Summary: A disappointing, frustrating and stressful experience in virtually every aspect of the project. Culminated in Get it Ready LLC beginning the process to file a lien on our home after less than three weeks from the date the work was performed, rather than trying to resolve issues regarding materials, workmanship and charges. And make sure you demand a hard copy of anything you sign AT THE TIME YOU SIGN IT. Don’t wait for them to email you something at a later date. Pros: * Original quote was lowest of the three obtained (although invoice amount was 20% higher than their quote). * Personnel arrived approximately at the time scheduled. Cons: * Patching/texturizing material used on inside of wall was brittle and crumbly, in some cases large chunks of material fell off, and many cracks reappeared within only a few days after job was completed. See accompanying photos. * Crew leader didn’t demonstrate much of an interest in doing a quality job and was defensive and dismissive when we pointed out problems with the materials and workmanship. * Owner unwilling to try to make good on problems with materials and workmanship, and instead charged us even more than original quote, even though he confirmed after visiting the site the day of the job the original quote was still valid. * Company unwilling to accept full payment of original quote amount. * After less than three weeks from the date of the job, company’s Scottsdale attorneys began the process to file a lien on our residence. The message was clear: We either accept a shabby job and pay whatever price they decided to charge, or we would end up in court paying expensive lawyers to fight a lien. Details: Get it Ready LLC (GIR) was one of three bidders on our project to repair a number of cracks/gaps in our backyard perimeter wall prior to having our home and wall painted. The owner, George Thatcher, personally came by to scope out our requirements. GIR included on their quote sheet a reference to the number of cracks as “APROX 15.” In fact, the actual number of cracks that needed repair was 18, but the owner confirmed the day the work was performed (Oct. 12) that the 18 cracks requiring repair were within the parameters of the original bid amount. A few days later, he denied he confirmed the original bid amount and said they were going to charge us more for the job. The two-man crew arrived on-site on Oct. 12. About 4-1/2 hours later, I received a text from the crew leader letting me know the owner had arrived and asking me to come out to talk to him. At that time the owner told me they received a “spoiled” batch of stucco patching compound, so they were using something different to fill and cover the cracks/gaps. He instructed his crew to cover the patching material with paint primer to try to keep the material from crumbling off the wall. At the end of the day when the crew was wrapping up, my wife and I came out to take a look at what they had done. We found that the patching material on the inside of the wall, even though it was covered with primer, easily crumbled to the touch; in some case, large globs of material fell off. The crew leader’s reaction was to hurriedly reply he would tell the owner about it and that the owner would get back to me. Next, I checked the repaired areas on the outside of the wall and discovered the material DID NOT crumble off. The patching compound had more of a flexible, rubbery consistency, and I learned they acquired a new batch of the material they originally intended to use. My only guess is that the owner brought with him some “unspoiled” patching compound when he stopped by that afternoon. Up until that time, they had only filled and texturized cracks on the inside of the wall; the outside of the wall had the benefit of receiving the originally intended, flexible patching compound. Those repair areas looked great, and did not crumble to the touch. That was a Thursday. I sent the owner a text the next morning, asking if he wanted to stop by to take a look. I heard nothing back from him until Monday, Oct. 16, and we arranged for him to come over that afternoon. Unfortunately, when he got here he denied virtually everything he said on Oct. 12 about the problem of the “spoiled” batch of crack-patching material. He also said the material used on the inside of the wall was what they intended to use all along, but HE COULDN’T PROVIDE A LOGICAL EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THEY USED SOMETHING DIFFERENT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE WALL. The owner offered nothing to make good on the situation. Adding insult to injury, he said they were going to charge an additional amount per crack for the three cracks above the “APROX 15” quoted. That additional amount was $52.21 per crack, or a total of $156.63 extra. Again, that was in complete contradiction to what he said on Oct. 12 when he confirmed the three additional cracks were within the scope of the original bid amount. In the days following, the patching compound on the inside of the wall was still crumbling to the touch. What’s more, virtually every crack GIR supposedly repaired began to re-crack within a few days. I ended up needing to have someone fill the multiple cracks that reappeared before the painters arrived. After the painting contractor finished their work, I informed GIR I was SENDING THEM A CHECK FOR THE ORIGINALLY QUOTED AMOUNT OF $783.25, despite all of the problems we experienced and could experience still. GIR responded they would not accept “partial payment” and informed me they had filed a “Preliminary Twenty Day Notice of Lien” against our property. We could have hired an attorney to fight their threat of a lien, and perhaps even recovered damages for what was obviously poor workmanship and the use of the wrong materials. But attorneys are expensive, and we just decided to make this go away by paying the extra $157. I’m sure they were counting on that. What they may not have been counting on is that we have the opportunity to share our experience with you via this review. Before you consider hiring Get it Ready LLC, ask yourself whether you’re willing to have a lien put on your home if you have a reasonable dispute with them over workmanship and/or costs.
Description of Work: Backyard perimeter wall, constructed with concrete blocks and covered in stucco, had multiple cracks that needed repair prior to having a painting contractor spray the wall and house. Some cracks were relatively minor, while others were major due to growth of trees’ root systems in proximity to wall.

We approved the installation cost estimate 0n July 1, even though the design of the custom door had not been finalized and approved. The design was approved and the door shipped to us from Calif. Work was scheduled for late July, however the hardware was not here. Get it Ready was able to reschedule the installation 2 weeks later in August. Installation went very smoothly for a "design as you go" project. Craftsmanship was good and the men were able to come up with right answers when needed. I was able to start painting the installation late on the 3rd. day
Description of Work: Replaced front entry door, which was two 30" wooden French doors. The replacement is a single 36" full panel frosted glass and an 18" full panel frosted glass side light. A new relocated entry light and remote switch was also part of the project.

The work went smoothly and quickly resulting in the appearance I had planned. The job site was cleaned and all removed timber & metal material was disposed of. I was very pleased with the entire operation.
Description of Work: The Handymen (crew of 2) removed 5 - 16 foot 4" x 8" timbers and supports from over the entryway and an 8' x 8' security screen from the house entrance. Then filled the resulting wall openings in the stucco walls with 1" x 8" wood material planks supplied by me. This required trimming the stucco and caulking as needed.

I feel that the process and results could not have been better. I have given an overall rating of A, but feel that A+ (were it available) would be more descriptive. All aspects of the estimating, scheduling (and sticking with the schedule), professionalism & courtesy of the laborers and the quality/appearance of the final job were superb! I should also mention that the professionalism, courtesy, responsiveness and dependability of the owners (George and Kim) were also outstanding! Any questions, clarifications, modifications and requests for touch-ups that I would raise were, without fail, handled to my complete satisfaction. Thank you George, Kim and the entire Get It Ready crew that were involved. Well done! I have several of George's business cards and I will not have the slightest reluctance to recommend Get It Ready to my friends.
Description of Work: Considerable work was done in the categories of refreshing and repairing items external to my stucco, one story house which was built in 1974. Repairs were performed on cracks in the exterior stucco walls of house; masonry repair (significant "settling" cracks had occurred between my front walk and the side of my house and also on the other side of the walk and the retaining parapet wall); repair of patio roof; and repair of one of my window iron security bar structures. Additionally structural strengthening was performed on my decorative iron railing running along front walk. Refresh work mostly involved painting including painting of wrought iron items (yard gates, door and window security bars, and decorative railing); painting of entire front stucco wall of house; painting of entire external walls and overhead area of patio; painting of masonry floor of patio; and painting of masonry front walk.

I have never reviewed a business before but had to with Get It Ready because they were so exceptional! I gave Get It Ready a call when I decided it was time to sell my townhome. My sister, who had not used Get It Ready but had read reviews, mentioned she had called and booked them for work on her home and suggested I do the same. After reading positive review after positive review I called. I explained to a very sweet woman that I had a townhome to sell and needed it overhauled before I put it on the market. I further explained that I don't live in the townhome and have a two year old and six month old that I have to bring with me every time I drive the half hour to my townhome to meet anyone providing home services. Additionally, I had managed to find a time when my husband, real estate agent, and a flooring expert could meet me on the same day, 7/12/2015, and was hoping Get It Ready could meet the same day as well. The loveliness that is Get It Ready began in that first phone call. I learned that the woman who answered is one of the owners, George or Kim's, Mother. Apparently George and Kim were on a rare vacation and she was helping out with answering phone calls. I can't remember her name but she was darling and explained that while Get It Ready is happy to provide free estimates, their policy is to come perform the free estimate when their company is going to be in your general geographic area working on other booked jobs or conducting other additional estimates. This made perfect and reasonable sense to me but this lovely lady said, "You know, given your unique situation I am going to go ahead and book your estimate for your requested day." I thanked her profusely thinking, even if Kim and George decide not to come on that day I'll understand. Well I need not worry with having to make a second trip, Kim called me a couple days later and I learned that they would not normally have come out until six days later (that is simply when they would have been in the area) but they were "happy to come on 7/12/2015" and she confirmed that they would do just that. They did. George showed up and I have to say, I have met with many many repairmen and various home service experts but George from the first second is by far the most incredibly kind, competent, helpful, patient and professional home repairman I have ever met. George listened to my long list of needs and hopes for making my townhome beautiful and didn't bat an eye. He makes you feel like he has all the time in the world and has a lovely, humble, yet confident manner that makes you so happy you chose him and his business! He moves through the estimate with ease taking many helpful before photographs and detailed notes. He offered excellent suggestions and ways we could save a lot of money. I had an unbelievably dangerous and rotting patio cover (that my real estate agent and I decided would be wise to replace) and George had excellent suggestions for making a beautiful, strong new cover without breaking the bank. Later on when the Get It Ready crew determined a huge supporting beam would have to be replaced (not planned for originally) because it was severely rotted inside, George suggested using two beams instead of one massive one, providing just as strong support but saving oodles of money. In addition George did not charge any extra on labor to install the two new beams. Another way George said we could save money is if we bought our own microwave and sink faucet and gave it to them to install rather then having Get It Ready purchase it. This was easy to do and we just had the items shipped right to Get It Ready. Other things like ceiling fans and light switch covers would not be more costly for us to provide and George said he could get them for a better deal to help us out. When my estimate was complete I was very happy. I knew the list we had was incredibly extensive and most likely would cost quite a bit, however, I was happy I was booking with what seemed to be such a great group! I made several calls in the next weeks to Get It Ready and Kim, who is one of the owners, was always a complete delight to speak with. I was also happy to see that the very organized and well detailed estimate was not as expensive as I thought it would be. I was so impressed with Get It Ready that I was completely comfortable with handing over our townhome keys and allowing them to start on 8/3/2015, while my husband and I attended a family reunion out of state. Get It Ready worked doubly hard and put their entire crew on our townhome just so we could get it fixed up and on the market fast! They estimated two weeks of work on our home and finished in one! While I was away George, Kim and Nathanial made sure to keep me updated with the progress via emails, photos and phone calls. I obviously can not share enough wonderful examples as to why I am so enamored with this company. Not surprisingly their work was beautiful (we have by far the most gorgeous patio cover in our complex!) and they even did little extras for me, like painting our vents, free of charge. I had to make a trip to our townhome last night and remembered a former tenant had chipped some exterior paint off of a patio wall with his car. For some reason I thought of this and when I went to the spot I had seem a million times before telling myself "I should paint that spot" I could not find the ugly little area. I was so baffled until I realized Get It Ready had painted that for me without having even been asked to! I went to sleep that night thinking I have never actually looked forward to having to pay and book future home repairs but I actually am very much looking forward to it because I now know the perfect group to hire! I can not encourage anyone enough who has taken the time to read this long review to call Get It Ready if you have ANY home repairs or improvements to make. I am confident you will fall in love with this lovely, locally owned and operated fabulous company. It's people like George, Kim and their fantastic crew that make you happy and proud to live in Tucson with such wonderful, competent and caring home experts!
Description of Work: Built a brand new patio cover Installed vents Replaced a new mounted microwave Installed two new ceiling fans Installed a new kitchen sink faucet Did repair/paint on two doors and a front patio cover Replaced a bathroom fan Replaced light switch plates Framed a bathroom mirror Painted exterior here and there

I had a problem with my old mailbox being hit by a vehicle more than once. The post was bent and the "new" box was plastic. I purchased a new secure locking heavy-duty mailbox with a 4" by 4" steel post. Get It Ready removed the old box, then dug out a deeper and wider hole, positioned the new mailbox to insure it was properly positioned and level, then cemented it into the hole. It was done perfectly and I couldn't be happier with the work performed. In the past we have used Get It Ready for major interior home repairs when getting ne cabinets installed and their work was excellent! Our neighbor had work done prior to selling their home and again, the repairs done were excellent, both in my opinion and the neighbor's opinion. I would have no problems recommending Get It Ready to anyone wanting a handyman to come in and do needed work. They do good work, come prepared to do what is needed, and don't leave until I am satisfied.
Description of Work: Replaced old curbside mailbox with a more secure locking mailbox that I had purchased.

Description of Work: They performed drywall repair. I was not pleased with the original result and the owner called and arranged to come back out and he personally made the repair. The second repair was great. They honor their guarantee. I was not going to have them come back - I was simply going to get someone else to do the re-repair. The owner was persistent about wanting to 'make it right' and the final result could not be better. I would definitely call them again. They DO have ethics and believe in customer service in a time when the words are foreign to a lot of companies.

We are preparing our 1950's house for insulation and discovered that there was very old papery, radiant barrier insulation in the attic space. The insulation company did not offer insulation removal service, so I roamed Angie's List and found Get It Ready, LLC. I called and left a message. Kimberly returned my call later that day and I described what needed to be done and approximate square footage of the attic space (~1500sf). I emailed her a few pictures that the insulation company had taken and she said that she would have an estimate emailed to me that evening. It arrived as promised and we were satisfied with the price, so we booked the work to be done less than a week later. Kimberly called me on Friday to confirm the arrival time of the crew. They showed up at the designated time on Monday morning. I was impressed with their professionalism as I was introduced to the crew and went over the details of the job with George Thatcher, the owner. The guys got right to work and boy, did they work! The job turned out to be so much more cumbersome than expected, but they worked diligently until the entire project was done (approximately 8 hrs). I was so impressed with how hard these guys worked considering that they had to crawl through very a very tight attic space and pull out the material by hand. I knew that this job was probably under-bid once I saw how much work and time it took, but all Kim and George cared about was our satisfaction with the job...we are definitely satisfied! I highly recommend Get It Ready!

It went great! This is my second time working with them. They called me once on site to provide estimate and did the job right then when I gave verbal authorization. They were clear on what they were going to do, how much time to do it and how much it would cost. Their pricing is fair and they are reliable and professional. As a landlord that lives in another city, it's really valuable to me that the people I work with be reliable and keep me informed. Both my experiences with them have been excellent!

George and his co-worker were able to do all the repair work on the back and side yard fencing in two days. They installed a new gate, repaired the damaged fence from the fallen tree branch and secured the large fence spaces with a small mesh that actually helped keep out the rattlesnake that was trying to get into our yard. Unfortunately,I had only part of the fence secured with this mesh and the rattler had gotten in the places not secured with this mesh and had struck my Westie three days ago. Luckly, our wonderful vet was able to save our little Westie- $800.00 dollars later-- but she is worth the money. Needless to say George is coming back to secure the entire fenceline with this mesh. We do not want uninvited snakes in our yard ever again. I only wish that I had had the entire fenceline secured with this mesh first. I just didn't think about snakes getting in but was worried about puppies getting heads stuck. Thank you George, Westie protector.....Job well done.
