Description of Work: I called Arturo for a quote on concrete retaining wall repair. He called back in 3 days reporting problems with his phone mail and we set up a 9 Apr meeting to review my needs. Arturo arrived late in the day for our meeting and was rushed due to another appointment he had for a second bid. As such he was not able to give me a timely quote for the job saying he'd have to return later to more accurately assess the job needs. I told him that he could not come on 12 April due to my personal commitments and that I would like a quote by 15 April. When I did not hear from him for 2 days I concluded he was not interested in the job and awarded it to another mason with whom I met on 9 Apr and who had submitted a quote within 3 days. I would have no problem calling Arturo on another job need but would request a more timely response in terms of submitting a quote.

+ -1 moreI phoned Arturo Duran, owner of All Durable Masonry and he promptly set up a free estimate visit. I paid for the block to replace a large section of the adobe wall (31 feet x 4 feet) cost $1000. He showed up the next morning with a demolition crew, made clean cuts in the cracks to repair, and the broken adobe was hauled to the dump. He also brought over block samples to match the adobe. He delivered the block and worked for two entire days with another mason. Then mud washed the brick to match the rest of the adobe wall. He filled in the huge cracks and then painted them with a mortar/adobe mix to match the wall. The missing mortar form the electrical job was also replaced with a matching color. He did an incredible job with clean-up. I didn't have to redo anything. End of job I paid him the remaining $1200. From my first phone call to Arturo to completion of the job---One week!!!!
Description of Work: My 1972 adobe wall was crumbling and cracking in parts and an electician had taken out mortar between some brick joints to lay wire.
