Duct work cleaned,ok. Service 1/2 cleaned, was told that some duct was loose. They said they didn't have the right equipment or correct parts. When asked about the service we would have to pay extra for the rest of the service. We've had our A/C serviced twice a year for over twenty-five years, completely, never having to pay extra.

Quickly assessed the problem and fixed. Not much was needed, as they installed the units and I have had them maintained regularly.

The technician they send is a extremely nice guy, but he's kind of spacey. He does the work and gets it done. He sometimes gives me advise. Its all fine.

We get them out here before Winter and before Summer. We purchased a contract with them years ago so it's been an ongoing relationship. One guy comes and it takes him about an hour. They go through my systems and do whatever maintenance or cleaning that is needed and add free-on in Summer and make sure everything operates at peak efficiency.

Aweful. This was few years ago, but had to have Sears come out and I knew the guy, dtayed outside with him and he showed me a small cooper line that had a deliberate crimp in it. Sure it was Ambient Air as they had been the only ones to ever work on it. Will never have them again, it caused a hole in the line and they tried to sell us a new unit. All Sears did wss replace that line and recharge the unit and we were good.

Horrible they cheated us. Techs were on commission then when I called the office was told they were taking them of commission. No apology or offer of correction. NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.

I have had service with Ambient Air Heating & Cooling since 2000. They have replaced two air conditioning units and one water heater for me. I have utilized their yearly agreement for maintenance. I have always had excellent service and fast response. During the sell of my home, there were a couple of concerns on the water, furnace and condenser. Minor items. But I called Ambient and they came out even though I had a short time frame. They looked at the inspection concerns, explained to me the concerns, and then fixed everything. Since I have been a good customer, I had the yearly agreement, it was the water heater and furnace/AC that they installed, all work was covered and expertly done. Thank you Ambient Air. I will miss your help and twice a year visits.

Troy came out to give us an estimate and was very good at explaining the different options. The day of the installation they actually called and asked if they could come early!!!! Something I never see in the service industry and appreciated their efficient and quick installation. We have had occasions already to use both heating and air conditioning. Both work well and fast.

Great. Cleaned filter. Washed down Compressor. Checked all vitals. Checked temperature coming into house.

We spent 8,000 dollars for a new heating and AC unit, was less than 1 year old, and we were under a warrantee/service contract. On a Thursday morning the AC system had stopped working, we made a service call and needed someone to come right away because we have a family member with a medical condition and could not wait. The best the manger could offer was 2 hours before someone could come over, this was after calling 3 more times. Only after I contacted another service company and called back to cancel stating another service company can arrive within 15 min. The owner called and stated he could have someone over in 20 minutes. We stated we were through with them, and he got a "what ever" attitude, then got defensive on the phone, and never apologized. The company is not reliable or friendly, there customer service with their own customers is atrocious. NEVER USE THEM

They are always really great. I have used them for 7 or 8 years. They are knowledgeable, nice people.

They made a proposal on Monday which was accepted. The following day they installed the new system. The thermostat was bad and they came back later to replace the thermostat and correct a minor installation problem that was creating noise. In the process of the installation they damaged a wall and ceiling area where a pull-down ladder was removed to get equipment into the attic. They were good about making an allowance for a painter to come in to repair and paint the damaged area. Overall the job was to my satisfaction.

They have been very helpful. We paid them a long time ago because if it is done for this length of time we save money. The challenge comes in when we have to pay them upfront. We like their consistent care of our very expensive products which are heating and air conditioning in Southern Arizona. We have been having some very warm weather so it is very helpful that our equipment is going to be taken care of by someone that is going to be quite knowledgeable. We use them regularly and tell others about them as well. We have been fairly satisfied with them. We took care of them when they were not perfect in their service when they were delayed for one of their appointments; this is very common in a business. They have been very effective so we have not had to replace the equipment that came with our house. We have put on a couple of additions to make things work better so they gave us good information so that we could extend the life of both our air conditioning units. Their quality of work is quite good.

The technician serviced the units and then explained to me that the larger of the two units would need to be replace soon. The capacitor was drawing too many amps and that was telling him that if the system was strained during hot weather that the compressor would fail. They could either replace the compressor ($3-4,000.00) or just replace the entire unit with a new more efficient one. ($12,000.-14000.00) I had the system checked by another company and they found that two capacitors had been replaced within the past year and they were the wrong size for that unit. (The capacitors had been changed the year before by Ambient Air) He replaced the capacitors and all of a sudden the unit was NOT producing to many amps when the compressor came on. Since that time the units have worked perfectly and we have had no problems. I have used Ambient Air for at least the past 12 years and had always gone with their suggested repairs. We have our AC and furnaces checked every year in the Spring and in the Fall as a preventative measure, since we only live in Tucson for 6 months each year. Now I must say that I can't be sure that any of the repairs that they completed over the years were necessary. I must say for the past 2-3 years I began to question myself as to this problem, because almost every time they came out they discovered some additional work that needed to be done. (In addition to the work covered by out service contract. Very disappointed and sad to feel somewhat taken advantage of. I feel that my trust was truly violated.

The technician came in and inspected the units and showed me how to keep the wasps out of the unit.

My husband and I used Ambient Air to service our two Rheem air conditioning and heating systems upon the recommendation of our builder. Our house was built in 2005 and although we didn’t expect that there would be too much maintenance required, we wanted someone to look at the systems a couple times a year and make sure everything was OK. We signed a 3 year contract with Ambient in September of 2010. In their initial evaluation they suggested that we put higher density filters in the air return ducts to cut down on dust and allergens. We live in Arizona where dust is an issue. So we agreed to this “improvement”. When they came to install the filters they found they had to enlarge the air ducts and then had to put in new grates so the filters would fit. They had to return at least 4 times in order to 1) secure the grates as they kept opening up and falling and scaring the heck out of us at all hours; then 2) to continually reduce the density of the filters because the ones they would put in caused the furnace/AC to go off and on continually because the air flow was sharply decreased. We finally ended up with the thinnest filters that we could buy from Walmart. After this we did have a couple of check-ups that didn’t require much service...but then in March of this year they made their spring check-up and told us that we needed new capacitors. The multimeter used to test the capacitors showed low voltage and the service man said they needed replacement. My husband reluctantly agreed, but asked to have the defective parts. Initially the Ambient service man didn’t want to give them to us. He told us that the company has to make sure that defective capacitors are destroyed in an environmentally sound way and therefore does not give them to the homeowner. We insisted and finally he left them with us. That afternoon we took those capacitors to the plumber who installed everything when we built the house. He tested them and said they were fine. We then stopped payment on the check and cancelled our contract. We did hear from Ambient the next day and they claimed to be “shocked” by their serviceman’s diagnosis and claimed to have laid him off temporarily. Unfortunately we later learned that some of the folks that work for Ambient are paid on commission. We noticed that the guys who had to repair something would always offer to do it at no charge if we would agree to signing a new 3 year extension on our contract. Finally, we have hired another company to check our systems and the first time they were here they noticed that the some of the valves on the compressor lines were loosened. I am not sure if I am explaining these parts correctly, but the bottom line was that the AC would begin to leak Freon if these were not tight. He told us that they can only be loosened by using a wrench. I can’t say for sure that Ambient purposely loosened them...but it is clear that they did nothing to remedy the situation in the 2 years we had them checking our system. We also needed to do some additional repair on the system that was caused when the systems were continually going on and off due to the heavy-duty filters installed by Ambient in the air return ducts. We removed the filters that Ambient installed and had to purchase replacements for the original filters in the units. I would NEVER recommend these folks to anyone and in fact I would suggest that you avoid them at all costs. Although it is true, they are courteous and friendly, you will pay dearly for that!!!

This company is prompt and professional. Their prices are reasonable and their payment plans are flexible.

I have been with Ambient Air Heating & Cooling for the past 8 years. I would be happy to recommend them! I will give them an "A" on absolutely everything.

They have been out twice, once in the summer and once in the fall. I got a heating bill that was way out of line, so I figured something had to be wrong with my heater. I called Ambient and they sent out a young man to see what the problem was. It turns out that in the previous inspection, they had neglected to check on the damper connected to the swamp cooler. It was supposed to be closed, but had frozen in an open position. This caused my system to heat the roof and outside air, which was why my bill was so high. This company charged me $254 for the visit, even though it was for something they should have already caught in one of the other inspections. I was unable to get in touch with the owners, and they just kept telling me I owed them the money. I'm not pleased with them. The idea is that if they are coming out four times a year, they should catch any problems, yet they charged me for another visit on top of what I've already paid them in advance.

They were real good. They sold us a service contract which looks like it is going to be pretty good. It will cover them coming to check the air conditioner in the summer and some other things. They did a real good job. They did the work real quickly. They came out right away. We found out that our neighbor uses them and she has used them for a long time. My husband was happy with them and so far everything is working well. The price was reasonable. They were very responsive.

The workman who came to change the heating to swamp, was kind and professional. He seemed to care about the performance and quality of his work. The cooler seemed to cool better than in past seasons. About July, the gardener let me know there was water leaking from the roof. I had decided to take down the swamp cooler to replace it with A. C. so I didn't worry about having it adjusted. The duct cleaning, however, was disappointing. I paid an extra $25 to have the exhaust vent in the the kitchen to the roof cleaned. The worKman who came for that, sprayed a chemical in the vent to kill germs, bacteria, etc. He said it is not possible to clean the vent itself. He sprayed chemical through the ventilation system. The process did not seem to take that long. When installing the A. C. and registers by another company, I asked them if the ducts were clean. He put his hand in the vent and pulled out a handful of dirt and dust. They explained their process to clean the duct work, which appears to be more meticulous and detailed, also using a brush to clean the duct work, which will take a minimum of four hours. This is my reason for the overall score for this company, in addition to the overflow from the swamp eventually leaking down the roof. The staff, including the receptionist and workmen, were kind and courteous. This is why they do not receive a D or F.

Tech called early to state he was running behind schedule and gave an estimate when he thought he would make it to my house. He asked if that would be workable. He called again later to inform me he was on his way and gave his ETA. He was within 5 minutes of that time. He completed the A/C check and coil cleaning. He asked if he could enter my home. He asked if he could enter various rooms before doing so to check vent temps. He apologized for being behind schedule and thanked me for understanding.

I would not recommend them to other members. They were more interested in up-selling stuff to me.

I had a young man come out and inspect the installation of my unit, which was done incorrectly. He also let me know how much it would cost to have the filters inside the home, instead of having to climb up on the roof to change them. He was knowledgable.They're going to be coming out every six months to check on my unit. The price includes the initial visit plus the other couple visits that they will do in the upcoming months. I haven't had any real work done yet by this company, but so far so good.
