The company was very easy to work with to schedule an appointment. They were running just a few minutes late but took the time to call and let us know. At first they started quoting items that were wrong which really surprised us for a newer unit. As we were calling our builder to ask if these items were still under warranty he came back and apologized that he had an error when evaluating what needed to be done. He apologized many times for the error and completed some maintenance and tune up work for free. We tried to pay him at least for the tune up service call but he would not accept any payment. For a small mistake that was corrected right away we didn't think he needed to do the work for free. However, we appreciated his honesty and hard work to make up for the initial confusion. We will use them again in the future.

Within two weeks, the entire box (on the exterior of the condo) died. I believe it was a motor issue relating to the fan. The whole interior needed replacing, and while there was no charge for the parts (it's under a ten-year warranty), the labor cost about $130 and change. This whole incident was awhile ago, so that cost is an estimate. In my humble opinion, with such a new system, this should not have occurred, and the same guy came out to do the repair as did the aforementioned service. He said that while he had seen such things happen before, it was rare. Go figure.

Our ac went out on Sunday but because we have two units and the kids have moved out we just closed up the back part of the house and the still working unit handled the load. I called them first thing Monday morning and their guy was at our house by 9:30. The office called to update me on the arrival time of the service man and then technician called be to let me when he was on his way. He quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem. He didn't have then parts on his truck but was back in no time to install a couple of capacitors that had blown and our house was cool and back to normal by noon.

Our air conditioner broke down when it was 105 degrees outside. We called B and J and they responded early the next morning. Matthew got the air conditioner running, however it again stopped the next day which was of course Sunday. Matthew returned that day and gave me the bad news that the condenser and fan were both bad and an entire new unit was needed. He then gave me back my check from the previous service call since he hadn't been to the office yet and did not charge for coming on Sunday! Lawrence came to the house the next day with an estimate for a new unit. Of course several options were available, but he just explained each and left it up to me. No hard sell. We were going out of town the next day, but had a house sitter staying with our cat. The work took a couple of days to schedule, but when the installers came out, they were done in about 4 hours. All the work was done when we were gone. I checked out everything when we returned and we are very happy with the outcome.

Nick had the necessary parts with him and quickly repaired out AC. Since the service call fee included one hour of labor he checked several other things and cleaned the unit. B&J far exceeded my expectations in every way. Performing a weekend call and replacing two components for $227.27 - WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A++++ service in every way!

Great. The service person came to the house the same day we called. He was able to walk my husband through the diagnostic service and identify the problem right away with an easy, cheap fix. We were back to a cool house that evening.

They came out and installed the hot water heater on time and finished the job fast. They are professional and great people. Used them before for 2 Central Airconditioners. Will use again.

Nick arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. He was neat and thorough. He also gave me some useful types on keeping my units running efficiently. Although my units are original equipment (~1998), he noted that, with proper care, replacements would not be necessary in the foreseeable future. I appreciate it when someone doesn't try to sell me something I don't need!

The installation went smooth and everything works very well.

I got through by phone without any problem and John got me to the scheduler rapidly. Yvonne got me on the schedule for a maintenance visit without any problem. Nick R. was great. He explained how the system works and he came down from the roof with lots of photos of the various components to familiarize me with this system and so that I would know what he was talking about as he reviewed the technicalities. Nick R. has, obviously been doing this for years and can put things in plain english really well. I don't think any part of this could have gone smoother. It seems to be a well-organized business. We want to thank Angie's List reviewers for making it easy to pick a top-notch group. We will have them back again, for sure.

They did a fine job, exactly what I needed them to do. No fuss, no muss.

Brandon came out and diagnosed the problem. Burned out blower motor. It had seized up and he happened to have a correct replacement in his truck. I paid for that and labor covered under the 74.00 labor for under 2 hours work covered by the Angie deal. He was fantastic and efficient, showed me all the relevant parts and wiring that had caused the smell and failure. I give B&J Refrigeration solid A on all fronts.

They arrived promptly and installed the units quickly and professionally. I like that they took the time to explain the working and maintenance of the units. Their price was very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. Problem: after the units were installed, there didn't seem to be a connection to the thermostat control. B and J stayed, tested the thermostat, trying various things until they solved the mystery, which turned out to be a broken wire in the the crawl space (previous owner). They used a lot of creativity to consider why it wasn't working and then put the time in to made it work. Let me tell you, I consider creeping around in a dark crawlspace as above and beyond their normal call of duty. They solved a mystery almost worthy of Sherlock Holmes.

He diagnosed the problem with our heater ordered the part without consulting with us. When I asked about the price of the part and the repair he was not able to tell me. I had to call next day and find out myself. It turned out they quoted me the price of the part 3 times more then I could buy it myself. It makes me wonder why would they try to make so much money reselling the parts instead of making money on service they should provide (repair). I did not go with the repair. I paid only for diagnostic check.

Great! I called for serviced a little after 3:00 pm. I was told someone would call me at approximately 4:30 pm. My doorbell rang at 4:10 pm. The two gentlemen were very knowledgeable and super efficient. They diagnosed the problem, performed the repair, and checked that the system performed as expected. They provided me with quite a bit of information on how to obtain the best performance from the heating/cooling system. I am beyond pleased with the service provided by B & J Refrigeration! I plan to call them first when it is time to replace the system, or if future repairs are required. I give them an A+ grade across the board.

Recommended replacement as repair (new compressor) would have been close to cost of replacement. This is an honest and friendly guy with great credentials.

My A/C broke in the dead heat of the summer on the Sunday before Labor Day and B&J Refrigeration was one of the only A/C companies that did 24/7 calls. I was desperate, so despite the $125/hour charge I had someone come and take a look. He diagnosed the problem (a broken motor fan), and said that the motor in my unit was particularly expensive (multi-speed), and it would cost somewhere around the range of $1000 for the parts and labor. He actually recommended a new unit as the preferred option, but said that a new motor fan would fix it at least for now. I didn't end up having them do the repair (or replace the unit) because I have another company that has helped me in the past with A/C issues that was able to make it out the next day. They confirmed the issue was the motor fan and that the motor fan I had was in fact more expensive than a typical one (as the other technician had said), but said they could replace it with a cheaper version and redo the wiring so that it would cost me less to repair and work the same (perhaps cost me a few extra bucks in energy bills, but in all likelihood I would barely notice the difference) in total it ended up costing me $725 for the repair, so I saved a couple hundred dollars. They did not think a new unit was necessary. Even though I didn't go with B&J, I will say that they were honest and courteous and followed up with me. While of course a new unit will always solve the problem, it doesn't mean it is the right solution, but that wasn't ultimately why I did not use their services. I just prefer the other company.

The next day, the owner, Shawn and the tech, Brandon, installed the new upgraded themostat which required another component for the system to work properly. They did not charge for the adapter which was required. They explained the system and did an excellent job. I am happy that I bought the complete HVAC system from B&J Refrigeration. They are a company that stands behind their product and honor warranties. Their customer service is outstanding. I highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to purchase a new system or just have their existing unit maintained. Thank you Shawn and Brandon.

Great company to work with. Responsive, fair pricing, knowledgeable and friendly. This is the second time I've worked with B & J refrigeration. Both times, they came through. Very satisfied and will use them again.

Could not have been better. Installation was scheduled for next day after I signed the order. The crew showed up on time, were professional, personable, and competent, and had the entire job complete in about 4 hours. It is working correctly and there have been no call-backs needed. The installation looks very professional and all of the old equipment was hauled away. I picked this company based on a recommendation from a general contractor friend and very favorable on-line reviews. I'm happy I did.

After moving into our new home one of the two AC units failed. The first HVAC technician sent by the home warranty company identified the issue as no freon and stated it would be viewed as a pre existing condition and not covered. Sure enough that was the home warranty company's position. So much for a home warranty. As both units were older the decision was made to replace both with new efficient systems. After estimates from three contractors and extensive internet research I decided to go with B & J. The represenative Mr. Lawrence Blair was very professional and knowledgeable. He accommodated my request to evaluate a completed installation and have a question and answer session with the installers. The installation was scheduled for two days to ensure both systems were installed to my satisfaction. In addition to removing and installing the HVAC systems they went the extra mile removing the hot water heaters and reinforcing each platform installing additional supports, heavy duty plywood and new sheet metal. I am very pleased with the final product and the communications with Mr. Blair. During the county inspection the inspector commented on how well the installation looked. I would highly recommend B & J for anyone requiring HVAC installation or service.
