Custom Solar responded to my email inquiry. Quote was reasonable vs. other companies. Removed heliocol mats and then had to wait 4 weeks until AZ Roof Restoration cleaned and painted the roof. Arrived on time for installation which went smoothly. Came back following day to finish. Great communication, great work, fair price.

I would recommend Custom Solar and Leisure wholeheartedly. I found them to be very professional. When I installed my system, they had the lowest price. They explained everything clearly. The crew was here on time and cleaned up everything so you could not tell they were even there.

Custom Solar & Leisure began with a no-pressure sales presentation that offered me several different options at different price points. Ian, who made the initial sales call, is a former installer so he has a thorough knowledge of the systems. This was a good sized installation which was completed by two workmen in five days. The job was professionally done and the outcome is a good-looking solar system. When the town inspector came by to review the job, he commented to me Custom Solar & Leisure does a very good installation.

Ian McKenna was our first contact. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He answered all our questions and was able to explain, in layman's terms, all the particulars that go with a solar panel system. We looked at other companies and what made us choose Custom Solar & Leisure was the warranties that the company and manufacturer had on their work and materials. After the job started the work crew were clearly experts at what they did and each day the part of the side yard they were working in was cleaned up. During the process they welcomed questions on what they were doing and were clear and concise in their answers. The owner, Jeff Shoemaker, was always just a phone or text away when we had other questions. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants quality install with quality materials.

We investigated five companies and selected Custom Pool and Leisure to install solar panels on our house. We selected Custom Solar because the owner, Jeff Shoemaker, spent a great deal of time with us explaining the pros and cons of the products he offered and recommended an array layout that would maximize sun exposure to create energy. He clearly knows his product and industry. His interest is to provide the right product for his customers, which was a refreshing view compared to his competitors. Jeff's crew arrived promptly when scheduled, worked with minimum impact in our household and cleaned up daily. Upon completion of the installation, Oro Valley's inspector came to review their work. He remarked that their work was among the best he's seen. We passed inspection easily and TEP installed the appropriate meters. We recommend Jeff and his company highly.

Based upon the roof size, installed solar electric system that generates 90% of the electricity that is used. Installation was started on 4/22/14. The crew was prompt, always polite, and completed the work in 5 days. The inspections were done over the following week and the system was activated late on 5/9/14. I am impressed by how clearly Jeff and Ian explained everything as we started the project and then how Jeff thoroughly reviewed the online monitoring. I had both lease and purchase estimates and Custom Solar and Leisure was the most competitive bid. I was also happy to use a local small business to install the system. Will receive a 30% federal tax credit that will make the total cost just at $20,000.

Although, I decided not to have the work done I would describe this a positive experience. I spoke with the Jeff Shoemaker at Custom Solar and Leisure,who came to my home and gave me an estimate for a full installation which would have required 12 panels in all. The quote he gave was a comparatively good price on the system but it was still more than I had expected and the full installation on my roof would have conflicted with future improvements I planned. Afterwards I spoke with Jeff and we discussed possible alternatives which did not involve the solar heating panels but did required my gathering more extensive information on my electricity consumption. I will be calling Jeff down the road about installing a non-solar pool heating and solar power generating system.

They did a very good job. I would probably do business with them again. They came when they said. They were very professional. I would use them again. They were very prompt.

It went pretty well. Installation was fast, neat, and professional. However, some of the connections came loose over time (pool water flooded the roof - thank goodness we were home at the time!), and had to be refitted and retightened.

They were wonderful with price and schedule and have been great about coming back to check in when the weather changed (to prevent freezing) and helping program the controller. If we decide to add electric solar capabilities to our house, I would definitely use them as well.

Spoke with Jeff on the phone & asked about solar pool heating. He sounded interested and looked at our property while talking on the phone He set a date to come to the house I waited & waited & Jeff never showed up No call, no email, just complete nothingness Just not worth your time to do any business with Jeff

After researching with fellow residents in my retirement community I contacted 2 companies that had installed solar on their homes. They seemed reliable and the price was in my budget but I wanted a local Tucson company if I could get one. Contacted Angies List & found Custom Solar & Leisure . My call was promptly returned by Jeff Shoemaker and we set up an appt. I was very happy with his presentation. Since the price was in my range and similar to others I went with the local company. I found Jeff & his crew to be very professional. They cleaned up every afternoon before they left they left the premises and were all pleasant appearing workers. Was very pleased with the appearance of the panels and the connections from the electrical box. I was not the only one who thought they did a great job. When the city inspector came to check the job he complimented the worker who was here. He said that it was the best solar installation he had seen & he has checked all solars here in my area. That's great praise.

I chose Custom Solar and Leisure, LLC to put solar heating on my in-ground pool after getting estimates from 5 installers. Custom Solar stood out ahead of the rest from the get go, and their reasonable price was within the range I expected it to be. Jeff was the only one of the 5 that actually measured my pool to determine how many collectors I'd need to provide what I wanted to achieve. He was the only one who climbed up on the roof to establish where the collectors should go, and he patiently answered all my questions. The workmen showed up on time, completed their work much quicker than I expected them to, and left the area in pristine condition when they were finished. They paid a great deal of attention to detail, and their work reflects a high degree of professionalism. The Town inspector who came to check the job remarked that they'd done the neatest job he'd ever seen. Everything that was done went above and beyond what I'd expected, including the follow up visit to make sure I understand how to run the system. Their warranties on workmanship and equipment are outstanding and I have complete peace of mind with my new system. I'm thoroughly pleased with having selected them to do the installation.

We got bids from several different companies. Custom Solar and Leisure had the lowest bid, but more importantly, we just felt most comfortable with Jeff. The installation took a little longer than anticipated due to the very antiquated system in place and the need to replace valves, etc. In spite of that, the price was not raised. Jeff and his crew are very professional. We are totally thrilled with the performance of the system that was installed. Our pool was 88 last night! I just cannot say enough good about this company. I also want to mention that we feel like Jeff is in this business because he believes in it - not just for the money.

The installation went as planned. Installation started weeks later than originally scheduled due to problems completing someone else's installation. I accepted these delays and expressed to the builder that I get the same responsiveness. There were no problems with my installation so it was completed in a timely fashion. I have a tile roof. Several tiles were broken during installation and these were replaced at the installer's expense. He even left several spare tiles for me in case I have some breakage on future projects.

There are 22 photo-voltaic panels and a single 40 square foot panel to heat the hot water. At the present electric power rates this system will pay for itself in approximately 9 years. Any increase in electric power rates will make it pay off even sooner. I received bids and proposals from two other contractors. Custom Solar and Leisure was the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. The owner of Custom Solar and Leisure, Jeff Shoemaker, has many years of experience with these systems and really understands the the subtle technical details. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. The total bill was $28,000 but after various incentives and tax credits it cost me approximately $10,000.

After researching and meeting with dozens of installers, we went with Custom Solar & Leisure. We had narrowed it down to three companies before getting bids. Custom Solar & Leisure was the best price, provided options on which type of panels to use, and seemed the most willing to work with us. During the bidding process, I had re-contacted the Solar Store to see if they were willing match Custum Solar's bid....calls were not returned x2. The installation went smooth and we like and chatted with the installation crew. Very normal people. We did have a GFC trip numerous times during the installation. Custom Solar worked hard to ensure it wasn't their fault and to try to find out why. It ended up being my fault. I greatly appreciate the effort the crew put in to tracking it down and they didn't try to make me feel like it was my fault (even though it was). There is a good chance that we will add more panels in a few years. Without hesistation, we will be using Custom Solar & Leisure.
