I called this morning around 9 am and they worked to fit me in that afternoon (Not a emergency repair or anything - just an inefficient A/C that wasn't getting as cool as it should). They called me back in 10 min and said they had a cancellation and could come out right away - I jumped on it and they showed up within about 30 min. The service technicians were fast, courteous and explained things well. Out within the hour and a/c seems good now! These folks made it very easy to do business with them from the first call through the service.

Very well. I was very happy with the technician, Nick's, knowledge and patience, explaining to me each step of his process to determine the problem (i.e. showing me the ice buildup) and possible fixes. He got this system going and gave me advice about the possibility of replacing a portion or in entirety our 10-year old unit. I had put off calling someone, not wanting to just pick someone out of the phone book. I'm very happy with B&J's work as well as the advice I received on Angie's List.

After being told by two separate companies that our air conditioning system needed to be replaced (at a cost of around $8500), we called B & J Refrigeration for an estimate for a replacement system. When Kurt came out, he was able to quickly determine that, in fact, the problem was being caused by an excessive buildup of dust, fur, hair, and whatever else has been floating around in the air for the past decade or so (my husband's negligence in changing the filters on a regular basis apparently led to a gradual buildup on the coils). Kurt was extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He took time to explain the problem in detail and show me exactly what had happened (and why the other two companies were flat out wrong in their assessments) and how he was going to correct it. Kurt thoroughly cleaned the coils and brought our system back from the (apparent) dead. It now blows better than it has in years and I'm certain our high cooling bills will be substantially reduced now that the system isn't having to blow through layers of debris. Words aren't enough to express our gratitude to Kurt, but I wanted to let everyone in Tucson know how honest, experienced and truly wonderful he is. B&J is now the only place we'll be going for any service to our air conditioning system and when the time actually does come to replace it, I know Kurt (and B&J) will give us a fair price and exceptional service. Thank you!

The appliance worked well the first year. When I reenergized the system the following season I discovered the original installer had crossed wires in the primary junction box. The installer returned to fix this without a charge. Later in the season the unit began leaking at the supply reservoir. We called for a service visit about the issue. The crew arrived at a time other than what I had arranged and there was no one home to direct them to the source of the problem. They failed to complete the entire repair. I called and asked the crew to return. They came back and finally completed the job. Both the overflow drain spout and the water supply shut off valve had failed after a single season of use and needed to be replaced. Cost of the parts: $29, cost of the labor to install the parts $186. A subsequent message left for the service manager to review the charges was never returned. Considering problems with the initial install, use of substandard components on the unit itself and the high cost of service calls, I cannot recommend BJ Refrigeration for HVAC work.

The initial experience of checking prices from HVAC companies in Tucson is frustrating. Everyone has a better deal than the next and you need to filter through Angie's List, the BBB, and friends to determine which company is the most reliable and offers the best deal (price and quality). After many HVAC presentations by company representatives, we knew that B&J Refrigeration was the perfect choice which it did prove to be. The initial contact with Kurt Astorga who outlined the HVAC offer was professional, knew the business and addressed our needs based upon the perameters we expressed. His pricing was understandable and not the " I can beat the other guys if they give you a lower offer." Every aspect of the HVAC system was explained and priced according to what we desired...no package pricing but a price built upon each entity of the HVAC system. The installation was actually an enjoyable experience. B&J techs, Lawrence and Dean were terrific. They were helpful in explaining the nuances of the system, installed both furnace and A/C units quickly, and cleaned up after the installation. After the installation date, I had a question concerning the system and Lawrence returned to assist me. Since installation, B&J has been extremely helpful with any questions concerning the new system. There customer service has been excellent. We highly recommend anyone searching for a new HVAC or general repairs to contact B&J Refrigeration.

They had an opening in their schedule and was able service my ac system a day earlier. The technician quickly diagnose the problem and began the necessary repairs. He pointed out another component that may need to be replaced in a couple of years and also made a suggestion as to when I should upgrade to a more efficient system. I definately will use their services again.

Everything went very well. They made time to meet with me for a quote and questions on my schedule. The had the best price by far.

Work was done efficiently and with great care. They explained everything about their installation. Tested both the air conditioner and furnace to make sure they were in working order. Explained the new thermostat and its operation and cleaned up after they left. Everyone I dealt with from B & J were extremely professional and punctional.

Kurt, the guy that gave me the estimate, was on time, and was very thorough to measure the house to see what size A/C was needed for my home. The day of the installation the guys were running 1/2 hour late, but they called to let me know they were on their way. Dean and Paul were the installers. They were very good at what they do. Dean let me know what was going on as they installed--which made me at ease. I recommend them. They are very hard workers.

I purchased an A/C tune-up special that this company had advertised on Angie's List. I have an older system that had not been serviced for several years, and I wanted to have it checked out. The B & J office worker I spoke to was very nice; she set up my appointment and told me the name of the technician who would do the work (Nick). He arrived on time, as scheduled, and spent about two hours going over my A/C and furnace. He showed me the read-outs my equipment was giving on his hand-held device, and he explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He made a couple of recommendations for parts that could be replaced to make my system run more efficiently, but he did not pressure me or try to make any hard sells for extra work. I authorized him to install the replacement parts, which he did (the cost for both was less than $40). Nick was very courteous and professional throughout the entire visit, and he seemed knowledgeable.

My air conditioning was not cooling so I looked on Angie's List for a refrigeration company. I found one with good recommendations and called. The company was very responsive and sent someone out the next day. Nick (the technician) arrived when he said he would, was extremely polite, listened to my problem and began assessing the situation. He explained everything he was doing and showed me and thoroughly explained everything along the way. We discussed my options and, when I decided on the option I would go with (replacing my air conditioning compressor) he called his office and they worked up a quote for me, which was an acceptable amount. Nick told me he could preform the service the next day and would begin at 8AM. He arrived at 7:55AM and got right to work. He needed my assistance (like providing hot water) throughout the day. He did an excellent, very professional job in the time frame that he said he would and left the job site very clean and my air conditioning unit performing very well. I would hire this company again in a minute and would recommend them to everyone for this type of service.

I like them, I think they do good work. I will continue using them in the future for our HVAC needs.

The workman replaced it within a few days at no charge. I found their service to be excellent. I bought the systems from them and they have done a great job maintaining it. I thought I heard a clanking noise and he the service man also heard the sound.

Their service was great. I got a real good deal on the price of the condenser motor as it was an emergency repair. I called a company I had used previously and they wanted me to pay triple to come right away. Jason Tejeda said I made the call during regular working hours so he would charge me just the regular price. I have already recommended him to some friends.

They were excellent. I had been told that my refrigerating unit had not been installed properly. It was in a home that I had bought from someone else. I spoke with about 3-4 air conditioning people and they were reasonable. They seemed to be very honest. They didn’t want to do more than what was necessary and only did what needed to be done.

Their service turned out just fine. Everything went fine. Our heating and air conditioning unit are working fine. We even recommended them to our son-in-law and daughter and they were very happy with their service as well. They were able to help them by saving money.

Estimator (Kurt) showed up on time for each appointment. Estimate was straightforward. *Note that I did not solicit multiple bids for this job so I can't really rate the price as I have no basis for comparison. Crew showed up 2 days after signing the contract to install A/C. They were half an hour early and finished the job 2 hours earlier than originally quoted. The work site was left clean and tidy. I had no issues and everything went according to plan, as expected from a company rated highly on Angie's List, BBB, etc.

I liked that they seemed professional and competent. I did not like that they made a mistake before in telling me to buy a wrong part and then they charged me to go get the correct part. The receptionist is helpful when talking to her.

B & J Refrigeration are wonderful. They were timely, professional, and go above and beyond to help you. The person who came was very nice and courteous. I would recommend their services and definitely use this company again.

Even though I have been a customer for several years, when my cooler broke in the heat of summer, they were not able or willing to schedule me for 5 days. Very poor customers service. I won't be using them again.

outstanding service from begining to end. I had four estimates to replace the AC unit. B & J had the best pricing. The work was completed on time with no problems. All staff was well trained.

Joe arrived at 8:00 AM (between 8:00-8:30), and was good at answering my question, explaining what parts do. Also condenser was very dirty, he flushed out condenser on all side. Very pleased with his visit.

I received several quotes before calling B & J Refrigeration. They quoted me a price that was about $500 higher than my lowest bid, but I decided to go with them because of the favorable reviews on Angie's list. I was not disappointed. The salesman Kurt Astorga worked with me during the entire process. Kurt made several suggestions for improving my duct work and air flow issues. The installers Paul and Dean showed up on time and worked late. They installed the system and fixed the problems that Kurt had pointed out. The installers only took two breaks in a nine hour day and worked like dogs. Kurt followed up the next day to make sure everything was okay. I have no reservations about recommending B & J Refrigeration.
