Other contractors we contacted from Angie's List quoted between $10,000 and $15,000. One recommended that we hire an electrical engineer to design the new layout. When Pedro Barcelo arrived I noticed that electrical engineering was listed on his truck as a service he provides in addition to contracting. He did the most thorough walk through and ended by doing a load calculation to evaluate our need. He sent me a bid for around $5000 is I remember correctly with the caveat that if unanticipated issues arose, they would be handled on a time and materials basis. He and I both expected the unexpected. The fellow from whom I bought the house had built it himself and had lived in it for 30 years. He had done the wiring himself and didn't really know what he was doing. With the unexpected problems and stuff we added on as the work was being done the total came to $7,700. I was happy to pay it. I have great confidence in Pedro Barcelo and his employees.

Mr. Barcelo returned my initial call promptly. The first home he went to was built pre-50's. He found the issue with the one receptacle and fixed it. Checked all other receptacles which were in desperate need of replacement. The second issue was resolved concerning"surges". He explained to tenant how to prevent future problems and did not charge me. I am very pleased with him and will continue to use him for all my electrical needs.
