Great service! Call was returned very promptly, technician came on the dot at the beginning of the indicated 2-hour window and was courteous and informative. Confirmed our positive impressions of this company from when we originally had them install our garage door last year. The price was right too!

Our home warranty service engaged this contractor. They were great. The first visit diagnosed the fault, a broken torsion spring. Mitchell opened the door to free our car, and took a photo of the serial number plate on the spring, and told me they would order the correct part from the manufacturer. They did, and Mitchell returned in a few days with the part. He installed it quickly with no false moves. I understand I have a three year warranty on the work. Everything went very smoothly.

It was horrible from day one. The installation was subpar. Door gasket was buckled. I complained and the owner replaced it himself but gasket still does not lay flush to the door so essentially it is pretty useless, allowinf insects and elements to go through. Two days after door was installed, it malfunctioned. Since it was the weekend, had a friend look at the door who said the company needed to fix it. Called the company and was told because my friend "worked" on it, that the warranty was voided. Tried to explain that he did not work on it. We just looked at the owner's manual and the door. The serviceperson came to do adjustments and tried to sneakily get me to sign the work order that says that this was a courtesy service and that I would have to pay for any future problems because of my voided warranty. Well the door continued to malfunction (cable jumping out of the spool, door stuck open cockeyed, door opening halfway then closing, etc....) constantly. I had family issues at the time and was flying back and forth to Michigan, and everytime I came back home, I had to deal with a malfunctioning door. The company was really nasty and gave me a hard time on the phone even accused me of sabotaging the door for attention! I went to Costco to complain because it was through Costco, I hired Always Open and Shut Garage Door. Costco said that it was not their responsibility but did help me contact the LiftMaster rep. I also threatened to call the ROC and to put up a sign in front of my house when my door was stuck crooked to alert other people of the company's shoddy workmanship. Then they would grudgingly show up, taking their time and coming with a nasty, hostile attitude, and "temprarily fix" the problem like putting the cable back into the spool, but a short time later, the door malfunctioned again. After much headache and heartache, I finally called Garage Door Repair of Tucson (520-548-9868) which was recommended by a friend. I knew by hiring another company, my "warranty" with Always Open and Shut would be voided. After Garage Door Repair adjusted the springs and changed out the "cheap" rollers, I have had no further problems with my garage door, and it has several years now. I "saved" $300 by going through Costco, and hiring Always Open and Shut but ended up a lot poorer, financially and emotionally. As I have said, the door gasket has never been flushed with the door but with the door itself malfunctioning, it was consided to be a minor problem at the time. I contacted the Always Open and Shut garage door service and told them my garage door leaked. I would like to get it fixed. I asked that someone come to my house to give me an estimate. I was told there would be a service charge if they came to my house to give an estimate. How do they know exactly what needs to be done? In Angie's List they stated that they give free estimates. This is misleading and not fair to the customer to then be told that there is a charge for an estimate. How do they know exactly what is going on with my garage door and if something else is causing it to leak? Some people are on fixed incomes and need to know costs before work is to be done.

My experience was fine. Whatever the price was, it was very reasonable.

Since there wasn't an available serviceman in the area, the owner himself arrived shortly after my call and had to physically lift the door so I could get my car out of the garage. A serviceman came 2 days later to take care of the problem. He arrived on time, and was very courteous and professional. Before he left, the installer was careful to make sure I understood exactly how everything worked. It was a very good experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of garage door service.

Everything went very well. They were able to schedule the service the next day, and it only took about an hour to complete. The price seems very reasonable as well.

Just after 2pm, my garage door cable broke and it was stuck in the up position. I called Always Open and Shut Garage Door Service immediately (we had used them in the past for maintenance of the garage door so had their number handy). Once I described the situation, they said they could have a tech over early the next morning but when I expressed concern of the garage door being open all night, they immediately said they would be out tonight. By 6pm I had a functioning garage door again. Prompt, professional, caring service and I would absolutely use this service provider again for annual service and any repair work on the garage door.

The technician worked quickly, and then charged me less than the amount he had originally quoted--just the service fee. I was expecting to replace the garage door, and he fixed everything with a bracket (and a warning that the garage door would have to eventually be replaced in the future). I'm very pleased.

I had requested service because the door had been creaking and groaning as it went up and down, since we had purchased the home 6 months earlier and I wanted to see if servicing might help before something actually broke. Ruben, the tech, arrived on-time and discussed my questions as he worked. He showed me the weaknesses developing in the door due to insufficient support in the middle of the long panels. He installed an additional full-width support brace, making sure that I understood that it should be considered a temporary fix. As he inspected and found things needing attention, he just did whatever was needed. He discussed other things that could be done in the future such as having a second spring installed and another brace across the full width, and replacement rollers. He was very realistic about the lifespan of the current door. Finding and reattaching the bracket on one end of the spring rod made a huge difference. He worked steadily and by the time he was done the door was operating much, much better. It's great to know that I can get this level of expert knowledge and service. Thanks to the Angie's List reviewers who helped us cut to the chase on this one. It couldn't have gone better.

The two gentlemen from Open & Shut arrived on time and completed the job in about two hours. They were extremely personable and professional. Great guys and I appreciated the high quality of work and professionalism. I consider myself fairly handy and they completed the job that would have probably taken me at least one full per door, if not more. They provided the run-through on the remote operators, the safe devices of the door closers/openers and provided advice on emergency use of the doors. They were very helpful and went the extra mile in providing me the necessary information about operation and maintenance.

My garage door stopped opening/shutting and the gear needed to be replaced. The tech showed up on time, even gave me a call prior to arrival as requested. He was professional, figured out the problem in minutes and fixed it in good time. He was efficient, honest, explanatory, and I will definitely call them for future needs. The repair went very quickly and he demonstrated the working garage door opener afterward. I was very satisfied with the quick repair. He also lubricated all the hinges on both garage doors to make them open quieter. This was nice that he went above and beyond the immediate need. He did arrive about an hour earlier than the expected time frame. Early can be good but I had scheduled him around my baby's nap schedule so I would prefer he come at the scheduled time. You make your own judgment on this.

It went good. They were very prompt and came early which was nice. They would be coming on Tuesday to do the maintenance of the other garage door. I had first purchased the deal for the garage door and then the spring broke the day before. So my husband called the American Home Shield and they sent them a message to come out which was bizarre. We had to pay for the part because the American Home Shield doesn’t cover the part which is okay. So we don’t have to replace the door since we have the big deal and they are coming on the Tuesday.

We have a home warranty with American Home and Shield. When we called for repair, they referred us to Always Open and Shut Door Garage. The technician came out and checked our garage. After inspection, he determined we needed a complete door garage which would cost approximately $900. We asked several questions but he kept insisting we need to get a new door and opener. We decided to get a second opinion and paid him the required fee. The next day another company came and gave us a different estimate and didn't seem to think it was the complete garage door and opener but simply the hinges. He gave us an estimate of $299. He indicated there were no cracks on the door and was in fairly good condition. The door was fixed and we have had no problems. I was disappointed with Always Open and Shut door and wrote a negative review. Immediately the Company's owner called me and apologized and heart broken for writing such a negative review. She indicated they were disappointed this happened and would speak with the technician. She asked how they could make it right and I asked for my refund, which she immediately agreed and was sent in the mail the next day. As far as I am concerned, I feel this company simply had a bad technician and it affected their reputable company. The owners were very cooperative and apologetic to make things right. I would highly recommend this company and if you have any questions about the service, I would call the owners and explain before you decide to go with someone else. Which is what I should have done had I known. I apologize for writing a bad review and want Always Open and Shut to know I respect them and their company and would use them again. They were more concerned with my satisfaction than making a buck. Thank you Always Open and Shut Garage. You are a company that can be trusted.

He was quick and professional. Even though he had not installed the door he treated it like he had. He explained every thing he was going to do in language I could understand. Overall it went quickly and satisfactorily.

Their excellent technician, Yoel, was informational, pleasant and even helped me program my car remote. He did not rush, was smiling the entire time and answered all my questions and concerns in a very professional manner. My door is working perfectly and the quality of the replaced hinges appear to be perfectly installed. I feared that the bill would be quite expensive for the intense labor involved. This company accepted the Angie's List coupon of 15% off. If I had waited for the Home Warranty contractor I am certain it would have been considerably more with my deductible. All my phone contacts with Always Open & Shut were wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
