+ 0 moreIt went extremely well and they explained every detail and all options very clearly. Communicating with them was quite easy and they were impressively responsive. Quality work and contractors - price range within dollars of two other bids. Price went up when we realized I needed to pour new concrete - which, for many reasons ended up being a bonus but it did drive up the price considerably. They offered other options to the new concrete as well.
Description of Work: I had this company convert my carport into a two car garage.

+ 14 moreWe have remodeled our last 4 houses, so this wasn't our first rodeo; this project by Amenity/Jason was the absolute BEST experience and quality EVER. I met with 9 different contractors before hiring Jason and I would recommend Jason and his subs whole-heartedly in every aspect of his work. Simply put, we got top quality at a fair price and no hassles!! Jason even skillfully negotiated all the varying requirements of the VA and our homeowners insurance. I don't think it gets better than that. NOTE: about half the contractors interviewed had a history of going over budget, then bartering for cars, motorcycles or what-not to settle their debt, so be careful and ask the tough questions before you choose a contractor. I could write a book of accolades concerning Jason and his crews
Description of Work: originally contracted for a VA Specially-Adaptive Housing grant ($70,000) Before it even got started we had a house fire which required rebuilding the entire interior, and roof ($250,000)

He came back with an estimate soon after our initial meeting. He and his crew were on time and came through with an amazing result. If needed, we would look forward to Amenity doing our next project.

He is always, always punctual or early and if he can't get there, he will call or text Rarely did that happen. Trustworthy and conscientious. Takes pride in his work and ensures we are happy too. If he subcontracts, he is here when they are and has very good follow up. He is a breath of fresh air when it comes to hiring contractors. To find someone so reliable is rare today. We would highly recommend Jason.

We were converting a large window into French doors so they had to saw through some bricks and cement blocks; they did a very good job of blocking the area off with plastic sheeting to keep dust out of the rest of the house. Once they were done, they completely cleaned up the mess. I would highly recommend them for this sort of job and will use them again in the future.

+ 2 moreI have used Amenity Construction multiple times previously. We needed some work done in preparation for painting and flooring installation. Jason walked through the job and gave us some ideas. We had originally intended to replace the knocked down wall, but it turned out to be just a false wall and the room looked much better without it. Jason and his crew arrive when they say they will. They work diligently throughout the day and communicate well whenever they come across something unanticipated. We have some more work coming up soon and I expect Jason and Amenity Construction will be our first call.
Description of Work: Knocked down a wall. Removed paneling and prepped wall. Removed two sets of louvered doors and frames and prepped opening. Removed carpeting and padding. Installed 4 ceiling lights.

+ 5 moreReally well. Crew put down floor protection from bathrooms to front door daily and removed at end of shift. Cleaned the work area daily. Covered near by furniture with plastic daily. Jason and his crew ( Mike and Tony ) as well as the tile crew ( Oscar and Enricay ) were courteous and professional. Jason always kept us up to date every day on events coming up. Work took 3 weeks to complete. One week of which was for the measuring, fabricating and installing the above tiled pony wall glass panel.
Description of Work: Remodeled 2 bathrooms. Master bath - demo walls, shower stall and bath tub. Adder framing and wall blocking. New WR drywall; redid plumbing; tiled and grouted new shower benches, walls, floor and curb; installed plumbing fixtures and shower sprays. Installed handicapped grab bars. Guest bath -demo walls, bath wall panels and bath tub. New WR drywall; redid plumbing; tiled and grouted walls; installed plumbing fixtures.

I particularly liked the fact that he used a permanent team, instead of hiring temporary contractors. They were very polite and professional. Their attention to detail and commitment to follow through with even the smallest aspect of the job was commendable. Felt comfortable working with them, and would not hesitate to do so again.

Jason and his crew were fast, efficient, knowledgeable (each person clearly knew what they were doing and did not need a lot of supervision, they just did their work). Super clean also. Good price: This accident was covered by insurance so we needed to get multiple bids: Amenity's bid came at the same point as 2 or 3 others, plus another 2 bids quite a bit higher. The work was done at my Mom's house, she's elderly and was shook up about the whole thing but Jason was so calm and competent -- she had complete faith in him and was super impressed by the courtesy of the whole crew. I recommend this company without reservation.
Description of Work: Repaired a damaged bay window (pickup truck had accidentally backed into it): including window replacement (3 windows, front and two side), stud replacement, drywall and paint work inside, stucco work and paint outside

+ 3 more1 year later & no problems since! They were prompt, professional, and did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. They gave us several options for the repair and provided honest recommendations (did not necessarily recommend the most expensive options).
Description of Work: Had a problem with a leaking shower upstairs, and the leak was leaking into a downstairs play room. 3 plumbing companies had previously looked at the problem and each time after they 'fixed it,' the leak would return within a few weeks time. Amenity Construction removed old travertine floor through midway up the walls of upstairs shower, and disassembled shower / shower door in upstairs bathroom to completely re-do the shower base (pan, seal, retiled) and some plumbing. They found several problems with the previous plumbing & construction and took the time to explain each to me. They re-tiled (with travertine), replaced shower door, and repaired the ceiling underneath (where large openings had been made to determine the source of water leak). They refinished the ceiling, including the texturizing & paint. Cleaned up entirely and left everything in working order.

+ 0 moreJason Miller is a soft spoken young man whom you'll see from beginning to end. Upon initial visit we discussed what the project would entail and he listened to what I wanted to accomplish. No long winded explanation of what he can and can't do, what various hardships we'll run into with accompanied war stories. His was our third estimate. The first was a overbearing oaf whom we never heard from again. The second spoke like they were rebuilding the Parthenon with an estimate to match. Jason was a welcome relief. He came back with an estimate within a week. He and his polite thorough crew arrived on time and followed through. No screwing around and they seem to work well together. This was my first time hiring a construction company and I look forward to Amenity Constr. doing my next project.

They were really good. They were very good. I can't say enough good things about them. Maybe they are a little expensive. I didn't think they were, but we did recommend them to a neighbor and they ended up using someone else for their back-splash.
