ALL AMERICAN POOL SVC

Description of Work: Told Mr. Baca (owner and sole employee of this company) that the water flow through the pool system was low and that I've never had a problem w this 3 yr old pool pump before. Flow was always very good. I delivered the pool motor and pump to him. He brought it back that same day and said the problem was in the pump and that he fixed it. He reinstalled it, replaced a check valve and said everything was fine. I told him the flow was still low and that nothing had changed. He agreed that the flow was low and and offered to sell me a new pump/motor for an additional $1500. He then ran my credit card, which I gave him (mistake), for $547.33. I only paid $507 for the pump and motor brand new. When I said he had not fixed the problem and asked him to make an adjustment on the charges, he refused. Told me "you can't please all of the people all the time" .I had an electrician check the voltage to the motor and it was correct. He said the motor was running very hot (something I also noticed and told Mr. Baca), and was taking too long to get up to speed. He checked the amperage that the motor was drawing and found it way out of specs. He suspected that the motor had a bad winding and it would be best to just replace it. A few days later Mr. Baca had another pool tech inspect this system and he agreed that the motor was not running properly, and that the low flow problem still persisted. He said he would convey this opinion to Mr. Baca. I called Mr. Baca again and left a message to see if after he learned that he "fixed" the wrong component, he would would offer a partial refund. He has not returned my call.I've since bought a new replacement motor for $260.
