 + -1 moreWe made an appointment with Baker Brothers Pluming to get an estimate for some plumbing work. The appointment was made over a week in advance specifically so that it would be on one of my days off from work. The appointment was set for some time between 10 and 2 which basically took up my whole day off. Well guess what. Not only did Bakers Brothers not show up, they didn’t even bother to call. We did not call them that day. We figured that the appointment was made so they should be professional enough to honor the appointment. It turns out that missed out on a job that could have made them around $3000 - $5000. Do yourself a favor and call someone else or risk being stood up like we were.

 + -1 moreDiscovered the water main break about 9am. Call right away and talked to Vicky. She was very nice, said they could have someone out between noon and 4pm. Jason and William showed up promptly at 4pm. They got right to work and found the break at the PVC connection. They had to dig deep, fixed the connection and we had water by 6pm. Very happy with everything they did. They even raked and made it like the leak never happened. We will certainly use them again.
Description of Work: We had a water main break between the house and the meter, the pvc connector had to be replaced.

They did exactly what they said they were going to do and communicated clearly every step along the way. I could not have hoped for a better experience.

 + -1 moreBB re-piped our home's water pipes in 2009 . They left the old galvanized water pipe's cut ends in the walls (the water lines run through the attic of a single story ranch style house). Copy the link below into your browser to see an image for the setup of our old water system: http://i58.tinypic.com/2d7dlc8.gif We were unaware of the hot water recirculating line (installed by the previous homeowner) that was left connected between the old galvanized water pipes and the water heater. On Dec 6, 2014, our home was flooded. Water was pouring out of one of the galvanized ends in the wall. We traced the problem to the old hot water recirculating line. A check valve on the line near the WH had failed over time under pressure letting water back flow from the WH, back into the old galvanized system. BB admitted that the back flow from the recirculating line was the source of the flood. They disconnected and capped the recirc line at the WH on 12/9/14. BB admitted that they did not look at the water heater at the time of the re-pipe. BB admitted they were unaware of the hot water recirculating line that they left connected to the old system. BB agreed to cover the cost of the flood damage ($800), and our home is now back to normal. Thank you BB.
Description of Work: Disconnected a recirculating hot water line to the water heater, that they missed during their re-piping of our water system in 2009. They failed to notice this water line at that time that was connecting the old and new water systems, leading to a flood of the home in 2014.

 + -1 moreWe used Baker Brothers in 2011 and decided to call them when two gate valves failed. They came out on a Monday and replaced the valves, along with installing a new hose bib. The work is top quality and the price was quite reasonable. Baker Brothers is the only plumbing company that I would call.

 + -1 moreEverything went well. I was called first letting me know when the repairmen would arrive which was a little earlier than I thought it would be. The replacement took just about an hour. The new regulator was wrapped in insulation and looks professionally done. My only gripe would be that they don't warrant against bursting due to freezing which makes me think they could or should redesign the insulating process.
Description of Work: Replaced the water pressure regulator on the incoming water line from the city water supply.

 + -1 moreOur house was built with polybutalane (I don't know how to spell that) piping for its plumbing and when it sprung a leak we decided it was time to replace all the plumbing. Baker Brothers came out and were very professional. The price was fair--it was right in line with some other companies--and all the guys that did the work were polite, clean, respectful, and quick. We have a big house and I was surprised at how fast they started and finished...it was about a week and when they left the house looked like they'd never been there. Since then we had another issue come up (unrelated to the work they'd done before) and called them back out. The man that showed up had been one of the guys that had installed the new piping. He was great and fixed the issue quickly. I'd definitely use them again.

We have used Baker Brothers in the past for several plumbing projects and routine HVAC checks. We decided to replace both of our heating and cooling units----we have a dual zone system, so it was two of everything. Ken (our service tech) was great. When he came to service our units for the start of the cooling season, I discussed with him the condition of our compressors. I then asked for a quote to replace both systems and was pleased with the price. The installation went smoothly and was completed by the date promised. A flawless process from start to finish.

Description of Work: We had purchased two toilets from a big box store. In attempting to install them, we learned the bolts and the collar had rusted out. We couldn't simply replace them. The cement seating had to be leveled. We called Baker Brothers to do the work.

About an hour after my call, I got a call from the office saying that Doc was on the way. He arrived and fixed the problem very quickly. I have dealt with Plumbing companies all over the country during the past many years, and I can honestly say that Baker Brothers (and Doc) are the best ever. They are on time, professional, respectful of your property and up front on their pricing. I recommend them without reservation.
Description of Work: Broker Brothers repaired a leak that was caused when I accidentally drilled into the pipe. Fortunately, I got the water turned off immediately, so damage was minimal.

 + 0 moreThe service was EXCELLENT. Doc (the plumber) came by and gave me a very thorough estimate and described the options I had for water heaters. I agreed to the price and a time was set when he would be back to complete the work. He arrived on time, with a courtesy call from the office telling me that he was on his way. The work was done meticulously. Doc took the time to explain the new water heater. All of the other work was completed to my total satisfaction. The was an excellent experience.
Description of Work: I had Baker Brothers replace my water heater, re-pipe the natural gas connection to my stove to bring it to code, fix three bath faucets and replace PVC piping with copper for my automatic pool water leveler.

The remaining work of installing the new vanity, finishing wall of the bid was overcharged for what we discussed and expected and what was performed, plumbers were still very pleasant They know their plumbing -just don't expect them to do more than that.
Description of Work: 1. Install customer purchased vanity top with sink and faucet -very prompt and price within parameters of other bids. 2. Removed vanity , mirror and medicine cabinet in guest bath. - price in line with other bids. Plumbers were very pleasant. The repair of medicine cabinet hole with wallboard and damaged wallboad near floor and smooth in wall coating to match existing wall was done by us so that we could install the flooring. This relieved the bid of those activities. I called to tell them that we had completed part of what was bid and that I asked for an adjustment on the price of the final part of the bid. He said that they removed the mirror earlier without having bid it and that extra work would warrant no adjustment -I asked him to just be fair on the work performed. A week later, we had received the new vanity and called for installation -took 3 days to get thru to Mike, scheduled for the following week. 3. Installed new vanity, glass top with sink and new faucet - would not hang new mirror. They charged the total amount they had bid for all which was more than amount bid by others. I should have just cancelled and had the other plumbing company do this piece of the project, but truly trusted from all the reviews that they would be fair on the work performed. Disappointed and will not reuse this company

 + -1 moreIt went really well. The plumber was nice enough to actually start the job, leave to let me do more work, and then come back later to finish. They didn't charge more than one service call, which I thought was really nice. He completely the job quickly and did a great job.
Description of Work: Moved faucet in bathroom. Had to replace a shut off valve. Replaced all connection fittings and shifted the plumbing over about 6 inches. They replaced the new vanity and reconnected the new plumbing to new faucet, all of which were supplied by me.
