Richard Mowry, owner, showed up with one person who does not work in the company but is a contract employee. I was told he is a professional with drywall. Richard has no employees. They said they would not show up till after 9am each morning because Eric has to take his girlfriend to work. The started to put some plastic on the floor and some of the walls and brought in all of thier equipment when Richard said he had to leave(10am). Eric started to scrape the ceiling in the small bedroom. He had no sprayer to wet the ceiling-did it dry. Had dust an inch thick all over and coming out the windows. Richard came back after a few hours and then left about 4pm. Eric left at 4:45pm. The next day, Eric and Richard showed up at 12pm they said they had other jobs. I talked to Richard and said he was going to have his crew and he do the job in 4 days and then he said he has not crew but that since it was Friday he and 4 others would work on Saturday and Sunday to finish the job and then left at 3pm.(to finish another job). Eric showed up on Saturday at 8am with a guy about 17 years old who he said he was paying him and who had never done this before, no Richard till 11:45am and he started to tape the small bedroom to be painted. That was where all the equipment was stored and was full of the droppings from the ceiling. Told him to stop what he was doing and that till the room was free of the droppings I did not want it painted and also asked him where the primer was. He said it was already in the paint-nothing said that on the cans. He then left in a huff at 1pm. No one showed up on Sunday and did not show up till Wednesday and no Richard but Eric, at 9:30am, did bring another person who was going to PCC to help. This was the second job he had been on with Eric. They left at 4pm. Eric showed up on Thursday about 9:20am with the college kid. They left at 2pm saying they did not have enough mud to finish and they were out of paint. Called Richard on Friday and told him I did not want to go further because I was not satisfied and wanted him to come and see the job that had been done so far. Richard came but he told Eric to come to pick up the equipment also so I had Eric cussing under his breath that he does good work and that I do not know what is involved with the work and that this is how it is done. When Richard showed up I told him to look at the work and that I do not want Eric here any longer. He said what is wrong with it and I brought out my list of problems (4 pages). He said he would come back on Saturday to fix the problems. Said Eric would be coming also because he could not work alone. Saturday Richard showed up at 9am and Eric about 11am-they worked till 2pm. Monday Eric showed up at 9:20 and Richard at 9:30am at that point I told him I am still not happy with the quality of the work and he said Monday will be the last time he comes to work at this address that the way they did the walls was 28 years ago and that this is the way things are done now and that he already spent too much time doing this job for me. Told him he was fired and what more did I owe him to send me the bill and he said he wanted the money before he left. I told him his bid said I had 5 days from completion to pay the balance due. He told me he wanted his money now and then Eric yelled if I did not pay Richard now he would not get paid. I paid Richard another $404.45 to get them out of my house. Richard said as he was leaving that he was sorry he could not please me, I told him I would be calling someone else to redo the job that he should have done correctly. I have never had such unprofessional workmen in my home. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
Description of Work: Called them to remove my popcorn ceiling in seven (7) rooms and wanted them to prime and paint those same ceilings along with one wall in the dining room. Also wanted them to patch holes in ceilings and walls when I had new lighting put in all of the rooms. Was told he and his crew could do the work in two to four working days. When they showed up the owner did not do any of the work and he left it to his contract guy and the owner left for other Jobs and court appearances. The contract guy said he does drywall and he can do the job. I was promised that the walls would have plastic on them and that the floor would be covered with heavy plastic and that the ceiling holes would be patched so that they would not be visible and that though it was a messy job the cilings would be wet enough not to make dust everywhere and that it would fall on the plastic on the floor. Also that after the ceilings were done the ceilings would be primed and the painted. Also told him I would pay for him to paint the small bedroom so I could move the furniture in to it faster. Paid him a retainer of $700.00.
