Services we offer
Stone tile, travertine tile, porcelain tile, for walls and floors (interior and exterior). Granite, marble and quartz slab fabrication and installation for counters and walls. Bathroom and kitchen remodeling involving the previously mentioned items.
We contacted Conway Tile after another tile installer (see review for Sunset Flooring and Tile) poorly installed and ruined the backsplash tile for our complete kitchen renovation. Tony Horness came to our home within a couple of days after my call to review the project and take measurements. We received the quote by the next day. We hired them, and they were able to begin within days. Kevin Conway handled the scheduling and was on the job to instruct the installers the first day. Adam from Conway had to remove the old tile very carefully so as not to damage our new cabinets, granite countertops and polished concrete floor. Once he did so, he identified some issues with the electrical wiring that had been done by the general contractor who had abandoned the job after his tile installer ruined the initial tile (see review for DesertKing Carpentry). He advised that we have an electrician look at it before he closed up the walls again. Thank goodness he did so, because we found several illegal and dangerous items. After the electrician had re-wired as necessary, Adam returned to install the cement board and the new tile. He did a beautiful job with the installation, especially a rather tricky design over the stove, involving different sizes and thicknesses of tile. There was one glitch when he mixed too much of the epoxy grout at once, rendering it unusable before the grouting was completed. That caused a small delay while new grout was shipped in, but we were not charged for the extra grout. Adam and his helper were polite and pleasant, eager to please us. When we discovered and reported some grout stains in the laundry sink and a glob of grout on a tile, Joel came out promptly to correct those things. Everyone we worked with was cordial and polite, and they were very eager to help us complete this long and frustrating job to end up with a beautiful kitchen. I highly recommend them and will probably use Conway again to remodel a bathroom.
Description of Work: Removed existing backsplash tile, replaced cement board and installed new tile in kitchen and laundry room.

I selected Caesarstone for its easy care. It is comparable to granite in price and durability. The tear out of our tile went smoothly, so did the templating. There was a one day delay during the install, as the installers were and quot;tied up at another joband quot;. I always wonder why my job isn't THE most important! After the installers left I noticed a funny blue spot on the island countertop, about 1/4 and quot; long. I also noticed many scratches, and glu marks. They also left without grouting the area between the backslash and the new countertop. I was told this was too wide, and not included. Of course instead of loving my new $6,000.00 countertops I was in tears. I went to the Caesarstone website, followed the cleaning instructions, and made no headway with the scratches, glue or blue stain! Finally, a nice man from Conway, Joel, came to our house and did agree with the above complaints. He also said the grouting should have been completed by them initially. Finally after over 2 months things are resolved, but it took a lot of time and persistence from me. They ended up and quot;repairingand quot; our Countertop to get the blue stain out and it is 90% improved. Conway was the subcontractor on this job for Arizona Kitchens and Designs who were totally useless.
Description of Work: Tore out existing tile countertops. Installed new Caesarstone (Quartz) countertops.

Response from CONWAY TILE CO INC
In response to the 1 day delay on the installation, our installers were at a project where the customer added some work that resulted in an additional day of installation and we could not stop in the middle of the installation. In reference to the glue marks and caulking, Joel came out the day after we received a phone call from the (member name removed) 's and our installers cleaned up both items within a couple of days. The blue spot on the island was a product problem from the Caesarstone quartz manufacturer. The (member name removed)s wanted Caesarstone to replace the slab, but after many phone calls and follow-up, we found out that they do not warranty any product defects larger than a dime. We then repaired the counter ourselves at our own cost to make the (member name removed)'s happy. We followed up on every detail and did everything we could to make the (member name removed)'s a satisfied customer..

They came in to template the the custom cabinets and pick up the sinks that would be under mounted. They were professional, punctual and very courteous. They did an excellent job of fitting the under mount sinks and joining the multi slab counter top.
Description of Work: Conway Tile was a subcontractor that our GC brought in for our master bathroom remodel. We used them to install the counter tops.

This project involved demolition of the old countertops and backsplash, instalation of new drywall, as well as electrical and plumbimg work. Conway is apparently licensed only for the countertop work, and we would have had to coordinated the other work ourselves. This would have shut down our kitchen for 3-4 weeks, and put us in the role of general contractor, neither of which was acceptable. The price quoted by Conway was almost double that of the contractor we ultimately selected for this project..
Description of Work: Conway was acting as a contractor associated with Costco. They provided an estimate for replacing tile kitchen countertops and backsplash with new quartz material. They made their appointment promptly and arrived on time. They submitted their quotation promptly.

Response from CONWAY TILE CO INC
This is an interesting review considering we did not do any work for the (deleted member name). At the time we were working with Costco fabricating and installing kitchen countertops. Conway Tile does the measuring and Costco sets the prices. Conway Tile has no control over the price that Costco charges. The customer obviously shopped around and found a company cheaper than Costco since we did not do the work. The (deleted member name) gave us a C for Responsiveness and C for Punctuality, but I their reviews says "They made their appointment promptly and arrived on time. They submitted their quotation promptly". I don't know what more we could have done during the estimating process to make them happy.

Conway cut the openings for the sinks/faucets as well as the faucets for the Jacuzzi. Some of the seams of the installed granite were not smooth and there were two areas where the granite was chipped. Conway, to their credit, immediately sent their technician who did an excellent job of correcting the problem areas.
Description of Work: Fabricated granite and installed the vanity top and area around Jacuzzi for our remodeled bathroom.
