on a Saturday to diagnose it and didn't charge us. Then on Monday, once they could get the parts, Hamstra replaced it while I was at work so I wouldn't have to miss a meeting. And the unit was under warranty, so the replacement parts and even the labor were free. I got home from work and everything was working again.

I have never been more impressed with a local company than with Hamstra Heating and Air Conditioning. My wife and I did extensive research on replacing our 16 year old furnace, air conditioner, and water heater. The bottom line? You can find companies that will sell and install this equipment cheaper, but Hamstra offers the professionalism, courtesy, and peace of mind we were looking for. Every individual, from the sales people to the installers, knew their profession very well, treated us with respect and understanding, and worked hard to make us happy with their service. We bought a top-of-the-line Lennox system that offered generous rebates. The efficient Rheem water heater and Aeroseal were thrown into the package deal. We were very happy with the financing and payment plan. I would like to especially recognize the four young men who worked diligently for two days to complete the work. Rick Riesgo, Ray Chavez, Dan Wolthers, and Travis did an outstanding job installing our system and explaining how it worked. Thank you Hamstra, we are customers for life!

They are fabulous and their prices are reasonable. All their technicians are experienced. They know what they are talking about. They can explain in plain English because I am not an AC technician. They have years of experience and they don’t hire anyone. Usually once you have a technician as long as the technician is with that company usually that is your technician. Whenever you have an issue that’s the one who will come out to take care of it. You will get to know them and they get to know your system as well and they know what is going on and stuff like that. I will continue to use them in the future.

I am so pleased with Hamstra, and its technician Jason did a superb job. He was very patient with my questions and discovered problems that my previous service company missed (emphasis on previous!) such as a surge protector that was installed not up to code and a melted disconnect that the previous company should have caught. I will be using Hamstra from now on, as I suspected would be the case given its excellent reviews. I am so appreciative that Jason took the time to describe the problems he found, because the detailed information enabled me to negotiate a refund on the three-year service plan I had purchased from that other company (I still had two years left on that old contract but b/c of that company's bad Angie's List reviews, I wasn't trusting them anymore & wanted Hamstra to take a look). I had a bad feeling that my former company was not up to par, and Jason helped to confirm that. I have been an Angie's List member for over ten years (starting when I lived in Minneapolis) and have learned through experience that companies that have earned Angie's Super Service Award really are the best.

I have used this company in the past and have been very happy with them. They are a little bit on the pricey side but the quality of work will make up for the cost. The crew is very professional and trustworthy as well. If you are having mechanical problems with your unit you need to get Mark to look at your system.

During the week of 8/1/11 (average temperature over 100 degrees) my 12-year-old AC stopped cooling even though the fan kept going. I checked Angie's List and called Hamstra because of its high ratings, and set up an appointment for the next day. Ray came out and agreed that I had done the right thing by shutting down the unit even with the fan working. He spent almost an hour checking everything and provided me with a checklist printout. He then told me that the only thing he could find was that the AC was very low on freon. No sale pitch on a new AC, though it would have been believable for a 12-year-old unit. He was professional and answered my questions. With the additional freon the unit started cooling again and has been able to maintain the thermostat setting. By the way, I had the unit under an annual service contract with another well-known firm for the last few years, and their most recent contract visit was just a few months ago, with all sorts of hints on replacing my entire unit, but with no mention of any freon loss. But that's another story for another time.

I set up the appt they precalled before arriving did the work and answerd any questions that I had.

The receptionist had a technician answer all questions I had that she could not prior to making the appointment. The expected labor costs were given and adhered to. The technician, Rick, was professional, polite, and arrived at the expected time after the head's up call. He worked within my needs/means and I will go back to them when the time comes for unit replacement.

Everything went very well. All commitments were followed. Installers were punctual and professional. I would recommend this business to anyone.

When we returned home from a long trip, we discovered that our air conditioner was operating very inefficiently. We called Hamstra; they sent a repairman the next day. The repairman diagnosed the problem quickly. He added coolant to the unit and also secured a piece of insulation that was partially blocking an air intake. The unit now works like new, cooling our house quickly and efficiently.

They were great and one thing I really liked was that they person that came out was very professional and printed out recommendations for me on units. This company was the most professional of all that I got an estimate from. The work they did was fine and careful and the unit works well.

Excellent planning & execution. Very professional. New unit is much quieter and has already used 30% less power than last month, 20% less than my lowest bill for that month.

It went perfectly. Rick was on time and had the unit repaired in less than an hour. He was professional, courteous and friendly.

We purchased an existing ~10 year old home about 1.5 years ago and hadn't had the system thoroughly serviced yet. Hamsta offered me their once/year "professional tune-up" for $210. Their website clearly listed the price and everything that was included. Their technician (Jason) arrived on time and presented himself very professionally (e.g. arrived in a clearly marked van, clean cut, well-spoken, professionally dressed and wearing identification). I had a lot of questions about the different parts of the A/C-heating system (just out of my own curiosity), and Jason took the time to answer all my questions and educate me on the different parts of my system and how to maintain them. During the course of the service, he discovered a badly burnt contact and recommended it be replaced (additional $92). I was very satisfied with my experience and got the impression that Hamstra ran a very professional operation.

We had a very good experience with them. Their service was excellent. They came in to inspect the house and they were thorough. They cleaned up after they finished the work and checked all the gutters. They did a very nice job. They even followed up for the maintenance service. They were little expensive than the other companies, but their service is excellent and their work is good.I will definitely use them again in the future.

He was punctual, professional, got the A/c working well. He made a mistake on the billing of about $50 which the company later caught and called me to tell me they were sending me a refund check, which they promptly did. I was very satisfied with the overall experience and woud recommend them to friends.
