John arrived exactly when he said he would, and worked very harmoniously with me to get the new equipment set up. He went through the current system to make sure all parts were coordinated, and then installed the new unit. Then he took on the task of contacting Comcast to activate the new box. He was knowledgable and efficient, worked quickly but with a very gracious attitude about explaining the various steps and outcomes. I couldn't have been more pleased. And when I had questions two days later, I called and he answered right away, understood the problem and solved it immediately. This man is a treasure, and finding his name was more than worth the year's membership for the List.

Mr. Fitzgerald did an excellent job mounting two televisions - one in a living room and one in a bedroom. After a walk through of the locations we wanted the tv's mounted, he measured and showed where the high, middle, and low point of the tv would be and we agreed and he went to work. Completed the install of the two mounts in about two hours. He explained the features of the tv's after installation, hooked up cable boxes and a DVD player and left the work areas clean.

He was very courteous and professional. I appreciated his expertise and will use him in the future.

John did a very professional job. He shows up on time, does what he says he will do based on the estimate, and cleans up thoroughly. He recommended a Sonos wireless system, and invited me to his house to preview the system. We are very happy with the system and his services. In addition to his overall service, he decided that I didn't need some of the hardware we had discussed and took it back without question.

John did a great job of mounting the TV to that wall and provided the mount and HD cable needed to hook up the Blu Ray. He was prompt and responsive to my questions. He is very neat and left the work area clean and neat.

After the preliminary installation in mid-June, never heard from John again (mid-August as of this writing). Repeated e-mails and phone messages have been ignored. To be clear, I have not yet paid Fitzgerald for any services (only payment was for the TV itself), so there is no financial issue. The issues is one of professional courtesy. Although he initially told us that he was able to and would do the full installation, perhaps he subsequently decided the project was not of interest. That's his prerogative. An e-mail response so informing me of that would have been the professional way to handle the situation. I will say that his work prior to this matter had been efficient, courteous and fairly priced. Hence the disappointment. UPDATE: After communication issued were cleared up (see prior review), work was scheduled and completed. I was very pleased with both interaction and quality of work. This is a revised evaluation following more negative earlier rating which reflected some difficulties with communication and follow up. Once we got beyond those problem, everything went smoothly.

Called the provider to schedule an appointment for me to explain what needs to be done. John sounded very knowledgeable and reliable when he did visit for the appointment. He informed me that he would get back to me with a quote and he did not get back to me at all. I called and left a voice mail, no response. It has been almost a month since the visit and no response. Very disappointed. If you are busy, I have no problems with that as long as you get back to me when you said you would inform me that you can not take up the job. That's being a professional. My experience goes against the grain for the kind of professional that I thought that John was based on my interaction with him during the appointment.

Very helpful over the phone and very knowledgable and competent when arrived to do the repair work. Extremely satisfied with results.

Also, explained more about WiFi and took a few minutes to advise me on a problem with my computer (which was not actually part of the service, just a kindness). Very, very pleased! John was prompt and professional. He provided several options for home theater wiring. We chose to install the wiring inside the wall (a bit more expensive, but a one-time, permanent solution) instead of wiring around the base boards. It took all-day, it was well worth it. He hooked up the TV, speakers and A/V equipment, programmed the universal remote, and tested everything. After he re-plastered the holes (~6 not counting the 2 required for the rear speakers which were covered up in installation), we need to paint, but that is the least of any issues. Excellent overall quality and results.

Arrived on time and was very knowledgeable. Had the Bose speakers working with the digital movies within about 15 minutes (could not connect on my own as the Bose system needed enabling and hadn't had this issue until buying the Panasonic Vierra HD TV). Would highly recommend.

The newer home that I just purchased has a waste of square footage called a "Formal Dining Room". Not one for furnishing a room that never gets used, I decided to turn it into my office. However, this created problems because there were no phone or cable (for the modem) jacks in the room. Additionally, I wanted to be able to connect various componants in my master bed room, and living room to the internet without using a wireless connection. I also wanted to have two additional LAN wires ran from the office to the front of the house for future improvements. In short, I needed all kinds of wires run all over the house and I didn't want to see any of the wires running across the floor or up a wall. I needed it all to look neat, clean and professional. John came out within a day of me contacting him for an estimate. He was extremely courteous and took time to listen to my desires and help me translate it in to a plan of action. He explained exactly how he would be able to do the job and offered suggestions to improve my overall layout. After just talking to him during the initial inspection, I had pretty much made up my mind that I would be using him even before I saw a quote. He was, hands down, the best in the business out of everyone I spoke to. Far better than the Cox installer who wouldnt do half of the work period, and wanted to run a cable on the outside of the house over top of the front door. It took about three weeks after the inspection before I was able to get into John's busy schedule. But once I did have an appointment, he showed up on time, prepared, and with a positive attitude. I took the time off of work to be there while the work was being performed and pretty much watched and asked questions the entire 6-8 hours. John was again more than willing to explain every aspect of what he was doing. All said and done, the installation looks like the house was pre-wired when it was built. I got everythign I asked for and more (john even routed some surround speaker wires up in the cieling for future use, since he was in the area), he didn't have to cut a single hole in the walls (except for where the connection plates were needed), and the work came in 10% less than his original quote. Johns professionallism, attitude, and quality of work were all top-notch. I would speculate that you will not find anyone in the area that compares to his attention to detail, and knowledge of his craft. If you want it done right, Mr. Fitzgerald is the contractor you are looking for.

John and I played a considerable amount of phone tag over the week but when we finally connected, I found out he was willing to swing by on the weekend to take a look at the job. The job was very small (wiring 5.1 speaker system to existing home theater components) but required special consideration. John is an absolute master at his job and he shows an immense amount of pride in his work; not a quality often seen these days. John works for himself and if you find value in supporting local small business and getting a an excellent deal in doing so, then John's your man. There's no reason to look elsewhere. I'll be using him again when we move into our next home.

While I had to cancel the appointment and postpone my installation for a later date, I look forward to using his services in the very near future.

I had several other installers in to bid and they were all more expensive and offered a less finished job. The combo of Mr. Fitzgerald and the carpenter he brought in worked out beautifully. He also performed several extra tasks without raising the final cost. Also, procured the needed TV mount without adding anything on to his cost.
