1/18/2014 ~07:30am - I called the 206# on their website and spoke to someone after several rings. I explained the problem and wanted service that day, she booked it for 2-4pm. A couple of hours later, I had a voice mail from Precision technician Mike W. that he had a cancellation and wanted to know if he can come sooner. I was out running some errands and agreed on meeting at my house at 10:45am. I was a few minutes late and Mike was already there. After assessing the situation, Mike gave me some options, I selected the belt driven one with battery backup. He also noticed the torsion spring is worn out and probably the culprit. The spring on my other garage broke a little over a year ago so I agreed to replace this one too. He did not have the opener I wanted in his truck so he had to go back to Lynnwood to pick it up. When he returned he went to work and a little over an hour and a half later, we had a nice new quiet opener with built-in LED lights and battery backup. The installation included opener/operator, rail, wall control panel, photo eye sensor safety system, and the torsion spring. He showed me what was done and how to operate it. He removed the old opener, all the hardware, and all the debris from the installation. Mike did an excellent job with this installation, I was very pleased with his work and professionalism.
Description of Work: Replaced an old garage door opener and the torsion spring. The opener was still running but unable to pull up door due to stripped gears.

I think the problem with them is that they cannot have someone come to my house to have the problem fixed. Before they fixed my garage door, they didn’t tell me anything about the cost. They gave me a quote out of the job they found without asking me for permission. They initially charged me $175 and that’s way expensive but they gave me a discount, so now I think they’re reasonable. I was unhappy that they didn’t talk with me about pricing before that.

I would not recommend them at all. They charged me three times the amount what was being offered through my AAA Discounts. Then when they came out they wanted to charge me $500 more on top of the higher price. All they ended up doing was a roller tuneup. When they guy did come out he said I would have to pay for a new door or motor and that's what all the extra cost would be. The door works, but I have to manually put the door up and down. The rollers now work great, but not worth the $925! Especially since my AAA Discount was for $319 for the same job. I will never use them again unless they do something about my bill.

The technician called to move appointment one hour earlier. He arrived at the new time and was very cheerful and explained everything he checked to insure all problems were solved. He recomended a full replacement on all parts and offered a full lifetime replaced parts warranty.. The price he quoted seemed high but he explained how much it would cost to replace only the broken parts, I understood the price but I am still affected by sticker shock.. The door installation is 10 years old and it has never worked as smoothly and quietly as it does now. So it was probably worth the price. First class technician and first class work.

These guys were superior. They finished in record time and knew exactly what to do after hearing my garage door go up and down. They explained everything first and why--So both of us knew what was going to be done. The garage door now opens and closes smoothly and does not sound like it came from an old Vincent Price movie. Very quiet.

I got up and opened the garage door and it was erratic, but opened the whole way. I inspected it and saw a snake that was coiled up by one of the moving parts. I left for a while, and when I came back, the snake was gone. I tested the door and it was completely messed up. It being a Sunday and the car being in the garage, I was now stuck. I called Precision and they came within a few hours. I was quoted a range of around $200 to about $325 to fix the door by the technician. Seeing I really had no alternative I had him fix the door. He was very good and knew his stuff. But for 45 mintues of total work with very little supplies used on his end, charging me $312.79 was absurd. So as a very last resort I would use them, but had the car been in the driveway and he showed up with that quote, I would have defintely waited until Monday and called around. I have already told a dozen friends and coworkers the story and I'm sure none of them will be calling Precision. Yes they know their stuff and are available on a Sunday, but those still aren't reasons to absolutely rip off a consumer.

I had a routine service for my garage in July that went well. A few days ago I noticed that I needed to hold my garage door button down to close the door. Gave them a call yesterday and was able to get Don Miller to come by today. As usual (had him for repair in July) he was early and friendly. He said that some wires became lose so fixed it free of charge. They have great customer service and are very professional.

Arrived on time and did a thorough assessment. I was pleased he could fix it at the same time rather than come back at a later date. Only hitch is he had forgotten his invoice paper work, gave me a receipt on the business card. He said he would mail me the paper work the next day and I have not received it as of yet. I have left one call as a reminder

It seems that most larger contractors are organized in basically the same way. The first person you see will come to the site, discuss the possibilities and give an estimate. I then called in my confirmation and put 70% down. Next came the call setting the date of install. The installer had come down from Phoenix and mine was his third install that day. He had been told that this job was not as extensive as it was and gave me the option of rescheduling to another day with more time. I chose to go ahead and do it so he went off to get more lumber while I made more room for him to work. The estimator was very inacurate in telling me how much space was required to do the work. It took me a half hour of emptying the garage into the yard to get the job started. He worked until dark and I was left with no handle or lock and unfinished trim. It was finished up a few days later by another installer as the first one had been hospitalized. I am totally satisfied by the workmanship and quality of the door. The job being started with not enough time to finish was my descision and I feel was handled as well as could be.
Description of Work: The Job was to take the old homemade garage door down and reduce the opening so a standard size panel door would fit. Install new door and trim to finish.

The tech called and said his last job went quicker than he expected and was coming early, He arrived and I explained that the idiot I bought the house from took the unbroken remote garage door opener and the one left stopped working. He advised me that the remote I had was no longer in stock and that I should just replace the unit. The price he quoted wasn't too bad so I agree to the work.

Very nice service person showed up more than 2 hours later than I was told I was scheduled for. We had this door installed in February and this is the 2nd or 3rd (maybe 4th?) time I have had to have them out to fix something. The initial problem was that the new sales person did not take the proper measurements and the regular type drive would not fit in our garage due to a support beam in the roof. Then the door was a lousy piece of tin that was noisy and provided no insulation on a west facing door. The old door was heavy and thick, this was like a tin can but not as thick. I called and complained and we chose a better door. We never asked for crap and the salesman should have offered something similar to what was there. Then the installer didn't notice some support for holding lumber that a previous owner had installed and that the new door was scraping along it every time it moved up or down. After several months of this, it threw the new door out of alignment and it stopped working. they charged me nearly $200 for that when they are the professionals and should have seen the problem. The fellow who came to fix that one just knocked down this little structure-with my blessing-and at least that problem was solved. This last time the door stopped working because one of the rails on the side of the door the rollers move along was out of alignment. They needed two pieces of this rail material and they did not smoothly match up so a roller got hung up. That fellow told me that the rail was two inches out of alignment! In other words, it had not been installed I'm not happy with Precision and though they have always come out fairly quickly to fix problems, I SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THESE PROBLEMS ON A DOOR THAT IS LESS THAN ONE YEAR OLD!

and he stated that the doors were just installed nothing was ever adjusted. He also said the most it would cost to convert the spring and motor out would only run $245 to $280. So I am glad we had called him. Our door is fixed.
Description of Work: He replaced the rollers and then proceeded to tell us the spring was bad and the clutch was gone out of the motor. The door would open by just lifting it up. Because it was a Wayne Dalton model he said they did not make the model anymore. He then told us it would be $1200 to replace the springs and motor but would have a lifetime guarantee. We thought that sounds like alot to replace a motor and spring. S o then I got the home warranty people out, $75 service fee and he adjusted the spring and motor and the door worked fine, I told him what the guy had told us and he called Wayne Dalton as he new the manager who put the doors in when the house was built
