American Leak Detection - Tucson

American Leak Detection dropped the ball on determining the source of leaks in my pool. They only reported an obvious leak in my water feature but failed to report all the cracks in my pool on the house I just purchased. I do not reside in Tucson year round and sent them when my former tenants were there. Luke did not do a thorough job in his report. Then fast forward 1 year later and my pool is obviously leaking again. I am charged another $800 to check the pool and this time he reports 6 cracks. When I inquire why this wasn't reported previously he says they are all new. This is complete BS as even my pool maintenance company advised that at least one of them has been there for over a year. Luke blatantly did a fast job on my property knowing that I lived out of town. For the second trip I asked my pool tech to be there to ensure a thorough job was done this time around. Unfortunately there aren't many companies to choose from. If you choose this one be ready to supervise the work to ensure all lines are pressurized and checked as well as having them thoroughly inspect the inside of the pool. Otherwise they may just report the most obvious leak and ignore the rest. BTW I found Seth quite verbose in his defense and ‘mansplained’ to me how I obviously couldn’t know anything about pools. I’m sure he will add a lengthy response. Bottom line - supervise this company’s work if you hire them!

Had a continuous leaking sound in the drain of my laundry sink. Called American leak detection and Seth thought it might be coming my water softener and he was right! He showed me how to by pass the water softener until the softener company can come to repair it! He’s a great guy!

Fantastic service from the receptionist to the technician. I called them to investigate what I thought was a leak outside coming from either a wall or underground next to the wall. Long story short, the technician called me and was able to walk me through checking the water meter and some other things on the phone and it turns out no leak (water coming from condensation pipe thing like its supposed to). The technician saved me a ton of money and could not have been friendlier. SUPER customer service.

They arrived when promised and based on their initial findings told us that the more extensive and expensive leak detection wasn't warranted. They found the leaks (irrigation system) in a short time and departed. Very professional and cost was reasonable.

Seth called and let me know that he could squeeze me in a day early. Within 30 minutes, Seth from American Leak Detection was at my door and going to work. He managed to find the leak, verified the leak, and then checked for other leaks for good measure. Very professional, and personable. I would highly recommend them, and will call them back for any future issues that come up.

Gave me a quote and suggestions on how I can determine if I had a leak. After following there suggestion determined my leak was in my waterfall.

We asked American Leak Detection to come to our home find the leak(s), but because of their backlog they couldn't respond until a couple of days later, which was not a problem for us. They came on time, and were very thorough in attempting to locate the leak. They marked a location that was believed to be the source of the leak. Cost=$360. Unfortunately, that was not where the leak was later found, which was about 15 feet away. There were multiple factors that caused the missed location of the leak, and they mentioned that they seldom missed a marked location by more than a foot. They refunded the entire $360 cost of their service. Unfortunately, the cost of trying to repair the mis-located leak, which required taking a jack hammer to break through the foundation, was significantly more than $360. When it was obvious that there was no leak at the marked location, I called them while they were on another job, and they returned to our home about an hour later after they completed that job, to re-evaluate the leak location. The newly-found location was correct, and the leak was quickly repaired by plumbers a couple of days later. Unfortunately, there was at least one more leak at our house that was not as severe as the first one that was found. Apparently, this is not uncommon, and they returned later to locate the new leak as part of the original charge which had been refunded back to us. This new leak was found under the foundation, and beneath the tile, dishwasher and counter in the kitchen area - a location which did not lend itself to an easy repair. Shortly thereafter, we re-piped the entire house to replace the polybutylene. It was unfortunate that the first leak was not located correctly, but I commend American Leak Detection for their responsiveness, professionalism and service despite that occurrence. I gave them a "B" overall rating because of that mistake, but would not hesitate to use them again, and I will continue to recommend their service to others.

They showed up on time and quickly found that there was a icemaker waterline leak from the refrigerator causing water to seep through the wall. They turned off the valve and I paid them for the service call. I arranged for a refrigerator repair from the appliance store.

Seth and Luke checked my 94 year old mother-in-law's home for water leaks. They were very knowledgeable and willing to educate me. They explained how to use the water meter to check for a water leak in the house. Then they went through the house with an infrared thermometer to check for standing water under the carpet and tile on the floor. They were kind and reassuring to my mother-in-law who was afraid her floor would collapse and she would fall into the hole. They not only took care of the job but they also took care of their customer.

No leaks were found, which is the result we were hoping for after repairs had been made. Kinda expensive for what they had to do, but we agreed to the price in advance, so I'm not complaining. I would use them again.

After it was detected and located the service was concluded, I was then able to repair the pipe and connection myself.

Video inspection of my sewer line and marked off the location and depth of the line on its way (a few turns) back to the sewer main. I had been have a sewer backup several times in the last few days, despite the line being snaked multiple times. I was expecting that I would have to replace the sewer line back to the main. This verified that there was no conspicuous blockage or collapsed pipe back to the main. There was a little bit of rough spots, and the descent of the line was a little flatter than it probably should be, but otherwise it was in pretty good shape, so they suggested the replacing the line would help, and I should have it hydro-jetted to clear out some stuff in the line. This is why I hired them, to determine clearly whether the line had collapsed or failed before I hired someone to put in a new line. This wasn't exactly and quot;cheapand quot;, but hyrdo-jetting is a lot cheaper than it would have been to blindly choose to replace the whole sewer line. Gave me confidence not to bother replacing the line. Mark Tanner was a courteous, showed up a little early (calling ahead to make sure that was OK), patient, and informative, answering my many questions as we watched the video snake go down the line.

A home inspection prior to selling our house resulted in the inspector noting a "possible" leak in the swimming pool. American Leak Detection was extremely helpful over the phone and told me how to check for a leak myself. At my request they then came the next day to perform the test themselves to confirm and provide an independent assessment that there was no leak. They were very courteous and did only what was needed to prove there wasn't a leak. Their price was comparable with others who offer a similar service. I would definitely use them again.

Scheduling was easy. He showed up on time and did a thorough inspection of house. Ultimately, he found a leak in the main water line and confirmed it with helium. The leak was found by the plumber at the location he marked.

I called on Monday, and on Tuesday afternoon Mark Tanner promptly arrived. He was very professional and proficient. He used sophisticated equipment and his expertise, and found the leak! Not having any experience such as this before, I asked him questions throughout the entire process, and he answered them to my complete satisfaction. I asked him for the names of some area plumbers he would recommend, and he provided them. We feel very comfortable with the names he provided, because he himself was so professional and knowledgeable. From my initial call to the office (handled politely and helpfully) to the visit, including the relief at finding out the source of the water leak, it was an example of what good service should be!
