Chimney Cricket & Lucky Cricket Chimney Sweep

Everything was fine except the fact that it took several calls to finally get an appointment. At one point, I was told he’d call me right back, which he never did. After a few calls calls and voicemails (on my end) later, he finally got back to me 2 weeks later to schedule an appointment.

As described above. Took total of ten minutes.

It was determined that a cleaning was not needed. Technician suggested that a chimney cap would help protect the chimney from possible damage in the future. Technician took measurements, check and said it would take two weeks. After four weeks I contacted the company and was told that the order 'had slipped through the cracks' and that they would correct and order. They would then come and install it. Kept looking at the roof and did not see evidence of anything done until recently. I am not sure of the actual date of installation.

Great- New damper at chimney top to seal out water, new bricks in firebox and new connection between firebox and chimney. Successful maintenance and repairs.

They came and said it was a simple fix. All I needed was to replace a seal. They had one in the truck and fixed it immediately. They could have said I need more replaced and I wouldn't have known any better, but they were honest and fair. Thanks!!!!

Called Mike at Chimney Cricket and his response was instant, his work quick and professional, and cost was very reasonable given the amount of work needed to to repair the fireplace and restore safety to the home. I cannot imagine anyone doing a better, more professional and time sensitive job than the team at Chimney Cricket!

We had a new washer and dryer installed and found that the dryer vent was clogged with lint. Chimney Cricket was recommended as a good provider for this service. I called this company and was told they could come out in two days. They came on the day and at the time indicated. They performed the dryer vent cleaning quickly and efficiently. I was very impressed with their professionalism and thoroughness in performing the job. I highly recommend this company for dryer vent cleaning.

We have a 60 year old fireplace. The flue was cracked and Chimney Cricket Chimney Sweep put in a new stainless steel liner. We had gotten an estimate a few years back from them and the cost was about the same. He was very honest and upfront with us. He said that he was glad he didn't do it back then. He had went through some additional training and learned about this new system. He was very reliable and did a good job on the fireplace.

Great expereince. We purchased a foreclosed home in moderate disrepair. We were concerned about using the two chimneys and did not kow if they had ever been cleaned. We called Chimney Cricket based on Angie's list reviews, and were able to get an appointment at our earliest convenience. A "maximum" price was quoted to me over the phone, as I was concerned that we would need the max repairs due to the history of our house. The price we paid was indeed much less. He inspected the chimneys and it turned out that someone had cemented the chimney caps to the chimneys. We were told what our options would be from not using the fireplace, to special logs we could burn, to a referral for replacement. We opted to have the main chimney cleaned and use the special logs recommended (more like candles), as we do not use the fireplace for heat. He was able to clean almost to the top with his special equipment from the inside of our house, and did not leave behind a spec of dust! There was a handle missing on our damper, and he instruced us how to use it. He also told some special "chimney sweep" stories to our kids, who now think getting the chimney cleaned is a special and exciting event. With regard to our second chimney, he could determine it had only been used a couple of times, and did not charge us to clean it. I have no doubt that a less honest company would have recommended that we tear off both chimney caps and replace them with something newer and would have charged more to clean the two chimneys. Another great experience.

Arrived on time. Had all equipment necessary. Explained the procedure. Proceeded as described. Professional attitude and behavior....both in terms of interaction with customer (us) and how he handled the job.

They do chimney repair as well. We used them about three weeks ago. It wasn't cheap but it was probably in line. The price was fair for what they did. I liked that they were very thorough in everything they did. The person who came seemed like he really knew what he was doing. He gave a lot of details. He told us the material he was using to do the tuck pointing. He gave a lot of information. I don't have anything to compare them to.

This is the second time I've used this company. My first service call, in 2011, was to clean out my air ducts. This service call was to have a chimney swept that I am sure hadn't been cleaned in several years and showed signs of abuse (large fires burned, no maintenance). I was really impressed at how the tech, Ramiro, handled the cleaning and inspection.First, he explained to me several things about the fireplace. He showed some of the wear and tear and explained why my flue was stuck in the open position (easy repair that he performed free of charge). Next, he set to cleaning the fireplace. He was very thorough and laid down plenty of floor covering - when he was done, there was no dust or soot anywhere near the fireplace area or surrounding furniture. Finally came adding some exclusion material to my chimney cap. I had heard some birds around the chimney and I suspected there wasn't any screening around the cap to keep the critters out. Ramiro added screening and replaced the nails in my chimney cap with screws so that the cap would be better secured over time (homebuilders typically use nails vs. screws and the nails work loose with wind/weather causing your chimney cap to move and let critters/water in). All prices were exactly as quoted and expected. Service was prompt and courteous - I would definitely use this provider again.

It went really well. It was the first time I'd had used them. I would use them again if I needed to.

Response to my initial phone call was prompt and knowledgeable. Appointment was made quickly and kept right on time. Service was done competently and in one visit. Very friendly and courteous.

Michael repaired our fireplace quickly and efficiently. He did an excellent job of keeping everything clean during and after the work. The work performed looks good, which is as far as my expertise can judge the quality. My only minor issue was that he arrived over an hour later than our appointment time. I would definitely have him back if I needed more work.

My chimney had not been swept in several years in all likelihood (just bought the house). Guy came on time, did a good job, and he did a great job of keeping everything clean. Highly recommended.

He called ahead and arrived promptly

Extremely well. I called them and spoke with Don, who scheduled a time for the installation and cleaning to occur. Two Chimney Cricket people came 5 minutes early. They explained to me everything that they were going to do, and then set about working. I was concerned about our carpets, which had been recently cleaned, but not one spot of soot went on the carpet. Once everything was installed, they explained to me how the lyemance damper works.

I had them in shortly after I had moved into my home. They said that the chimney had never been cleaned and if I would have started a fire the chimney could have caught on fire. The walls of the fireplace were lined with very thick soot. They did a great job considering that I have white carpet and there was no soot left behind. I had called around and they did have a most reasonable price. I would recommend them.

They did a decent job of cleaning the areas; however, soot from the fireplace was not properly contained and a fine layer covered carpets and other surfaces.
