John was professional and did a fabulous job, I love my new door. Scheduling was a bit difficult and cost was higher than expected. But the excellent job made up for all of it.

Chris was great. Prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, willing to do whatever it took to satisfy.

I would not recommend him for any service. I have used Angies List for many services and have always had great response asnd service from all those providers but NOT this one. They do not check to see what needs to be done so they do not schedule properly. They just expect the customer to wait untll they show regardless of time the customer waits. We will use someone else but am very frustrated we waited all day and no one showed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I have used them twice and they were excellent. Their price was reasonable.

Herb the owner (?) of American Handyman was personable and business like on the phone, however his employee wasn't all that good. His painting skill were excellent but he was so slow. When it cam to installing the molding he failed. There are places where the molding has came off the wall, big gaps between the quarter round and flat molding. When I contacted Herb by e-mail (my phone went out during the recent storms and I didn't know it) he had the employee contact me to see why I was unhappy. Ironically this was his last day with the company. He claimed he did a great job painting and even did touch up for me. My complaint about the molding he answered me by saying the wall was crooked and he told me. Yes he did but when anyone else puts down molding and there are gaps you use calking to fill in the gaps then feather in paint. The employees' response was I didn't tell him that I wanted him to calk and repaint the molding. I feel like I paid way too much for half the work.

Work was excellent quality and their staff did an excellent job on the fascia removal and replacement. They were punctual and completed the work promptly and took care to clean up all debris. afterwords. I will be using them in the future for my handyman needs.

Fixed door bell, took care of automatic lighting outside, batteries for fire alarm and several other lighting issues.

The service was satisfactory. They did a good job. He was on time. He was very quick. I think he had to run out and get a part but definitely it was satisfactory.

Went very well. Service person had to go to as supply house to get additional parts that were not included with the new sink for the drain. Was back in no time and the install went flawlessly. He was very professional and very neat; cleaned up completely after job. Install looks and works great. Price for service was very reasonable.

Overall, the jobs were completed. However, the gentleman who came to the house was much older than I had anticipated and these jobs ended up taking him several hours to complete. This was of concern because this particular copy charged by the hour, not a set price for a job. It seemed like with all the breaks and the running to the hardware store, there could have been additional time added to this job that perhaps I didn't need to pay for.

It was a professional call and they are quick to respond.

Service provider is a bit quirky, but knows appliances. I had him fix two dryers. One had stopped working at all and the other made very loud squeaking noises. He pointed out poor repair work that had been done by the previous owner and got everything running smoothly again. I was very happy with the work and would hire him again.

Nathan was on time, listened to what we needed done, was extreemly friendly, helpful and pleasant .( my wife said he should be on HGTV!). All work was completed and cleaned up leaving Nathan to go home and play with his 6 year old daughter. Would use again in a flash.

When my house was tiled they cut the tile around the old toilet and grouted up to the edge. This meant that when I wanted to replace the toilet the footprint of the new toilet was not lining up with the old. This would cause the new toilet to be uneven and could even cause the toilet to crack over time because of the uneven pressure points. Fixing the tile under was the best option. Robert arrived on time about 10:30 am looked over what needed to be done looked at the toilet that needed to be installed, I purchased on my own. Reviewed what would happen as the tile needed to set before the new toilet could be installed, so there was a gap in time. We discussed several other details of what might need to happen and he went right to work. He pulled the old toilet (finding one of the bolts broke off when he started loosing, but was able to keep the spilled water to a minimum. Then removed the remaining pieces of tile, cut the one tile around the sewer hole and set the 2 tiles down. Put a fan on to help dry faster and said he would be back in several hours. Leaving at about 12:30. He was late coming back, I was wondering where he was around 4:30 so called Herb who indicated he was still at the job he went to between the wait time for the tile to set. He finally arrived to finish the job around 6pm bringing along grout to match my existing tile. Finished installing the new toilet and tested to make sure it was working correctly. Only bad thing is the billing. Much more expensive than it really should have been. If I include travel time some shopping time and all the time he was at my location it was maybe 4 hours. I was quoted a flat amount of $400 plus materials. This translated into close to $100/hour. Which is very high for any handyman. I had researched and found that toilet replacement normally is about 200-250 for labor for a plumber and parts not including the toilet. I was told by 2 companies the tile work would take about 4 hours, didn't sounds right to me, who am I to say if that is right, figured 200 for 4 hours of work might be about right. I should have stuck with my gut reaction and question how it would take 4 hours to pull a toilet and lay 2 pieces of tile. I'll take some blame for not questioning more, but they clearly over charged me for the work. I would hire them again, but I think I would request a hourly rate instead.

Provided good advice on color matching - coordinated activities so that there was minimal 'down time' - and the results were as expected - great. Unable to identify there was previous damage after the work was complete - color matched good

I was concerned that we where going to have to tear out the good tile to get to the pipes. The other option was to go through the exterior wall...which I was even more concerned about (to match the smooth texture so it didn't look like a patch job). The guy suggested that it would be a lot less damage and easier to repair to go through the stucco. He was right. He had the hole cut, copper pipe repaired and fixed the stucco ( smooth texture) repaired in just a few hours. A lot less hassle than repairing the tile. He went over the stucco a few times to get it to match. Now all I need to do is paint the wall when it is all dry. Definitely will call them again on future issues.

It went great. He was the only provided that actually answered his phone and was able to come out (no one else called me back). He was on time and very friendly and knowledgeable. He got the job done quickly and with very good quality work. He even was very good at instructing my husband and I how to use the lock on a very old door that was very tricky to use. It took me serval tries and he was very patient and kept going over it with me until I got it.

My disposal clogged on potato peelings. I watched a video on YouTube and did everything suggested. My brother-in-law tried to unclog it, but was not successful. He suggested I call a handyman instead of a plumber. It would probably be cheaper. I contacted American Handyman and they were to come out Friday afternoon. Late in the afternoon, the serviceman called and said he would not be able to make it until Saturday morning. I appreciated his calling me so I didn't have to wait anymore. When he arrived, he identified the problem and explained to me what he had to do. He had the pipes under the sink taken apart, cleaned out, and put back together in no time. The disposal worked beautifully. The service call was very reasonable. The serviceman was polite and professional.

Robert was a nice man who worked at a steady pace. We did have to go to home depot to pick up needed supplies. But then Robert went right back to work to complete as many jobs as possible before I had to go to a doctor appointment. He was respectful and professional. I was a little surprised when a "trip charge" of $33.00 was added to the bill, but Robert doesn't make the rules, he just follows them. Overall I am happy with the jobs done and would have him back again.

They were great that they're on time, they don't charge so much and they have varieties of things.

He was punctual. He got up on the ladder and turn the tube lights so they went on without the blinking. Said he would have to charge 1 hr. labor charge of $49.00. I did not have a problem with this. He was here about 15 minutes or less.

We were really pleased with the work done. The "handyman" they sent, Nathan, was very professional, friendly and did an excellent job. He explained what he was doing and why. Because the wall patching would have to dry we would do the finish work- sanding and painting. Nathan explained how to do it to get the best and most professional results. We won't hesitate to use this service again.

The freezer section on the refrigerator quit working. We called and were repairs were done the same day. Haven't had a problem since. We will be repeat customers of American Handyman.

Company wasn't willing to come out and give an initial estimate, but gave estimate as work started. Estimate was reasonable and the guy who did the work did an excellent job-can't even tell the wall has been repaired. Friendly and punctual. Explained in detail all of the final charges.

Overall I am very satisfied with the service provided. Nathan was extremely professional and did all that was asked. He did have to cut a hole in my ceiling that did not end up as "neat" as I would like, but it serves a purpose for future access. That was fine. My main reason for marking them "Fair" in quality is that in the process of plugging in his tools, he unplugged our refrigerator in the garage. It never occurred to me to see if my refrigerator had been unplugged, and didn't notice it until about 30 hours later. Not a lot of food loss (ice cream melted and several frozen items thawed that we will be forced to eat or cook over the next few days); however, if I used the fridge for anything other than beverages, that stuff would have been quite ruined. And had I been brewing beer in that fridge and it went through that drastic a temperature change, I would have a LOT more to say... Really hope you guys take this as constructive criticism; I don't intend to bash...just want attention to detail. Other than this rather minor (could have been worse) oversight, I was very pleased and Nathan even gave me some advice and an estimate on another repair that we have been looking at. I am impressed and will likely call them again.
