Absolutely disastrous experience, with the movers (i) showing up over 2 hours late beyond the agreed upon 2-hour window (in breach of the terms of the invoice), (ii) smelling like marijuana and acting under the influence, (iii) demanding payment in excess of what was previously provided in written quote (while holding on to my up-front deposit), (iv) stealing furniture, only to return and dump it in the dirt at the curb (then departing), and (v) breaking the wood frame of the box spring to my daughter queen size bed. This is the second time that used them - gave them the benefit of the doubt. Similarly during such prior time, the movers showed up over 2 hours late beyond the agreed upon 2-hour window (in breach of the terms of the invoice), smelled like marijuana and acted under the influence, and demanded payment in excess of what was previously provided in written quote (while holding on to my up-front deposit until the supervisor finally agreed to stand behind the written invoice). The local provider refused to provide a refund, instead insisting that I permit the same disastrous movers to return, and permit him to provide a mattress from an unidentified wholesaler from which he receives "deals," including "free" boxsprings - very sketchy, to say the least. I have zero desire to deal with this unscrupulous company again.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! The following is the email sent to the corporate offices for Starving Student Moving: I just want to let you know how horrible the move was I had two days ago with this company. 3 man team, one got sick half way through due to his own stupidity. 100 degree weather and he does not eat that day, gets sick 2-3 times only working at 50% for most of the move and was told to sit down and rest (for about an hour) then told by the ringleader to just move boxes upstairs -- which he did..one at a time and put then in the wrong rooms no matter where I told him to place them!! ! Really, who the does that!!! I watched him just stand around most of the time yet I am only given a 1 hour credit for him on a 7 hour move.Yes I was given a one hour credit for the third person, but seriously...this was a total joke. I should have received 50% of his time off the bill, since he only worked 50% of the entire job. Should NOT have taken long had i actually had 3 men working as promised. Not only did these jokers ding my freshly painted walls, they broke pieces from my freezer, filing cabinet and worst of all, an antique blanket chest. The left behind 3 chairs that needed moved as well. Telling them rooms to put items in was useless, I found that boxes were just tossed in any old room and my sister and I had to listen to them complain about moving heavy items. Is that not the job? Seriously!! I even had to run to a repair store to get a replacement power cord for my refrigerator due to damage in the move. They tried to fix it with tape from my contractor, but he told them that it would be a fire hazard. The contractor replaced the cord and is charging me $50 for your staffs screw up!!! The gentlemen that was sick also had the NERVE to ask if he could use my electricity and power cord to charge his almost dead cell phone. This is NOT MY PROBLEM. Over all, I wish I would have gone with another company. Rest assured that I will be posting my feelings on this move everywhere I can....Facebook, Angies List, Linkedin, word of mouth...DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!

What I appreciated most about them was that they were able, within 24 hours notice, they were able to change and reschedule, The new school did not know what date they would be open so I had to call and schedule and then have them be available to reschedule. They were the only company willing to work with me on this without drastically affecting the cost. They did the move and were on time, but they had not informed me that all my boxes had to have covers on them. I would have appreciated knowing all boxes had to be closed or sealed.
Description of Work: July 11, 2007 they moved the contents of my classroom from the school I was teaching at into the new school I would be teaching at.
