Our air conditioning stopped working. I called B & J on Monday and they sent Nick out the same day to do the diagnostic. I showed him the unit and he spent some time investigating. I felt the diagnostic fee was very reasonable (less than $50). He estimated the time for the repair and called right away to see if he could get the part. He though it would take a day, but he was able to get the part and came out on Tuesday to repair. The thing that impressed me most is Nick spent a lot of time showing me everything and explaining exactly what he was going to do. He was professional and detailed. He explained that he might encounter a leaking system which he would not be able to know until he removed all the refrigerant. He showed me his tank and had me look to see what the weight was so that I knew exactly what it was at from the start. He explained how much he thought should be in the system when he removed it. He told me he doesn't ever want to have to return to a customer's house because of not doing the best most thorough job the first time around. He also emphasized performing the work properly to standard. I honestly think he is one of the best tradesperson we have had come to our house for repairs and we have had plenty in the last year! Luckily we did not have a leak and he was correct about the piece that needed to be replaced. He estimated 4-5 hours of work and it was a correct estimation. I would absolutely recommend B & J to anyone who needed service.

We were in a 35-day stretch of 100+ degree heat when my A/C broke down on Friday afternoon after the 4th of July holiday. I found B & J Refrigeration through Angie's List and gave them a call. A live person answered the phone and switched me to a scheduler right away. Nick was the technician who came to troubleshoot the problem that afternoon, even though they told me they were extremely busy due to the heat, and they weren't sure they could send someone out that day or not. Nick was very professional and explained everything to me. I did not feel like he was trying to sell me anything I didn't need, and he didn't put any heavy-handed sales pressure on me. Since it was already Friday afternoon, they couldn't do the job until Monday. But Nick came back on Monday afternoon as promised, and did the job within the price range that he had quoted me. He was on time, he got the job done when he said it would be done, it was within the range that he had quoted me, and I got a discount from being an Angie's List member! I would definitely use B & J Refrigeration again, and I highly recommend them.

I would like to discuss my expedience with B & J Refrigeration. Our A/C went out on Sunday morning June30th, the temperature that week was near 110 degrees. I called four of the most highly rated A/C installers in Tucson to come to my home on Monday July 1st. I choose B & J because Lawrence, the rep from B & J, was not trying to sell me a product but was there to answer the questions that I had. One July 4th with temperatures over 100 degrees Jeff and his crew spent 11 hours installing the new system, they worked above and beyond the call. The temperature in the attic must have reached 150+. Everything was done to our satisfaction. The system has worked perfectly. We have a ten-year warranty on both parts and labor. The price was the most reasonable of all bids and about what I expected. I would highly recommend this company. .

Our air conditioner stopped working on a Saturday evening and we called very early Sunday morning and spoke with a live person. Nick arrived around an hour later and replaced a run capacitor and fan motor. Nick was very professional, courteous and friendly. He explained the work he was doing and answered all our questions. We were very happy with the cost and we would definitely use them again.

From the first phone call to Evone, the dispacher, to the first visit from the tech, Nick i was amazed at the quality of the service. It has been very hot out in AZ and i could not have been happier with the response and the service; even the resonablness of the cost. My air conditioning unit is 13 years old and the motor burned out. Nick located a motor early the next morning and was out to my home by 2:00 pm. That was because Evone worked out the schedule so Nick could come out that afternoon. Nick was so thorough and did such high quality work, i am delighted to write a rave review. i would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. i joined Angie's List just to find someone i could count on. i also got a discount from B&J Refigeration that practically paid for my 2 year membership at Angie's.

They looked at the air conditioning unit and told me that there was nothing wrong with it; that they just needed to figure out why it wasn't turning on. In short order they found the problem, burnt wire nuts in the furnace junction box. Though they had everything done and put back together, they readily opened up the furnace to show me where the problem was. The whole thing took less than one hour. I was very happy with the service!

After getting an outrageous quote from another provider, I contacted B&J Refrigeration on Friday and they installed the system on Saturday. The team was very professional and helpful and worked without a break to get the system installed because the outside temp was 102. The final price with a 10 year parts and labor warranty was less than half of the first quote.

the installation went well it took only a matter of a couple hours. We did have problems with wiring during that was done it took 3 follow up visits to correct. But for the last 9 months it has been no problems with the system.

Our air conditioner quit blowing cold air when it was about 108 degrees outside. After several calls to and getting voice mail, B&J actually answered. Since it was already late in the day, service could be provided but it would be considered emergency service and the price would be increased. This was OK with us since our house was now about 85 degrees. Jason arrived about 6:30pm and went right to work. He diagnosed the problem and repaired our unit as quickly as possible. We were completely satisfied with Jason's work and the price and will now use B&J for all our air conditioning needs.

Another company had installed a new cooler a couple of years ago, and I thought I would never see the end of repairing it. Six or eight service calls failed, and things just got worse and worse as various technicians damaged more parts. By the time I called B&J, the cooler had a rattly bent door, a blown-out fuse box, a leaky pan, a horrible noise problem in "automatic" mode, failure to drain off water properly, and almost no actual cooling. The family had quit complaining about the 95 degree living room because repair visits were worse; but when the mercury hit 105 last week I decided to try one more time. I chose this company after consulting Angie's List. On the phone, I warned B&J that I wanted a repairman with a good attitude and a functioning brain. They sent Matthew Dawson (together with his delightful son, Jake, who fixed up our second unit -- which also needed repair -- while Matt attacked the big problem). Matt grinned when I told him the story and said that he loved a challenge, it was more fun that way. Within an hour, Matt had found several problems including reversed wires inside the machine, a bad connection with the switch in the house, and several mechanical issues. He was cheerful and diplomatic and managed never to say bad things about the people who did the previous work. He made sure that I knew when he was off the clock, and he checked with me for approval before buying optional new parts. A replacement indoor on/off panel was not immediately available, so he proposed and implemented a temporary fix with a little inventiveness, and it worked perfectly. By the end of the day I had the coolest June afternoon that I've had in a long time. It cost a little more than the other companies charged for assorted sloppy efforts. But I have a working cooler now, after only one visit.

I was at work when they came. My daughter was home to show them where the AC/Heating units were. They called me at work to tell me what they needed to do to fix the blower and the cost. Everything went fine.

They arrived on time, and completed the installation quickly and carefully. The complete job took less than a day, and the cooler is able to cool the house very nicely.

B & J Refrigeration were very good. They came out and showed me what was wrong. I really like what they really did.

He was on time. Got things fixed quickly. This is the second time we used B&L. Other time was a repair on our AC system. We had a similar experince. We would definitely use again.

The sales person Larwence Bair was informative, polite and very nice. The installers Jeff, Dean and there was also another but forgot his name were super nice and knew what they were doing. They came and installed the 2 units from 8am and worked till around 4pm and didn't even take a lunch break so they could complete the job that day. I also had 3 wireless thermostats installed and they hooked it up and set it up on the computer and internet for me. They are the best. I would always use them in the future in the need arised.

Arrived promptly, evaluated current thermostat, recommended replacement, and installed the replacement.

Another AC contractor serviced our AC unit by putting in two pounds of freon and leak stopper. Afterwards the compressor made groaning noises and the unit eventually turned off and would not start. We hired B & J to get a second opinion. Nick determined our system had too much freon (over 7 pounds in a unit recommended for 3.5) and that it had no leaks. The excess freon was causing the compressor problem. He cleaned the coils and recharged the system to factory settings all for a cost less than half of what the other company charged. The AC now works great. We would recommend B & J and will continue to use them in the future.

Placed a service call a couple of days ago when inside temperature reached 83 degrees. The service call was at night. Technician promised someone would follow up the next day. No one called. I called in and was told someone would respond. To date, clerical person has not called back and no one has responded. Seems like once the system is installed, then you are on your own.

Lawrence came out and walked through the house, and went up on the roof to examine the old unit. A couple weeks later at the appointed time the installers came out with the new unit, an American Standard Silver 2.5ton 13seer. They disconnected the old unit and a few minutes later the crane driver showed up, lifted out the old unit and placed the new one. Even though it's a 2-story building he made it look easy. The installers connected the new gas line and ran a condensation line over to the drainage on the side of the building. There were some initial difficulties due to the thickness of the wall but Dale was up front about it and everything was completed in a reasonable amount of time and on budget. The unit was tested on cool and heat and has been running for the last week without issue.

They completed the job in a day, which was surprising given that other AC companies needed two days. They also applied for an air-conditioning permit from the city. The city approved it.

Prior to the installation, B&J sent an installer out to spec out the work, explained what the process would entail, and then provided a detailed quote of the work to be performed. The existing system was located in the attic with very little room to maneuver. Since it was built in such a cramped space it really required special handling to remove and then install the new system. The work was scheduled well in advance and was performed exactly to the quote. They showed up on time and did a thorough job. The installers were polite, took time to explain how to use the system after it was installed, and cleaned up well after the installation. Very professional in all respects. I am a new customer and scoped out B&J Refrigeration on Angie's List as well as being referred to them by our realtor. We have been pleased with our experience.

The project went very well. The main installer Jeff had a terriffic sense of humor and was encouraging as I was nervous about this project. At one point he asked if he could play our piano then gave us a short concert and even sang. This was a very welcome fun thing in a long day of installing. His helper was very nice, as well , spending a long time in our very hot cramped attic but remained very pleasant the whole time. Shawn the supervisor came by and helped move our bed back against the wall and we had a pleasant visit with him as well. The work was done in a neat orderly manner with no left over messes. I am very fussy on things and was very pleased with this installation and all the guys that worked on it. I will use them again should the need arise.

B&J came out to give us an estimate. They simply measured the perimeter of the house, without measuring windows, getting the low-E window pane information, or determining the state of our attic insulation, all of which was needed for an accurate J-Load calculation. Their estimate was a unit that was 2-tons larger (AC) than their competitors, who actually did the J-Load calc in front of us.

They made sure the furnace was shut down properly and checked the water lines on the cooler and got it started. They made sure that the cooler as not leaking anymore.
