After an extensive multi-year renovation project at our home we waited until the end to replace our asphalt driveway because of the extensive large truck traffic during these years of construction work. As they say “we saved the best for last.” Ben at Beyond Brick was hands down the most exceptional of all the dozens of contractors we dealt with over these past four years. He does what he says he will, does it on time and most important exactly the way we had discussed. The transformation to our property cannot be over stated. Beyond Brick’s work was exceptional and I would not hesitate to recommend in the highest way this company. Ben who owns & manages the day to day operations at Beyond Brick is an honest, straight-forward businessman always involved in the daily work being performed and constantly making certain the customer is pleased. I am hard to impress. Ben exceeded every one of my expectations and then some and I could not be more satisfied with the completed project and look. After years of disappointment with other companies ending with him & Beyond Brick was awesome. If you need pavers installed look no further because there is no one better, period!

The work was done 3 or 4 years ago. The driveway looked wonderful and at the time I gave them good reviews. Since then, several of the solar lights died. At first they replaced them. Now they say the lights are no longer available. In addition, I have an area where the pavers are sinking. I have been trying to get this repaired for at least four months. In the beginning they led me on by saying they were looking for a time to come out. They never found a time and now they no longer return calls or answer emails. They are clearly focused on finding new customers and could care less about servicing existing customers. I have hired another company to fix the pavers and a different company to remove and replace the lights. I would never do business with these people again. The owner, whom I originally dealt with, is a guy named Ben. Once the job was done, he was nowhere to be seen. I was at the mercy of the young lady who runs the office. And she was clearly not interested in helping me. Beware.

I called twice and got an answering machine both times. I left detailed messages both times of what I wanted done asking that they please call me back to schedule an estimate. Both times no response, even though they are CONSTANTLY advertising in TheHomeMag and via mailers to my home to attract new business. If they are too busy for my small to medium job, I would have expected, and appreciated, a simple call back telling me such. Also, if they're too busy to respond to smaller jobs they should put that in their advertisements.

Ben quoted a competitive price with all details in a written contract. Beyond Brick started on time. The crew was friendly and very accommodating. They maintained the curves of the previous layout and the curves around a tree island. Since the driveway was torn up, they brought our garbage and recycling bins to the curb and later returned them to the house. Our questions were answered promptly by the crew leader. When they finished they cleaned up after themselves. We are very satisfied with the quality of the Belgard product and the installation by Beyond Brick. Our neighbors have given us many compliments on the driveway.

Started one month after deposit received. Rescheduled three times. Only started after we threatened to cancel the contract. Work was exceptional. A week later we discovered that they had poured excess concrete into the wash, completely blocking the storm drain and flooding the street. Denied it, although the drain had been perfectly clear the week before work started and no one else in the neighborhood had any work done that week. It took threatening to file a complaint with the county and the AZ Contractors board before they came out and fixed it.

Ben, from Beyond Brick (the proprietor I assume(, showed up and gave us an initial estimate. It was fair and written down as a bid. They have an outdoor showspace downtown where you can look at examples of their brick pavers. (Belgrade is the brand). He also gave us a list of 30+ recently completed projects in our area. We got lots of other bids for both pavers and concrete. Beyond Brick seemed the best value. Installation process went smoothly. There was a problem getting the city to approve a slight curb-cut to enlarge the driveway opening. Ben was on site every morning, dealt with the city inspector, and presented the options to us. We decided to do this section in concrete, which Beyond Brick handled at a good price and to the city's approval. The installers were there early ever day and the whole project took about a week. End result is stunning, have received many complements from neighbors and passersby. I don't see why anyone would pay more for concrete when these pavers look better and last forever without cracking.

We had a badly cracked exposed aggregate colored concrete driveway that Beyond Brick removed (and recycled) and replaced with brick pavers. They also redid the concrete front porch with matching pavers, and covered a textured concrete back porch with the same pavers. We are extremely pleased with the results and the professionalism of this company. The crews are true craftspeople - the care taken to cut and fit edges made a huge difference in the appearance of the finished job. They had to remove some of the concrete walkway in the front and back areas to tie in the new pavers with the existing concrete walkways at the sides of the house, and they did this beautifully. There is also a walking trail in the community at the street that they had to align with the driveway, and also a repair to the asphalt where it joins the driveway. All of this was done very well. The only hiccup we had was weather. The rains at the end of December and the first week of January caused a delay in doing the final sanding/sweeping as everything was just too wet, but that was done as soon as it was dry enough to do it properly. As for cost - this company's price was very reasonable, and one company we talked with said they would have "subcontracted to Beyond Brick" if they had been given the job. We wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone thinking of having this type of work done.

The job went very smoothly. It started one day later than originally scheduled but I was alerted ahead of time that they would start a day late. The crew of three was there everyday from start to finish. We were impressed from the start by the craftsmanship of the crew. The job ended up taking several days more than originally scheduled, but the care and craftsmanship that went into the job made the wait worthwhile. There were a couple glitches along the way, but the crew told me what was going on and took care of the issues as they arose. None of the glitches cost me more money. The finished product is beautiful. My wife and I agree that it was money well spent as the project significantly enhances the appearance of the house.

I bid out for three proposals. One company cancelled, one company never responded, Beyond Brick not only responded, but the owner Ben showed up at precisely 7:00 AM for the meeting we scheduled! From meeting one, I knew this would be the company to complete the hardscape portion of landscape plans we had drawn up Beyond Brick is a licensed Belgard dealer, so I knew it was guaranteed they would work to Belgard's specs. Ben provided a free estimate and returned to the house on three separate ocassions to provide advice, guidance and help us pick the final Belgard product we chose. He did that for free, to which we know he did not have too. Each time he showed up to the house, he showed up on the minute of the time we scheduled. We found this to be very impressive! Work was scheduled to begin October 1 and all the Belgard product was delivered September 30. We were a little disappointed when Beyond Brick had to repair a major problem at another job site and we were advised our job was going to start on October 2. I advised Ben I wanted them to provide the same quality to our job as all others and I did not want them rushing my job to get to another job. We were assured Beyond Brick built in enough days to finish our project. We could not be any happier with the finished product. The professionalism and expertise their workers possess in completed hardscape paving was enjoyable to watch. Now, after seeing our finished product, it was no problem to wait an extra day because we realized they provided us the same care and concern they were obviously providing some other customer. They began promptly at 6 am each day and worked throughout the day. Both the front and back patios are perfectly graded to allow for water drainage. I requested plants and shrubs to be removed in addition to the font yard work, which they promptly took care of for us and removed from our property. They handled all additional plumbing in the front yard for pots that we wanted to place on the patio when it was completed. They took care of all of the drip system plumbing prior to completing the patio. In both the front and back yards we have several curvatures that came out perfectly. What was most impressive was our back patio , which has two round curvatures of equal size Beyond Brick created with the pavers. Initially one of the curvatures did not come out in mirror fashion like the other. When I pointed it out to Ben and his workers, they took all the pavers out of the incorrect curvature and redid it. We were happy with the redo, though the first curvature was perfect the second one was close enough. However, when Ben examined the redo, he was not happy with its result and stated it was unacceptable and he was going to have his employees come to our house on a Saturday and redo it again. Ben was clear he would not accept anything less than perfect and he held himself and his company to a very high standard. The back yard patio and curvatures are absolutely impressive and look amazing. My wife was beyond impressed when I told her what Ben told me about the redo and how he would not accept anything less than a perfect job. The compliments we continue to receive from friends and neigbors have not stopped. My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with Ben's precision and the standard of work he holds himself and employees too. Everytime I am in front of my house we continue to receive comments on how beautiful the front looks and how the paving turned out. The individual who drew up our landscaping plans saw Beyond Brick's final product this past week and was wholly impressed with what they did and how the finished product came out. Yes, Belgard is the top product in pavers in my opinion. However, it helps to have a company like Beyond Brick, a certified Belgard Installer, install the product. Their motto is, "Beyond Brick, Beyond Your Expecations." We would agree, the final product is beyond our expectations. I would absolutely use Beyond Brick again should we move on and purchase another house. We absolutely recommend Beyond Brick to handle your hardscape work. I would recommend Beyond Brick to my family and friends.

They installed pavers on our patio. They essentially laid brick. We had started the job and we ran out of the color pavers we were using. He came in at the estimate and said he would take out the bricks to redo everything. I didn't get another quote because he impressed me with his knowledge.

The first two days of the job there was a crew of five regrading the landscape and building the wall and their pace was impressive. When the pavers arrived it was soon discovered that about half of the pavers were covered in a white (calcium?) leachate. These pavers were initially quarantined and more was to be ordered. The next day a lot of these white pavers were installed and they explained to me that ordering more pavers as we had discussed would push back the timeline, the new pavers may come in the same condition, and that the mineral white coating would eventually settle out. We agreed to remove the newly installed white pavers and wait for more to arrive. After the paver portion of the job was complete next came the building of the barbecue island and the veneering of the walls. This is where the job really started to drag on. We were already at 2 weeks on a job estimated at 7 to 10 days. covering the walls in a slate veneer took over 2 months. Sometimes there was 2 guys working but most days no one showed up. They did not have an employee capable of doing a good job of this task, it became very clear Beyond Brick is a paver company, and they had no business bidding this job. When it came to covering corners the slate pieces were simply cut at a 45 and wedged together. aghhh! So now when you stand at looking directly at the corner you can see between the two wedged pieces to the concrete blocks underneath. There was also a gap at the top of the wall between the top sheet of slate and the wall's capstone. In some areas this gap was 1/2 inch and in others 1 and 1/2 inches. Instead of cutting slate to fit in the gap, they grouted it. In the years that have passed around 10% of the slate has fallen off due to the cheap quickcrete they used to install it. When I mentioned the 45 degree corners and the grout, the owner of beyond brick became defensive about how much money they were losing on this job and lost productivity at other work sites. We settled on knocking $900 off the price and the rest of the work was on my own to finish. I agreed to this settlement not because I thought it was a good deal for me, but because I wanted it over.

The actual brick work was very good and I would give it an A. But the landscaping guy he subcontracted to deserves a C or lower for the patio lighting and plants.

I met with the owner and went over what needed to be done. the team did a good job however the pavers were not a good match and, while I believe this was fundamental to doing the work, the owner wanted extra to make me happy ie, match pavers. again, fundamental to the job. so, not happy.

GREAT! The work is beautiful (their craftsmen are artists) and we've increased the value of our home substantially due to their work. With the scope of the work they did for use, they were here several weeks, but they were onsite every day (unless a holiday or weekend) and worked until the job was complete. They always had the materials here before they were needed, and the people to do the work. We really appreciated their craftsmen and Ben, the owner. We couldn't be happier.
