Roots had grown into the entrance of the septic tank. There had been cheapo pipe used between the house and the tank, and there was a low spot. They came out one day and found the issue and told us what should be done, not knowing exactly the configuration of the pipe layout. The main guy had been to college for waste water treatment and really knew his stuff. We appreciated all the info he gave us about our system. We thought about it, ruled out digging it up ourselves and called them back. They came back a couple of days later. Their fee the first day was rolled into the total. They dug ug up the pipe (and carefully set the colored gravel rock aside), cut out the compromised pipe, installed 2 clean outs (one sweep toward the house, one toward the tank). They created the proper slope for drainage, had to carve out the tank a little, sealed it all up with a flexible rubberized compound, and then buried the pipe and replaced the pretty gravel as if it never happened. They were great and we felt it was well worth it.

It was doing fine but wondered if I should have it replaced because it was so old. I didn't want to deal with this problem in my advance old age. John explained that he could easily put in a new one for $4,000, but said that many lines last quite long provided they are pumped regularly - which I had done every 2-3 years since I put it in. With this in mind he suggested a clean out pipe along the line through which I could monitor the line and directly add root-killing copper sulfate (instead of flushing it into the system from inside the house). It would also serve as a way to mechanically clean the line line if I should have a problem in the future. In other words, don't cross a bridge before you come to it. | |So a no brainer. I went with the much cheaper option. John and his partner showed up on time and completed the installation in line with my suggestions. I am quite happy with the result and ready for another 30 years of a trouble-free septic system.

An other test that would take 24 hours is required to qualify the land for the septic system I choose. They arrived on time and accomplished the assessment in a timely manner. Two people arrived to do the assessment and both people were professional in their demeanor and work. Price while somewhat high for the work accomplished was not exorbitant. I would use this company again.

Needed to have the septic tank pumped and inspected as regular maintenance. Made an appointment by email. Busy D's technician arrived on time, and the job was done in 30 minutes. We had already excavated the tank access hatches, so cost and time may be higher if they do the digging. The technician gave us a verbal report on our system's condition and recommendations for future maintenance.
