Description of Work: My A/C failed in the hottest weather, I needed to replace it, and I was due to leave town for 2 weeks. I wanted the work completed before I left town, and my regular guy was overloaded, so he suggested I try Desert Moon.

Description of Work: Routine semi annual furnace maintenance. This is a mommy & pop business I've used for at least 8 years and am not only pleased with them, have recommended them to others.

Description of Work: One central air unit was not cooling. The other one made a loud bang when coming on. Scott blew out the drain line on the one that was not cooling, identified the cause of the noise in the other one (improper installation) and fixed both problems. A second trip was required to correct the bang because he needed to obtain some sheet metal supplies. He inspected the ducting in a section of the house that is not cooling adequately and identified the exact cause (once again, improper installation that, unfortunately, cannot be rectified without major structural work). He also determined that the sizing of the units originally installed was wrong. He did not try to sell me new units, rather, he just pointed out that the requirements had not been met and said he would not recommend changing anything, as long as we continued to have comfortable temperatures in the house. We bought the house two years ago on a short sale when the builder ran out of money. It's clear he was cutting corners at the end. I believe that if Scott had done the original installation, none of these problems would have occurred. I will be using Desert Moon on any of my air conditioning needs in the future.

Description of Work: Desert Moon was called out by my home warranty folks as my HVAC was in it's death throes last summer. These were the 3rd HVAC guys out of 4 that looked at my HVAC over a period of 4 weeks. They quickly diagnosed the issues (frozen coil), did the quick fix and gave me a thorough rundown on short term options, long term options and dealing with the home warranty folks.

Description of Work: My air conditioner did not work

Description of Work: Desert Moon came out under my Home Warranty to fix my broken HVAC (frozen coil). They were punctual courteous and knowledgeable. They explained the ins & outs of the home warranty in regards to HVAC repairs and also answered my questions regarding a potential future HVAC system replacement.

Description of Work: I used Desert Moon Heating and Cooling to provide service on our central heating and AC unit. They replaced a blower motor and rewired a thermostat that got chewed up by some animals. They recharged the freon once.

Description of Work: A Heating/AC company with which I had a maintenance contract sent a supervisor (not a regular technician)for our Spring maintenance service. After a quick inspection, the supervisor warned me that our heat pump (installed in 2001) was about to break down beyond repair, as evidenced by a leak of the freon gas, and rust on the metal base. He urged me to replace the equipment as soon as possible, and "graciously" gave me quotes for new equipment installed by his company. All the options were pricey. I called Desert Moon for a second opinion; the owner of the company came and conducted a thorough inspection: there was no freon leak, and the rust had been caused over the years by water condensation in the closet where the heat pump is located; he found that the whole system was working perfectly and even exceeded the manufacturer's specs; this equipment, he said, is good for at least another 5 years. The Desert Moon owner charged me $55 for his time.

Description of Work: They fixed the condenser a couple times. Most recently they turned on the gas heater.

Description of Work: Scott checked out both A/C and heating units (2 each, dual-cooled house). One A/C was not cooling. He determined that it needed to be recharged with freon. We discussed possible ways to overcome a design problem with the house ductwork not delivering sufficient airflow to bedroom area. We arranged to replace some of the cheap, builder-installed registers with more adjustable ones to better regulate airflow (that was a separate job, also with Desert Moon).

Description of Work: They came in and did a normal service on my air conditioning unit in my 1800 square foot house.
