Awesome job! They were super communicative in the estimate and scheduling process. The install crew were all really nice guys who did an amazing job. Our floors look beautiful. We have a stone fireplace and the installers went way above and beyond making the floor sit right against it instead of just grouting the gap. We seriously could not be happier.

Work was completed timely in 3 days. Tile appears to be a different brand than quoted.

The carpeting looks great and the carpet layers were true professionals. They went out of their way to help with moving furniture and cleaning up. We are very happy with the carpeting. The tile was set to our satisfaction and looks good. We removed the baseboards ourselves. However, the casings to a doorway had to be shortened to allow for the tile to fit under the casing. About 1/4 to 3/8 inch more than was needed was sawn off the casing and required some extensive repair. We were unhappy with that part of the job.

Very badly. Larry came to our home and showed us sample of wall-to-wall carpet. We decided we wanted a patterned carpet so bought a sample and brought it to the store. Larry looked at the back and said it could be cut to the size of our small room and tacked down wall-to-wall by the installer he uses named Patrick. We were thrilled. He quoted us an installation price of $150 plus $21 for a pad. We called him two days later and said the newly completed room would be ready to carpet on Friday. He said it would take 2-3 work days. There were two issues: 1. No one called or gave us an install date. From Patrick it was always, "I'll call tomorrow and let you know my schedule." I called the office and talked with Larry's son Dan who said he didn't know if Patrick was still ill and didn't have his schedule. Patrick said Dan is the one who creates his schedule! The install finally happened just over a week later but we had to be available every day until then in case that was the install day. 2. The more serious issue was that when Patrick and Alex arrived, Patrick said they could not tack strip the area rug! He said they could only loose lay it, which means basically putting down double-sided tape around the room, cutting a mat 3 inches smaller than the room and then laying the rug down on the sticky tape. This is absolutely not what we had agreed upon! So now there is a 3" depression around the circumference of the room where the rug has no mat and there are also raggedy edges along the walls where the rug was cut. I tried to get Patrick to explain why he couldn't turn over the edges of the rug and tack it down but he never gave me an answer. Rather he said, "Don't you trust me?" Well...no, not really. I would suggest you hire a different company, one that is responsive to customers and doesn't promise something it can't deliver. UPDATE: 2/22/2017 I spoke with Larry today. He started by saying now he will never recommend anyone to anyone and blamed the installer. I tried to tell him that it was he who said that our area rug could be cut and tack stripped. He started yelling and said what do you want? Do you want me to send you a check for $1,000. Then he said, I'm giving you the phone number of my attorney. I said I am not talking about litigation, he hung up on me. Do not use this company!

We were delighted! Larry, the owner, spoke with us several times as we looked for just the right tile and gave good advice. He was unfailingly gracious. We had several conversations, as the right color was hard to find. The final selection was just what we needed and we felt that the price for the flooring and installation was fair. The installer, Carlos, was highly skilled, punctual, considerate and a genuine craftsman. We highly recommend this local business.

This was by far one of the best experiences from start to finish. Larry is truly the best! Honest and respectful of budget. I will never go to another carpet place, nor will I ever recommend any place other than The Carpet Store and More!

The installation went well. The tile, carpet, baseboards look really good. We primarily worked with Larry Horchwert and found him to be fair and honest. All of the subcontractors were very competent and have worked with the Carpet Store for years. We liked that they could do the baseboard replacement as well as carpet and tile replacement. They were flexible in that they were willing to work with any tile we chose whether it was offered by the Carpet Store or another company. When we first went to the store, we were planning to have tile from another company installed but ended up finding tile that was perfect from the Carpet Store. We felt their products were good, their service was excellent, and their pricing was very fair. When they went to install the tile, they found they unexpectedly had to remove old vinyl which cost them an extra day. There was no extra charge. They also didn't charge to move furniture. We would not hesitate to recommend them or hire them again.

The carpeting job went well. It is what happened next that was such great service. The carpeting proved to be defective. The folks at the store gave us some things to do to ensure there was a problem and upon confirming there was, they arranged to replace the whole house with no problems whatsoever. They were friendly, helpful and courteous. We recommend them highly.

This company suffers from two basic problems: 1) the estimates they provide have no detail, other than a list of tasks and materials and a total cost, and 2) they have the most horrific pre- and post-sales customer service I've ever experienced. The experience was actually insulting. My wife and I selected this company at least partly because of the many good reviews here on Angie's List. Once I realized that their sales order provided no details (yes, I should have noticed this earlier), I contacted the owner (who had come out to our house to measure), asking for a more detailed breakdown. For tax and personal record-keeping purposes, I needed more than just a list of stuff with a total price at the bottom of the page. In the interim, I had measured the rooms myself and the total cost (including baseboard removal and re-installation, and all closets) was about TWO THOUSAND dollars less than the total price on the purchase order. Without accusing this company of anything, I re-visited the store, met with the owner, and asked him to explain the difference and possibly come out to remeasure. This is where things went strangely downhill. The owner became difficult and went into a long-winded and rather suspicious explanation about "extras" and the need to "overmeasure". That may be so, but TWO THOUSAND dollars worth? And why weren't these details fully explained at the time the order was taken? I also found out in the conversation that we were charged more than told for some things -- we were told that the baseboard work was $2.00 a foot, but they actually charged $2.25. We were told that the removal of all the old carpet tack strips and prep was included, but they were also attempting to charge extra for this. Our sales order even says, "Includes all tear out and prep". Finally, I just asked that the order be canceled and our card refunded. The owner agreed -- but then began personally insulting me (he insulted my work as a computer security professional, and accused me of not being able to do math when figuring square footage). I would strongly urge anyone thinking of doing business with this company to insist on a fully detailed invoice -- up front -- before payment. Look at the fine print. Ask for the details before handing this company money. I wish to point out that this business could have saved the deal by simply being forthcoming with information and pleasant to deal with. Instead, I found the exact opposite. I was willing to do business with them until the owner went off the deep end. I will acknowledge that the owner has assured me of a full refund, I will at least give them credit for not trying to stick me with a poorly executed deal. But the fault for this lies squarely on THEIR shoulders, not mine as a customer. If you want to keep customers, provide them with the details, discuss any extra charges with them, and for heaven's sake don't insult the integrity of a customer because you're "sick and tired of customers who can't measure properly". If you can't handle customers with questions, then save yourself the stress and go out of business.

All went smoothly the carpet is beautiful

I required new flooring in a home that was the estate of my parents in order for me to sell the home. The price was fair, the service excellent and the final impression was favorable. The carpet supplied was of good quality and with padding the price was reasonable. The installation was flawless. Great job!!!!

Our experience with The Carpet Store was outstanding. We were given excellent advice in picking the appropriate commercial grade carpet and pad for our needs and within our budget. The measuring went smooth and professional. The day before the installation, the lead installer stopped by to check out the space. The day of the install, Jorge and his crew arrived on time. They carefully removed the old carpet, pad, tack strips and baseboards, keeping the dust to a minimum (very important since we are a clothing store). They also removed wood laminate from our dressing rooms. The concrete floor was thoroughly scraped and vacuumed before they began installing the new carpet and pad. Once the new carpet was installed, it was vacuumed again. Due to the fact that our store was fully stocked at the time of the install, we had placed all of our racks and merchandise on one side of the store while they carpeted on the other side. Once the first side of the store was completed, all of those racks and merchandise needed to be moved to the other side. The crew even pitched in and helped us move racks! I am so very impressed by the professionalism of all the staff we interacted with. The installers worked together like a well oiled machine. Our store was left as clean as it was when they arrived and there were no marks left on our freshly painted walls. Obviously, we would highly recommend.

It went very well. Heavy furniture and bed removed from room with no problems. Padding and carpet installed very rapidly and furniture returned to proper locations. Very satisfied.

It was great! We went to the store and made an appointment for them to come out and measure. They were really good about staying within our budget. They were very good. They cleaned up their messes and I was able to keep the extra carpet that was left.

Six months prior to the carpet being installed we requested a quote from The Carpet Store. The sales rep, Gary, came to our home and issued a quote for the job which was held in force until other home projects were completed thereby allowing us to proceed with the carpet install in late May. Patrick Nelson and his install team arrived on time on the day of the install, moved all our furniture out of the impacted rooms without any wall or molding damage, removed our old carpet, prepped the floor for new carpet and installed the new carpeting. Following install they returned all our furniture to its original positions in the bedrooms without incident. All work was done efficiently and to our total satisfaction. Following the install, we noted a portion of the carpet installed had a dimpled defect in a very conspicuous position in our foyer. We called The Carpet Store reporting the problem and the CEO Mark came to our home the very next day to investigate. Upon inspection he confirmed the defect and committed to replace the carpet strip in the foyer ASAP. Within one week Patrick and his team returned and installed the new carpet piece quickly and without hassle. We would recommend The Carpet Store without reservation for their quality work, customer service and competitive price.

We needed to recarpet three rooms of our house before putting it on the market. I looked at carpeting from a number of locations, and Carpet Store had good quality carpet on sale, so I chose them. They were very accomodating of our deadlines, and worked closely with us to assure that the carpeting would arrive and be installed in time. This meant monitoring the carpet departure from the Georgia warehouse, transit, arrival on the docks. The man who did the measuring worked closely with me and was responsive throughout. The reason for the B in professionalism is that the owner was whiny and non-responsive -- he had been in the business too long to want to be bothered with my questions after I had written a $3000 check. I wanted to tell him that no one was making his stay in that business, but I held my tongue and talked instead with our salesman, who was very helpful. On the installation day, a large and efficient crew arrived and basically did all three rooms and stairs at once -- it was a bit chaotic, but all went well. The rooms look great, we are very happy with the carpeting, and our new buyers are also happy with it.

All the workers were very professional and helpful. I had already moved most of the small items from the rooms, so all that needed to be done is move all the large furniture and install the carpet. All was done in record time - about 5 hours, including putting back all the furniture after the installation. The carpet looks wonderful and I was very satisfied with the service.

The owner himself came out to measure the space. The installers took the time to do the job right. They were very willing to work with our schedule.
