EXCELLENT!! Cannot say how much I appreciate East Coast Contractors. My daughter & I wanted to give DIY a try, but we got in over our heads and time ran out. I have a burnt adobe built in 1965 and wanted to update the tiny bathroom by removing the built-in, cave-like tiled shower enclosure and the very large vanity. My vision was to replace with a tiled shower area without walls & a pedestal sink. First bid was $4,000 – labor only, materials estimated at $3,000. Second bid $7,350 and no tile, but marble slabs. Mike was honest; the tile was not happening for my budget of $4,500. Mike researched and recommended a Delta shower stall and small vanity. I went with that. Next, Abe Hull was put on the job as estimator and eventually the person who executed the work. Abe was absolutely wonderful – professional, communicative, prompt and workmanship was flawless. Final tally was $4,400 (I’m disposing of the trash and saving $200) – all labor and material itemized. Everything done…plumbing, done, drain re-set, shower, toilet, vanity, lighting, exhaust fan/light installed, new floor tile installed, and finally painted. Looks amazing!! Thank you Abe & Mike.

Be aware that when you receive your bid price from these guys - it will be shockingly high, but they will tell you they are worth it because of the excellent quality and service they provide. Maybe they deliver most of the time, but they did not live up to the hype for us and our $49,000 master bathroom./bedroom renovation. 1. They promised a strict no smoking policy on our property - but the superintendent smoked in his vehicle - which maybe is not a big deal, but he left more than a dozen cigarette butts in various places on the property. 2. They say communication is excellent - but we still had subcontractors show up without notice (which when you have dogs is really fun), we had pretty much no idea what was going to happen on given days and the "superintendent" who does most of the labor would disappear for hours at a time. Even after to complaining to the project manager - nothing changed. They never provided a scope of work and were less than transparent in the process of sticking to budget (which they were unable to do). In the final accounting they tried to charge me twice for sales tax and still manged to charge twice for plumbing and more money for their incompetent goldbricking superintendent, 3. The said someone from ECC would be onsite at all times when subs were present - not even close to true. The electricians and tilers were often left unattended. 4. They said they would finish on time - and even said they would take a financial penalty if they didn't... I wish I held them to it because they finished 7 weeks late (was their fault). 5. Building it right the first time! That's what they say, but I had to oversee almost every detail of the project and found many things not done right the first time. Turns out they sent a new employee to do the job not knowing his credentials and provided little or no supervision of him. The painting of a room took this guy over a week to finish (which delayed everything else) and was low quality that they eventually had to hire pro painters to come and do it right. 6. They promised a clean worksite - but other than the cigarette butts - they left debris around for weeks (some of which I just ended up throwing away myself). They dripped paint on my patio, left empty boxes and tile samples, etc everywhere on the back patio. They charged $1100 for the daily clean they never did. Their worker even threw gum away on the property which my dogs promptly found and walked through - was nice to clean up traced in gum and have to take the dogs to the groomer. 7. We truly expected the project manager or an owner would be onsite several times a week - but for the most part they were never around. This left their new employee to basically work at an agonizingly slow pace - unchecked except by me. Even complaints to the owners early in the process changed nothing - in retrospect I should have just fired them much earlier on. In the end they finished the job. It is far from 100% perfect and for the premium price they charge - you want excellent. I wish I had either just hired someone else or general contracted the project myself. These guys are not worth the money paid - total cost for the project almost $49K - of which about 19k paid to their higher than industry average contractor markup and their poor supervision and slow "I don't really care about quality" worker. The only thing great were the subcontractors - but I could have just hired them myself and saved the 30% markup ECC charges for profit and overhead. I would never consider hiring them again.

Excellent service, they worked around illnesses, rain and holiday schedules to get the job done and make my kitchen a wonderful space again.
Description of Work: We had a leaking window frame which had leaked through the window framing down the interior of the wall and damaged the interior walls (cracking, peeling, molding and separation). Mike helped us identify the problem and worked with his partner to identify the best solution. The crew were always punctual and maintained a clean work area. The work performed including removing interior wall space, insulation and exterior stucco work. The exterior stucco work was done very nicely and the interior walls were put back in excellent condition.

We have used Mike and Rick from East Coast Contractors for every project - very large remodel to small. Now my parents use them too and wish they knew them earlier! They do a very thorough job reviewing project and costing it out, but they have never missed a deadline and there were no "surprises" have way through job.
Description of Work: Repair house after water damage and misc tasks. (Same company used in the past for major remodel of bank repo'ed property.)
