My washer broke on a Saturday, I called them and they were here within an hour and they had the part on the truck and they fixed it. He's very thorough and check everything to make sure he wasn't going to have any additional problem, it was nice because I will be sure that I wasn't going to call them back again. They're really a good company.
Description of Work: Christie's Appliance came over to fix my washer. They replaced some parts because it wasn't spinning.

They were recommended to me. They were perfectly fine. They have done a few repairs for me and we have bought appliances from them. When our ice maker was broken he knew exactly all what was wrong and he had all the parts in the car and got it to work again. They did a good job.

We had trouble with the dishwasher not draining and tried the trick of baking soda and vinegar with no success, so we called Christie's. The first day they had to re-schedule due to a family (of the repair person) emergency. When he called on the re-scheduled day he hesitantly asked if we had recently put in a garbage disposal (we had, but since we don't use the dishwasher very often we didn't connect the two events). He had me check the garbage disposal to see if the plug was removed. It wasn't removed, so his question and his help saved us the service call (and 65 dollars!). A Brother-in-Law put in the disposal (for which I am grateful), and he will help us get the plug fully removed (it is partially removed, but a lot more solidly attached then perhaps necessary).
Description of Work: The service was scheduled to be performed but a single question from the repair person discovered the problem and saved us the service call.

Went to Christie's to buy a new refrigerator as the compressor on our old one was on its last legs. The salesman was knowledgeable and helpful and did not try to upsell or pressure us. I appreciated that when showing us the various models he started with the most economical ones rather than the most expensive ones. I had a coupon toward a new fridge that the repair guy from Christie's had given us when he pronounced our fridge terminally ill, but I forgot to give it to the salesman while he was writing up our new fridge. Called when I got home and he immediately applied the coupon retroactively. The fridge was delivered in two days, on time, and the delivery guys were clean and courteous. Overall, as good an experience as an unexpected $1400 expense can be.
Description of Work: Serviced our old fridge. Sold us a new one as it was clear ours was about to die.

The technician was prompt, professional and friendly. He was able to find the problem quickly and had the parts with him that were needed for the repair. As the refrigerator was still under warranty there was no charge. I was very pleased with the responsiveness of Christie's Appliance in scheduling the appointment quickly. The technician was obviously very knowledgeable about refrigerators from my conversation with him. I will buy any future applicances from Christie's. They take care of their customers even after the sale!

Excellent experience. I had done a lot of research online into the machines. I went to Christie's because good dealer support is important for non-commodity appliances, even though Christie's didn't carry the brand I had originally planned on buying. Discussion with the salesman and the store's reputation convinced me to go with a different brand, which actually, it turned out, had a couple of nice features my intended brand/model didn't. Price not absolutely the cheapest available anywhere, but reasonably competitive. The decision paid off immediately. As the install was being wrapped up, the installer noticed a cosmetic defect on the washer. The situation was handled immediately: the options were outlined and I was asked how I wanted to proceed. It was clear that they would take care of it and that I did not need to worry it might become my problem. I chose to keep the washer and have the affected panel replaced, and week or so later they called to schedule the repair, which went smoothly. Very professional behavior by everyone involved. Recommended.

Ice maker didn't work. Read Angie's List reviews, chose Christie's as a result of good ratings. Called Christie's. Pleasant person took my call, information, told me a repair guy would arrive the next day. Repair guy called in the morning, told me when he would be here. He was here when he said he would. His name was John. He was pleasant. Got right to work. Found the problem, repaired it. Suggested we replace the water filter in the refrigerator, looked for one in his truck, found one, sold it to me. Was in and out in 25 minutes. Cleaned up before he left. The bill was more than reasonable given the service. The work was performed perfectly. The ice maker works well. John was pleasant, efficient, and professional. Outstanding experience!

Other than the wait for the appointment, the repair was a good experience. Aarnon was knowledgeable and professional.
Description of Work: I originally called on Thursday, but was unable to get an appointment until Tuesday. Aaron arrived on time, even after he was unable to call us due to our phone being out. He checked out the microwave and determined it needed a klystron tube. He then checked both the GE part and 3rd parts for the best price. WIth tthe price of a new microwave, the repair was cost effective. He set up an appointment in two days, arrived on time and the charge was as estimated.

They were prompt and efficient. They called first thing the morning of service to let us know the two hour time period in which they would arrive so we didn't have to wait around all day. The service technician had the correct part with him so was able to replace the heating element promptly. After talking with us he identified the issue with the dishwasher which was the high mineral content of our water. He recommended specific detergent and rinsing agent to use in our situation. All in all it was a very positive experience.
Description of Work: Replaced heating element in dryer and addressed problem with dishwasher not rinsing thoroughly.

The technician has come to my house many times over the years for various repairs or installations. He is always punctual, respectful, and explains everything he is doing. the part was installed about 5 days after the first service call. I always call Christies Appliance for appliance repairs and purchases and shall continue.
Description of Work: The motor on my 10 year old Jenn Aire Blue dishwasher burned out. it was infinitely cheaper to replace the motor than replace the dishwasher with the same quality appliance.

Mr Betts was the man I talked to on the phone. He was rude. He was not listening to me at all. I am just really frustrated with the service I received. I canceled the appointment I had scheduled.

My refrigerator/freezer was losing it's cool! This was a problem that had appeared to increase slowly over a three-week period. I was afraid this would cost a fortune, as the unit is close to 15 years old. I called Christie's because of the excellent prefessionialism I had experienced in the past. Christie's made a service call appointment. The refrigerator repairman, Jason, was on time (early, in fact) and reviewed both the water leak issue and the cooling problem. He found and fixed the water leak almost immediately. Then he discovered that the probable cooling issue was because the cooling coils in the freezer had completely iced up due to a failure of the defrost heater assembly. We completely de-iced the cooler coils, and he replaced the assembly in a matter of minutes. Overall, Jason's professionalism was evident (he has worked with Christie's for many years). He was straightforward and honest in explaining the possible problems, and was quick to repair the issue once he found it. I am, once again, completely satisfied with Christie's Appliance.
Description of Work: Troubleshoot cooling problem and water leak issue. Replace cracked plastic water feed tube. Replace defrost heater assembly.

Parts had to be ordered from GE but once they were available, Christie's called to set up a service appointment. Technician arrived on time and completed repairs promptly. Technician was knowledgeable and professional.

It was Wednesday march 23. Refrigerator started making bad electrical sparking noises and was blowing smoke out the back. I unplugged it and consulted Angie's list. Listed high was Cristie's, which is where we bought the fridge from. I called and the person said they couldn't come out till Monday. I said OK. Then a while later I called back and asked them what to do for the 5 days. A different person asked me again what is wrong. They said that wasn't what was on the ticket. They told me to hold and then said they could have a guy out in the afternoon. He showed up even earlier and fixed it promptly. What a relief. I gave him a $20 tip.

It went great, the staff was very helpful. I got all stainless Frigidaire brand kitchen appliances and a white Frigidaire washer and dryer. When everything was delivered the refrigerator door opened the wrong way, so they redelivered a refrigerator that opened to the other side for no extra charge.
Description of Work: We bought a new fridge, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven and hood, and had them delivered and hooked up.

My call to Christie's was answered promptly and politely. Contact apologized that he couldn't get anyone out for 3 days (Friday->Monday). Appliance vendor (GE) couldn't come for a week... Said they would call morning of service. They called right on time, and arrived when they said they would. Serviceman was polite, competent and cleaned up after himself. This is the way Repair companies should be!
Description of Work: Technician diagnosed and repaired freezer portion of a side-by-side frig/freezer. Problem was a defective circuit board -- controller.

This company's service was great from start to finish. They were on time, the serviceman was polite and informative, and the job was completed quickly and very well. The serviceman even noticed that it would be easier for me to switch the door on the dryer from one side to the other, and did it in a snap after asking me. I didn't even know you could change a dryer door orientation. I don't think I'd ever call anyone else after this experience. Considering the quality of work, I think the price was great too.
Description of Work: Christie's installed my washer and dryer after moving into my new home. They also put a new plug on the dryer.

The sale and installation were satisfactory but the offered rebate was a hoax. There were repeated attempts to blame the rebate center and reports of "the check is in the mail" but they don't stand behind their rebates when all is said and done. And you will not receive the rebate.

The service call was on time. They give a 2 hour window for you, and will call if that can't be met. The repairman was very honest about the leaking washer. It could be fixed, but it would cost about 65% of what a new washer might cost. He also indicated that the transmission might have been damaged because of the leak, or might show problems sooner than expected. His quote did not cover that. I asked about the expectancy of this model. He said between 10 and 12 years, so all in all it seemed like I needed to go shopping for a new washer. I had read consumer reports recently, and asked for his recommendation on a good unit, and he immediately said Whirlpool. Consumer Reports had recommended them also (among others) and said they were very reliable, which is important to me. One other thing I really liked was that if you came into Christie's and bought an appliance after paying a service call, they give you a $25 coupon towards the washer, so that service call really cost $37.
Description of Work: I called a number of appliance repair companies, got quotes and an estimate on when they could look at my leaking washer. Christie's was able to get there in a reasonable time, already had the model number on record (I bought the Armana washer from them 10 years ago) and there quote was competitive. They came as scheduled, examined the washer and gave me a quote for the repair. I decided not to have the washer fixed, as it was over 230 dollars, and other problems could still be there after the leak was fixed with the new seals. I paid $62 for the service call.

Very smooth easy experience. Was shown some different models, asked some questions, and was able to decide what I wanted. Set up installation on a mutually agreed day. Showed up on time, and did a great job of installing both appliances. Very satisfied.
