I contacted David from Automation Specialists to provide an estimate to have the house we were buying fully wired with coaxial and network cabling for TV and Internet to each room and a handful of security cameras. He came out and did a site visit and at the time was very friendly, easy to talk to, and informational. After approximately 3-5 days, he provided an estimate as discussed. His estimate was approximately $2k higher than some other estimates I had received, but I was OK with that because the residential structured wiring market is not straight forward. As a week or two passed, my wife and I determined a few things that we'd like to do differently so I sent David an email with our proposed changes to include a diagram. I explained that his company was on the higher end of the estimates that I had gotten and asked if I could purchase all the materials for the project myself and then just have his company provide the labor. After a few days passed, he responded with a very bland, "I am no longer interested in your project". I found this to be very rude and not the way to conduct business, especially in today's economy and uncertainty. I know that I will never recommend his company to any of my friends or colleagues, and its a shame because they may do a very good job.
