We found water in the area of our eleven year old water heater and, of course, we thought we had a leak in the heater. We called B&J and they sent someone (Matthew) out within a couple of hours. He was personable, polite, and very efficient. He looked at the wet area and quickly diagnosed the problem as not with the water heater at all but with the condensation unit in the air conditioning unit which was next to the water heater. He found that a drain line was not functioning properly, cleaned it out and blew it out, Everything now works as we hoped it would.

They did a good job. Everything works fine. We received excellent service.

We called early this morning that our main A/C was not functioning and Nick arrived exactly when promised, at noon and even called ahead to say he was on his way. He was here for about 2 hours, diagnosed the problem, had the parts and fixed the AC. He was prompt, professional, courteous, everything was great. We have used B&J before for repairs and for maintenance and they are always prompt, professional, and courteous.

I called B&J after calling four other companies who had no availability for 5+ days. They had a cancellation and were able to squeeze me in. Anthony arrived the same day and diagnosed and fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes! Friendly, quick and knowledgeable!

The crew arrived right on schedule and got to work. Tony was the lead and extremely professional. They did the work as promised and left my home just like was. Wonderful day.

My AC unit was not performing as it should and not putting out cold air. I had the company that had installed it come out and check my AC unit. When they were unable to get my unit working properly, I decided to call another company for a diagnosis. So, I went on Angie's list to find a recommended company. After looking at many reviews, I chose B & J Refrigeration who made an appointment for the following day. Curtis was on time, was very professional and knowledgeable, and came with the tools needed to quickly diagnose the problem. Within 10 minutes of his arrival, he was able to show me on his hand-held device an x-ray of my system and where the blockage was. Curtis gave his recommendation and discussed cost. It was getting close to the weekend and I thought it would have to wait until the next week. I asked when he would be able to schedule the service and to my surprise, he said he could fix it immediately. He went to work and within an hour my AC was producing cold air again! I will use B & J Refrigeration again in the future for all my AC/Heating needs. I am very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them.

Both appointments for job estimate and delivery and installation time & dates were punctual. Attitudes and performance of crew were friendly & professional.

I didn't want to pay per unit for three units. B&J was highly rated on Angie's list and charges by the hour. It took two hours for all three units which cost less than if I only had two units and used someone else. They noticed our newest unit had a safety switch bypassed. The overflow switch also was not hooked up. The service person mentioned that the company that installed it is actually pretty good as well and must have had a new persons install them. He also made some adjustments on another unit. He also showed me how to clean the motor part of this unit. He said if I felt up for a project, I could save money myself doing it or I could always call them back to do it. More than two weeks later, I noticed one of the units wasn't on. I turned it on. It ran for hours. I noticed that the thermostat was not turning it off unless I switched it to off (temp was now down to 72). This is the unit that had wire adjustments. I attempted to swap thermostats, and incorrectly convinced myself the thermostats was good. I talked to the technician on the phone and he said it was the thermostat. I sent him a picture and he said that one was junk (which I already knew). I swapped the thermostats again and noticed that the other one didn't cause issues with this A/C and the bad one did cause the other A/C to come one. While on the phone, he mentioned good options for thermostats. He said either I could install it or call them and have them come out and install it. I mentioned I wanted to have a remote temp sensor for at least one of the thermostats and he mentioned the model I should get.

Service call went very well. Paul arrived on time, was very professional and considerate, explaining very thoroughly the condition and recommendations for longer service life. I really appreciate the kindness and patience he demonstrated throughout the service call.

Nick R. was scheduled to arrive between 7:30 and 9 a.m. At about 8 a.m., he called very apologetic to tell me that he would not be there until about 8:30, which was well within the scheduled arrival time. He first worked on the evaporative cooler and found that the water value at the cooler was leaking; he had the part and quickly replaced it. He assured me that my cooler pads were in very good shape and probaby would not need to be replaced for a couple more years. He tested the cooler to make sure that it came on as it should and that everything was functioning properly. Then he quickly reviewed my air conditioning system, found a couple of things that need to be done for better efficiency and to prevent the coils from frosting up and creating condensation within the unit. He will be sending me a quote for those repairs. Everything else checked out on the air conditioning system, and he gave me a detailed itemized statement of what he had done and what he advised me to have done. I was very pleased with his thoroughness. He was professional but also friendly and I felt like he represented the issues with the system honestly but with no pressure. He completed this work in about 1 1/2 hours, so he did not skimp on examining and evaluating my systems.

Good! We've been used them in the past and this was the third or fourth time they were out here. They are very responsive and quick to get out. Their prices are competitive.

It went well. Everything went fast. They worked fast. They did quality work and they were honest. When they did the checkup, it was determined that the unit had to be replaced. So the cost was significantly more than that because we replaced an entire unit. I would recommend them to other people.

I moved into this townhouse this month and was not familiar with the heating and cooling unit on the roof. I had lived in my home for over 30 years and was familiar with a forced air gas furnace in a closet and evaporative cooler on the roof. Jason explained how this unit works, how it should be taken care of, looked at the filter and advised when to change. Jason was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I will definitely use B & J Refrigeration again and recommend them with I have an opportunity.

I purchased the furnace tune up special online during the weekend and was contacted on Monday by Wendy. I liked the fact that she responded to my email promptly and my emails didn't go into some blackhole where nobody ever gets back to you. I was a little leery at first with doing all this via email, but am satisfied with the email process with B&J. Via email I was able to set up an appointment for the following Friday, late afternoon (2pm to 4pm window). I was also able to provide Wendy with information about my type of furnace and filter. On Friday, the technician, Paul, arrived early, approximately 20 minutes, (which was great!) and he was very professional. He cleaned and inspected the furnace as well as made some adjustments to the pressure valve. He checked for leaks and tested the thermostat. The whole appointment was approximately 40 minutes. I liked the fact that he took the time to explain what he was doing and also answered my questions. Everything checked out ok and I didn't get a hard sell for any upgrades or unnecessary components. I don't have any past experience from other furnace companies to compare the price to, but looking online at some other companies, the price seemed to be average for the work being done. I would use this company again.

I called Monday morning and they had our technician (Nick Coppenbarge) out within 3 hours. When my husband explained the circumstances of how our AC had stopped working and showed him the area where it had frozen up ~ Nick knew immediately what the problem was: went into the attic, connected a wire, and then added some freeon. He was unbelievable and the price was reasonable. We will be calling B & J for all our problems!!

I was very pleased with the service. Nick Coppenbarger was very professional and pleasant to work with. I have used this company before and have always been pleased with their service. I would definitely use this company again and would also recommend them to my friends and family.

The service was prompt and courteous right from the first phone call. The serviceman"Nick" was fantastic! Not knowing the exact reason for the unit not functioning, he worked effortlessly to sort out the problem areas and ordered parts. The unit stopped cooling again before the scheduled repair date, B &J promptly rescheduled to meet the needs of my household and got the work done. If additional work is needed in the future, I will definitely be inviting B&J.

Overall, the experience was uneven. Initial installation was in May 2012. The initial installation plan had to be modified due to estimator's error. This caused a days delay in the install. One of the owners came the next day and adjusted the installation plan. Unit was installed that day but not without incident. One installer made a misstep and cracked the kitchen ceiling, causing and indentation. The ceiling was new and just remodeled a few month prior. Then a hole went through the living room wall when the location for the new thermostat was misjudged while drilling for the wiring. Both these were patched by B&J. Not a great patch job, but functional. After installation was complete I complained about how the gas, electric and drip lines routing were made. All connections were at an angle. Looked very unprofessional. I let the crew leader that I had a problem with this. He shrugged and said that's what he thought was what was needed and left without offering to make any adjustment. I called the office, spoke to the salesperson and B&J came by the next day and fixed the line routing to my satisfaction. Apart from the depression in the kitchen ceiling everything seemed OK. Then came the heavy rains of the 2014 monsoon. While standing in the kitchen during an early July storm - heaviest to date since the unit was installed - I felt drops of water falling on my head. I looked up and saw water drip from the depression in the ceiling made by the mislaid foot during installation. I placed a bucket and captured about a quart and a half of water. This location is directly beneath where the HVAC sits on the roof. Called my roofer the next day (Monday), he inspected and found the top edge (high side closest to roof hip) of the curb the HVAC sits on was just tucked under the shingle and not sealed with anything. He believed that in a very heavy rain that water was backing up in front of the curb and flowing under the shingles. On repair, when the shingles were removed, this was confirmed, as there was a pronounced water and silt line left under the shingles and on the curb flange. My roofer completed the repair and the leak was stopped. What really bothers me more than anything was the lack of response and concern when I called B&J for information. During his initial inspection, my roofer asked some questions about how the HVAC unit attached to the roof curb and how it functioned to drain water away in a storm. I called B&J and asked to talk to someone to get answers. I was told no one was available to answer but they would call back as soon as they returned from a job. They called later that day to say someone would call in the morning. That did not happen. My roofer fixed the next day the roof. It appears he made a correct call in his repair. The leak stopped. B&J never followed through and I decided not to pursue. The problem was solved so why bother. I didn't ask or expect B&J to pay for the roofing work. I just asked for information. I am, overall, disappointed and would be hard pressed to use them for future service. There seems to be some competent people in the organization, but they appear to be more geared to commercial work than that for private homes.

Shawn was the perfect person to work with. He explained everything clearly and did exactly what he said he would. He also kept in contact to make sure I thought all was well. The service was great and so is the product.
