Epperson Electric

I purchased a huge chandelier and wanted it centered in my great room (20 foot ceiling). This was a difficult project, not easy. They arrived at 7:30am and finished at approx 5:30pm. They never left my home, worked straight through with no breaks (except for a quick lunch) and cleaned up the mess. Everyone was professional and easy to talk to. Richard Epperson did a fabulous job and his two assistants were great as well. Everything functions and the chandelier looks beautiful ( I think he took a few pictures after installation). The drywall patch work and paint is perfect (patchwork/paint was done the same day). The price was very reasonable compared to two other (ridiculously high) quotes I got from other electricians. I will definitely use Epperson Electric again!

Mr. Epperson did outstanding work and I was very pleased with his work and the clean up after. He also did some minor wall repair.

Extremely professional and personable. Evaluated the situation carefully to make sure what I wanted could actually be done and went into the attic space to check everything out. Seemed to be very knowledgeable and competent. Completed the job in a very reasonable amount of time. Cleaned up the slight amount of debris that was created from enlarging the ceiling opening and even patched two small openings that remained with spackle when I asked if he could do that for me while he was on the ladder. Would recommend this gentleman for future projects without reservation. Enjoyed visiting with him while he worked. Thank you!

Richard is prompt, professional, expresses himself in a clear, low-key manner, and follows-through faithfully. His work is neat, correct, adheres to local codes and is done in such a way that other tradesman will be pleased (e.g. drywall cuts). I will definitely ask him to assist me again in the future!

After being left in a lurch by another electrician who had a higher number of reviews, I called Epperson and was told by whoever answered the phone that he was out of the country. I gave up trying to find a decent and responsive electrician and postponed the search. I was completely surprised when Richard called me back the day he returned. He showed up a few minutes early for the bid and we agreed we would have things done in stages. He was very flexible and his prices were reasonable. We scheduled an appointment and again, he showed up a few minutes early and completed all the high-priority items. He has been back for the second stage and we'll be using him again for the third stage. When I had a question after the second job, he returned my call promptly and we resolved the issue over the phone.

Light was out in laundry room and the socket was not getting current. Richard came out about 20 minutes after I called. He pulled one of the switches to check it and it seemed OK. He then found the center tab in socket needed to be bent out. When he started to put the switch back the light went out briefly. He replaced that switch and everything is working fine.

Exceptionally well. Mr. Epperson knows what he's doing and doesn't cut corners or violate building codes. The pricing was very fair. I found out that all the good things others are saying is true.

I called in the morning and described the job. Richard came over that afternoon and carefully replaced the cracked outdoor outlet. He installed my waterproof outlet box as previous covering was plastic and would not properly close.

I would say our business transaction went pretty well. He negotiated a lower price on "travel time" because we were on the way to his next stop (home). He also offers a 5% discount to Angie's List members which is NOT listed on his information online. He came the same day I called: within 2-3 hours. However, he was about 30 to 45 minutes late which worked for us but I would have appreciated knowing he would be late sooner rather than getting the call at the time he was supposed to show up. It would have made our schedule of activity less hectic. He was polite and got down to work right away. He works alone so if he needs to check on something inside and outside, it requires a bit more time. Other companies have an apprentice working with a journeyman but that ups the cost, as it should. In this case, the one man company worked. It was a simple fix for someone knowledgeable in electrical work--not I or Mom.

I called and was given an estimate over the phone. Once I had completed the bidding process, I called them back, scheduled the installation and while they try to avoid working weekends, they did work with my schedule. I'm glad that I read the reviews of this company which mentioned that they do not accept credit cards. I had cash on hand, so payment was easily taken care of. Richard arrived on time, did the work as specified in a timely fashion and now I have two ceiling fans new lighting that work very well. While doing the job, Richard experienced a power outage, due to a tripped GFCI outlet. He diagnosed the problem, reset the switch and stayed on budget. The job took approximately 5 hours, start to finish including set up and clean up. I could not be happier with the service and would happily use him again. Epperson knows what they are doing, do it at a reasonable price and take good care of you.

I called and technician was just finishing a job nearby. He came within the hour, installed the device, and was gone within another half hour. His initial circuit breaker did not work, so he used another one. My HEPD diagnostics LED did not indicate normal operation, so technician used his voltmeter to verify. The bad circuit breaker was replaced, all LED reports normal.

They came on time and were very helpful.

Our project was to bring electrical and TV cable over our fireplace to facilitate our new TV mount. Richard did a superb job moving the wires with minimal holes in the walls and ceiling. After the connection was completed the holes were patched perfectly! Prior to the job start there was a bit of consulting neccessary between Richard and the Geek Squad. Richard was always available for phone conferences. Richard's part of the project was completed in one day. He arrived on time and cleaned up after ....which was very pleasing to my wife. In our view Epperson Electric is a five star company and we will most certainly use them again. We have already told our neighbors about Richard's great work.

I called for an estimate on having lighting and a fan installed, the man who answered the phone said he would be out to my house that Friday to provide an estimate, and never showed up. I found another company on Angie's List (United Electric) and they came out the same week and did the work.

Overall all service was great. Same day service was a bonus along with first time Angie's List discount. Will use this company again for electrical services.

Service was excellent. Richard was always prompt and professional. Even though the person that was going to do the drywall repair couldn't make it to the original appointment, Richard kept in contact with them and made sure the work was scheduled and completed within 2 weeks. Very happy with the work done.

Richard spent a day at the property performing the work described above. His work is clean and he's a good electrician. We had one hiccup with our experience however. We had Richard bid this job a month or two before hand, while the house was still in escrow. I recalled the bid being around $400 (granted, I'm not a electrician) but the bid was misplaced by us during that seemingly frantic time period. Meanwhile, Richard had also lost the bid that he provided us. I had to run an errand on the day he performed the service and missed his departure. He therefore left his invoice for the job; $465. I in turn paid that amount by personal check. In a surprising move, Richard called me after receiving payment and in no uncertain terms insinuated that he had been short-changed. My position is that we both lost the original bid and that I paid the amount quoted on the invoice. This was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise positive experience. Please note: Epperson Electric does not accept payment by credit card. This can be very inconvenient to some. Epperson Electric provides quality work at reasonable prices, just make certain the money's in the bank.

Richard is very skilled and creative for getting the job done. Initially the LED light I used cannot fit in the shallow housing. He came up with a way to modified the fixture to make it fit. He is also very experience when we talked about how to do my next lighting work and answered questions related to my own DIY projects. In the end he also adjusted the price done because it took him less time. I also like the fact that he does not use subs so you know you'll get the A+ service as I did. Will hire him again!

Richard Epperson gave my mom an accurate and fair quote for the job, and also offered her a Senior Citizen discount. He always arrived on time and didn't waste time. His skill made it possible for her to have improved electric supply lines without having to open an adjacent wall for access. He carefully cleaned up the work area before leaving. Based on this positive experience, my mom recommended Richard Epperson for electrical work at her neighbor's house. This neighbor contracted with Richard in October 2012 and he just finished a very big renovation of the electric system at her house. This project required at least 5 full work days to complete. This neighbor is also very pleased with his work and is now enjoying the use of areas of her house that previously had insufficient lighting. I trusted Richard Epperson to do work at my mom's house and would heartily recommend him for any future electrical work.

I called and the tec met with me the next day. The house is old and was missing a wire that would allow the GFI to work. He understood the problem and promptly fixed it.

Great service, arrived promptly on both visits, covered floors, countertops etc for a clean installation and clean up. Would use again without hesitation.

All work done very well within a reasonable time, clean up included. Very professional in answering our questions. Lots of experience and it shows.

It went great, see details above. In addition to the above, two weeks later on Labor Day weekend, I discovered there was a problem with the main fuse/circuit breaker. I left a panicky voice mail for Epperson who very kindly called me back even though he was out of town for the weekend. He was able to reach the general contractor who trades off coverage for calls with him, and asked that gentleman to come over and check the problem for me that afternoon. The contractor did and Epperson did not charge me as much for a holiday call as most electricians would have. I will definitely contact Epperson again because of their customer service, professional knowledge, and the quality of their work.

Epperson electric performed did a superb job from start to finish, would highly recommend to anyone who is hard to please as myself.
